Jonas
سُورَةُ يُونُسَ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Ayah 1
Aliflamra tilka ayatu alkitabi alhakeemi
Alif-Lām-Rā Tilka 'Āyātu Al-Kitābi Al-Ĥakīmi
Alif. Lam. Ra. These are the verses of the Book of wisdom
Ayah 2
Akana lilnnasi AAajaban an awhayna ila rajulin minhum an anthiri alnnasa wabashshiri allatheena amanoo anna lahum qadama sidqin AAinda rabbihim qala alkafiroona inna hatha lasahirun mubeenun
Akāna Lilnnāsi `Ajabāan 'An 'Awĥaynā 'Ilá Rajulin Minhum 'An 'Andhiri An-Nāsa Wa Bashiri Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū 'Anna Lahum Qadama Şidqin `Inda Rabbihim Qāla Al-Kāfirūna 'Inna Hādhā Lasāĥirun Mubīnun
Why should it seem strange to mankind that We sent revelations to a mortal among them, who would warn others and give to the believers the glad news of their high rank in the sight of God. The unbelievers have said, "He (Muhammad) is certainly a magician
Ayah 3
Inna rabbakumu Allahu allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda fee sittati ayyamin thumma istawa AAala alAAarshi yudabbiru alamra ma min shafeeAAin illa min baAAdi ithnihi thalikumu Allahu rabbukum faoAAbudoohu afala tathakkaroona
Inna Rabbakumu Allāhu Al-Ladhī Khalaqa As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa Fī Sittati 'Ayyāmin Thumma Astawá `Alá Al-`Arshi Yudabbiru Al-'Amra Mā Min Shafī`in 'Illā Min Ba`di 'Idhnihi Dhalikumu Allāhu Rabbukum Fā`budūhu 'Afalā Tadhakkarūna
God is your Lord who has created the heavens and the earth in six days and established His Dominion over the Throne. He maintains order over the creation. No one can intercede for others without His permission. It is God who is your only Lord. Worship only Him. Will you then not think
Ayah 4
Ilayhi marjiAAukum jameeAAan waAAda Allahi haqqan innahu yabdao alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu liyajziya allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati bialqisti waallatheena kafaroo lahum sharabun min hameemin waAAathabun aleemun bima kanoo yakfuroona
Ilayhi Marji`ukum Jamī`āan Wa`da Allāhi Ĥaqqāan 'Innahu Yabda'u Al-Khalqa Thumma Yu`īduhu Liyajziya Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Bil-Qisţi Wa Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Lahum Sharābun Min Ĥamīmin Wa `Adhābun 'Alīmun Bimā Kānū Yakfurūna
People, you will all return to God. The promise of God is true; He creates all things and (after their death) brings them to life again so that He may justly reward the righteously striving believers. The disbelievers will drink boiling filthy water and suffer painful torment as a recompense for their disbelief
Ayah 5
Huwa allathee jaAAala alshshamsa diyaan waalqamara nooran waqaddarahu manazila litaAAlamoo AAadada alssineena waalhisaba ma khalaqa Allahu thalika illa bialhaqqi yufassilu alayati liqawmin yaAAlamoona
Huwa Al-Ladhī Ja`ala Ash-Shamsa Điyā'an Wa Al-Qamara Nūrāan Wa Qaddarahu Manāzila Lita`lamū `Adada As-Sinīna Wa Al-Ĥisāba Mā Khalaqa Allāhu Dhālika 'Illā Bil-Ĥaqqi Yufaşşilu Al-'Āyāti Liqawmin Ya`lamūna
It is God who has made the sun radiant and the moon luminous and has appointed for the moon certain phases so that you may compute the number of years and other reckonings. God has created them for a genuine purpose. He explains the evidence (of His existence) to the people of knowledge
Ayah 6
Inna fee ikhtilafi allayli waalnnahari wama khalaqa Allahu fee alssamawati waalardi laayatin liqawmin yattaqoona
Inna Fī Akhtilāfi Al-Layli Wa An-Nahāri Wa Mā Khalaqa Allāhu Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi La'āyātin Liqawmin Yattaqūna
The alternation of the day and night and all that God has created in the heavens and earth are evidence (of the existence of God) for the pious people
Ayah 7
Inna allatheena la yarjoona liqaana waradoo bialhayati alddunya waitmaannoo biha waallatheena hum AAan ayatina ghafiloona
Inna Al-Ladhīna Lā Yarjūna Liqā'anā Wa Rađū Bil-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Wa Aţma'annū Bihā Wa Al-Ladhīna Hum `An 'Āyātinā Ghāfilūna
Those who do not have hope of receiving Our mercy in the life hereafter who are pleased and satisfied with the worldly life and who pay no attention to Our revelations
Ayah 8
Olaika mawahumu alnnaru bima kanoo yaksiboona
Ūlā'ika Ma'wāhumu An-Nāru Bimā Kānū Yaksibūna
will all have the Fire as their dwelling for that which they had done
Ayah 9
Inna allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati yahdeehim rabbuhum bieemanihim tajree min tahtihimu alanharu fee jannati alnnaAAeemi
Inna Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Yahdīhim Rabbuhum Bi'īmānihim Tajrī Min Taĥtihimu Al-'Anhāru Fī Jannāti An-Na`īmi
The righteously striving believers receive, through their faith, guidance from their Lord to the bountiful gardens wherein streams flow
Ayah 10
DaAAwahum feeha subhanaka allahumma watahiyyatuhum feeha salamun waakhiru daAAwahum ani alhamdu lillahi rabbi alAAalameena
Da`wāhum Fīhā Subĥānaka Al-Lahumma Wa Taĥīyatuhum Fīhā Salāmun Wa 'Ākhiru Da`wāhum 'Ani Al-Ĥamdu Lillāhi Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna
Their prayer shall be, "Glory be to you Lord," and their greeting, "Peace be with you," and the only other words (of worldly speech) they will speak will be, "It is God, Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise
Ayah 11
Walaw yuAAajjilu Allahu lilnnasi alshsharra istiAAjalahum bialkhayri laqudiya ilayhim ajaluhum fanatharu allatheena la yarjoona liqaana fee tughyanihim yaAAmahoona
Wa Law Yu`ajjilu Allāhu Lilnnāsi Ash-Sharra Asti`jālahum Bil-Khayri Laquđiya 'Ilayhim 'Ajaluhum Fanadharu Al-Ladhīna Lā Yarjūna Liqā'anā Fī Ţughyānihim Ya`mahūna
Had God been as hasty to punish people as they were hasty to achieve good, their life would have already ended. We will leave those who have no hope of receiving Our mercy, in the life hereafter, to continue blindly in their transgression
Ayah 12
Waitha massa alinsana alddurru daAAana lijanbihi aw qaAAidan aw qaiman falamma kashafna AAanhu durrahu marra kaan lam yadAAuna ila durrin massahu kathalika zuyyina lilmusrifeena ma kanoo yaAAmaloona
Wa 'Idhā Massa Al-'Insāna Ađ-Đurru Da`ānā Lijanbihi 'Aw Qā`idāan 'Aw Qā'imāan Falammā Kashafnā `Anhu Đurrahu Marra Ka'an Lam Yad`unā 'Ilá Đurrin Massahu Kadhālika Zuyyina Lilmusrifīna Mā Kānū Ya`malūna
When the human being is affected by hardship, he starts to pray while lying on his side, sitting or standing, but when We relieve him from hardship, he starts to act as though he had never prayed to Us to save him from the misfortune. This is how transgressors' deeds are made attractive to them
Ayah 13
Walaqad ahlakna alquroona min qablikum lamma thalamoo wajaathum rusuluhum bialbayyinati wama kanoo liyuminoo kathalika najzee alqawma almujrimeena
Wa Laqad 'Ahlaknā Al-Qurūna Min Qablikum Lammā Žalamū Wa Jā'at/hum Rusuluhum Bil-Bayyināti Wa Mā Kānū Liyu'uminū Kadhālika Najzī Al-Qawma Al-Mujrimīna
We destroyed certain generations who lived before you because of their injustice. Our Messengers came to them and showed them miracles, but they would not believe. Thus do We punish the criminals
Ayah 14
Thumma jaAAalnakum khalaifa fee alardi min baAAdihim linanthura kayfa taAAmaloona
Thumma Ja`alnākum Khalā'ifa Fī Al-'Arđi Min Ba`dihim Linanžura Kayfa Ta`malūna
We have made you their successors in the land so that We could see how you behaved
Ayah 15
Waitha tutla AAalayhim ayatuna bayyinatin qala allatheena la yarjoona liqaana iti biquranin ghayri hatha aw baddilhu qul ma yakoonu lee an obaddilahu min tilqai nafsee in attabiAAu illa ma yooha ilayya innee akhafu in AAasaytu rabbee AAathaba yawmin AAatheemin
Wa 'Idhā Tutlá `Alayhim 'Āyātunā Bayyinātin Qāla Al-Ladhīna Lā Yarjūna Liqā'anā A'ti Biqur'ānin Ghayri Hādhā 'Aw Baddilhu Qul Mā Yakūnu Lī 'An 'Ubaddilahu Min Tilqā'i Nafsī 'In 'Attabi`u 'Illā Mā Yūĥá 'Ilayya 'Innī 'Akhāfu 'In `Aşaytu Rabbī `Adhāba Yawmin `Ažīmin
Whenever Our authoritative revelations are recited to those who do not wish to meet Us in the life hereafter, say, "Bring us another book besides this one or change it." (Muhammad), tell them, "I can not change it myself. I only follow what is revealed to me. I fear that for disobeying my Lord I shall be punished on the great (Day of Judgment)
Ayah 16
Qul law shaa Allahu ma talawtuhu AAalaykum wala adrakum bihi faqad labithtu feekum AAumuran min qablihi afala taAAqiloona
Qul Law Shā'a Allāhu Mā Talawtuhu `Alaykum Wa Lā 'Adrākum Bihi Faqad Labithtu Fīkum `Umurāan Min Qablihi 'Afalā Ta`qilūna
(Muhammad), tell them, "Had God wanted I would not have recited it (the Book) to you nor would I have told you anything about it. I lived among you for a whole life-time before it was revealed. Will you then not understand
Ayah 17
Faman athlamu mimmani iftara AAala Allahi kathiban aw kaththaba biayatihi innahu la yuflihu almujrimoona
Faman 'Ažlamu Mimmani Aftará `Alá Allāhi Kadhibāan 'Aw Kadhaba Bi'āyātihi 'Innahu Lā Yufliĥu Al-Mujrimūna
Who is more unjust than one who invents falsehood against God or calls His revelations lies? The criminals will certainly have no happiness
Ayah 18
WayaAAbudoona min dooni Allahi ma la yadurruhum wala yanfaAAuhum wayaqooloona haolai shufaAAaona AAinda Allahi qul atunabbioona Allaha bima la yaAAlamu fee alssamawati wala fee alardi subhanahu wataAAala AAamma yushrikoona
Wa Ya`budūna Min Dūni Allāhi Mā Lā Yađurruhum Wa Lā Yanfa`uhum Wa Yaqūlūna Hā'uulā' Shufa`ā'uunā `Inda Allāhi Qul 'Atunabbi'ūna Allāha Bimā Lā Ya`lamu Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Lā Fī Al-'Arđi Subĥānahu Wa Ta`ālá `Ammā Yushrikūna
(Some people) worship things other than God which harm nor benefit them. They say, "These (idols) are our intercessors before God." (Muhammad), tell them, "Are you trying to tell God about something that He does not find in the heavens or earth? God is too Glorious to be considered equal to idols
Ayah 19
Wama kana alnnasu illa ommatan wahidatan faikhtalafoo walawla kalimatun sabaqat min rabbika laqudiya baynahum feema feehi yakhtalifoona
Wa Mā Kāna An-Nāsu 'Illā 'Ummatan Wāĥidatan Fākhtalafū Wa Lawlā Kalimatun Sabaqat Min Rabbika Laquđiya Baynahum Fīmā Fīhi Yakhtalifūna
All people (once) followed one belief. Then they began to follow different beliefs. Had not a word of your Lord (His decision to give every one time and free will) been decreed, God would already have settled their differences
Ayah 20
Wayaqooloona lawla onzila AAalayhi ayatun min rabbihi faqul innama alghaybu lillahi faintathiroo innee maAAakum mina almuntathireena
Wa Yaqūlūna Lawlā 'Unzila `Alayhi 'Āyatun Min Rabbihi Faqul 'Innamā Al-Ghaybu Lillāhi Fāntažirū 'Innī Ma`akum Mina Al-Muntažirīna
They (unbelievers) say, "Why has his Lord not given him some miracles to (support his claim of being His Messenger)?" Say "(The knowledge) of the unseen certainly belongs to God. Wait and I too shall be waiting with you
Ayah 21
Waitha athaqna alnnasa rahmatan min baAAdi darraa massathum itha lahum makrun fee ayatina quli Allahu asraAAu makran inna rusulana yaktuboona ma tamkuroona
Wa 'Idhā 'Adhaqnā An-Nāsa Raĥmatan Min Ba`di Đarrā'a Massat/hum 'Idhā Lahum Makrun Fī 'Āyātinā Quli Allāhu 'Asra`u Makrāan 'Inna Rusulanā Yaktubūna Mā Tamkurūn
When people are granted mercy after having suffered hardship, they begin to plot against Our revelations. Say, "God is the most swift in His plans." Our angelic messengers record all that you plot
Ayah 22
Huwa allathee yusayyirukum fee albarri waalbahri hatta itha kuntum fee alfulki wajarayna bihim bireehin tayyibatin wafarihoo biha jaatha reehun AAasifun wajaahumu almawju min kulli makanin wathannoo annahum oheeta bihim daAAawoo Allaha mukhliseena lahu alddeena lain anjaytana min hathihi lanakoonanna mina alshshakireena
Huwa Al-Ladhī Yusayyirukum Fī Al-Barri Wa Al-Baĥri Ĥattá 'Idhā Kuntum Fī Al-Fulki Wa Jarayna Bihim Birīĥin Ţayyibatin Wa Fariĥū Bihā Jā'at/hā Rīĥun `Āşifun Wa Jā'ahumu Al-Mawju Min Kulli Makānin Wa Žannū 'Annahum 'Uĥīţa Bihim Da`aw Allāha Mukhlişīna Lahu Ad-Dīna La'in 'Anjaytanā Min Hadhihi Lanakūnanna Mina Ash-Shākirīna
When you are rejoicing in a boat, a favorable breeze and a violent storm arises with waves surrounding you from all sides. Thinking that you will not survive, you start to pray sincerely to God. In prayer, you say, "If You rescue us from this we shall certainly be grateful
Ayah 23
Falamma anjahum itha hum yabghoona fee alardi bighayri alhaqqi ya ayyuha alnnasu innama baghyukum AAala anfusikum mataAAa alhayati alddunya thumma ilayna marjiAAukum fanunabbiokum bima kuntum taAAmaloona
Falammā 'Anjāhum 'Idhā Hum Yabghūna Fī Al-'Arđi Bighayri Al-Ĥaqqi Yā 'Ayyuhā An-Nāsu 'Innamā Baghyukum `Alá 'Anfusikum Matā`a Al-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Thumma 'Ilaynā Marji`ukum Fanunabbi'ukum Bimā Kuntum Ta`malūna
When We saved you, you started to rebel unjustly in the land. People, your rebellion will only harm yourselves. You may enjoy the worldly life but to Us you will all return and We will let you know all that you had done
Ayah 24
Innama mathalu alhayati alddunya kamain anzalnahu mina alssamai faikhtalata bihi nabatu alardi mimma yakulu alnnasu waalanAAamu hatta itha akhathati alardu zukhrufaha waizzayyanat wathanna ahluha annahum qadiroona AAalayha ataha amruna laylan aw naharan fajaAAalnaha haseedan kaan lam taghna bialamsi kathalika nufassilu alayati liqawmin yatafakkaroona
Innamā Mathalu Al-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Kamā'in 'Anzalnāhu Mina As-Samā'i Fākhtalaţa Bihi Nabātu Al-'Arđi Mimmā Ya'kulu An-Nāsu Wa Al-'An`ām Ĥattá 'Idhā 'Akhadhati Al-'Arđu Zukhrufahā Wa Azzayyanat Wa Žanna 'Ahluhā 'Annahum Qādirūna `Alayhā 'Atāhā 'Amrunā Laylāan 'Aw Nahārāan Faja`alnāhā Ĥaşīdāan Ka'an Lam Taghna Bil-'Amsi Kadhālika Nufaşşilu Al-'Āyāti Liqawmin Yatafakkarūna
The example of the worldly life is like the water sent down from the sky which becomes mixed with the earth's produce that people and cattle consume. When the land becomes fertile and pleasant, people think that they have control over it. At Our command during the night or day, the land becomes as barren as if it had no richness the day before. Thus, do We explain the evidence (of the truth) for the people who reflect
Ayah 25
WaAllahu yadAAoo ila dari alssalami wayahdee man yashao ila siratin mustaqeemin
Wa Allāhu Yad`ū 'Ilá Dāri As-Salāmi Wa Yahdī Man Yashā'u 'Ilá Şirāţin Mustaqīmin
God invites every one to the House of Peace and guides whomever He wants to the right path
Ayah 26
Lillatheena ahsanoo alhusna waziyadatun wala yarhaqu wujoohahum qatarun wala thillatun olaika ashabu aljannati hum feeha khalidoona
Lilladhīna 'Aĥsanū Al-Ĥusná Wa Ziyādatun Wa Lā Yarhaqu Wujūhahum Qatarun Wa Lā Dhillatun 'Ūlā'ika 'Aşĥābu Al-Jannati Hum Fīhā Khālidūna
The righteous will receive good reward for their deeds and more. Their faces will suffer no disgrace or ignominy. They will be the dwellers of Paradise wherein they will live forever
Ayah 27
Waallatheena kasaboo alssayyiati jazao sayyiatin bimithliha watarhaquhum thillatun ma lahum mina Allahi min AAasimin kaannama oghshiyat wujoohuhum qitaAAan mina allayli muthliman olaika ashabu alnnari hum feeha khalidoona
Wa Al-Ladhīna Kasabū As-Sayyi'āti Jazā'u Sayyi'atin Bimithlihā Wa Tarhaquhum Dhillatun Mā Lahum Mina Allāhi Min `Āşimin Ka'annamā 'Ughshiyat Wujūhuhum Qiţa`āan Mina Al-Layli Mužlimāan 'Ūlā'ika 'Aşĥābu An-Nāri Hum Fīhā Khālidūna
The recompense for the evil deeds will be equally evil (not more) and the faces of the evil-doers will suffer from disgrace. No one can protect them from the wrath of God. Their faces will become dark as if covered by the pitch-darkness of night. They will be the dwellers of hell wherein they will remain forever
Ayah 28
Wayawma nahshuruhum jameeAAan thumma naqoolu lillatheena ashrakoo makanakum antum washurakaokum fazayyalna baynahum waqala shurakaohum ma kuntum iyyana taAAbudoona
Wa Yawma Naĥshuruhum Jamī`āan Thumma Naqūlu Lilladhīna 'Ashrakū Makānakum 'Antum Wa Shurakā'uukum Fazayyalnā Baynahum Wa Qāla Shurakā'uuhum Mā Kuntum 'Īyānā Ta`budūna
We will tell the pagans on the day when every one is resurrected, "Stand with your idols wherever you are." Then We will separate them (from their idols) and their idols will protest against them saying, "You did not worship us
Ayah 29
Fakafa biAllahi shaheedan baynana wabaynakum in kunna AAan AAibadatikum laghafileena
Fakafá Billāhi Shahīdāan Baynanā Wa Baynakum 'In Kunnā `An `Ibādatikum Laghāfilīna
God is Sufficient Witness for us that we were not aware of your worship
Ayah 30
Hunalika tabloo kullu nafsin ma aslafat waruddoo ila Allahi mawlahumu alhaqqi wadalla AAanhum ma kanoo yaftaroona
Hunālika Tablū Kullu Nafsin Mā 'Aslafat Wa Ruddū 'Ilá Allāhi Mawlāhumu Al-Ĥaqqi Wa Đalla `Anhum Mā Kānū Yaftarūna
There every soul will experience the result of all that it had done. They will be brought into the presence of God, their true Lord, and all that they falsely invented will vanish
Ayah 31
Qul man yarzuqukum mina alssamai waalardi amman yamliku alssamAAa waalabsara waman yukhriju alhayya mina almayyiti wayukhriju almayyita mina alhayyi waman yudabbiru alamra fasayaqooloona Allahu faqul afala tattaqoona
Qul Man Yarzuqukum Mina As-Samā'i Wa Al-'Arđi 'Amman Yamliku As-Sam`a Wa Al-'Abşāra Wa Man Yukhriju Al-Ĥayya Mina Al-Mayyiti Wa Yukhriju Al-Mayyita Mina Al-Ĥayyi Wa Man Yudabbiru Al-'Amra Fasayaqūlūna Allāhu Faqul 'Afalā Tattaqūna
(Muhammad), ask them, "Who gives you sustenance from the heavens and earth, who truly possesses (your) hearing and seeing abilities, who brings the living out of the dead and the dead out of the living and who regulates (the whole Universe)? They will reply, "God." Ask them, "Why, then, do you not have fear of Him
Ayah 32
Fathalikumu Allahu rabbukumu alhaqqu famatha baAAda alhaqqi illa alddalalu faanna tusrafoona
Fadhalikumu Allāhu Rabbukumu Al-Ĥaqqu Famādhā Ba`da Al-Ĥaqqi 'Illā Ađ-Đalālu Fa'annā Tuşrafūna
Thus is God your true Lord. In the absence of truth there is nothing but falsehood. Then where are you turning
Ayah 33
Kathalika haqqat kalimatu rabbika AAala allatheena fasaqoo annahum la yuminoona
Kadhālika Ĥaqqat Kalimatu Rabbika `Alá Al-Ladhīna Fasaqū 'Annahum Lā Yu'uminūna
The decree of your Lord that the evil-doers will not have faith has already been issued
Ayah 34
Qul hal min shurakaikum man yabdao alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu quli Allahu yabdao alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu faanna tufakoona
Qul Hal Min Shurakā'ikum Man Yabda'u Al-Khalqa Thumma Yu`īduhu Quli Allāhu Yabda'u Al-Khalqa Thumma Yu`īduhu Fa'anná Tu'ufakūna
(Muhammad), ask them,"Can any of your idols create something (cause it to die), and then bring it back to life again?" Say, "Only God can originate the creation and bring it to life again. Where have you strayed
Ayah 35
Qul hal min shurakaikum man yahdee ila alhaqqi quli Allahu yahdee lilhaqqi afaman yahdee ila alhaqqi ahaqqu an yuttabaAAa amman la yahiddee illa an yuhda fama lakum kayfa tahkumoona
Qul Hal Min Shurakā'ikum Man Yahdī 'Ilá Al-Ĥaqqi Quli Allāhu Yahdī Lilĥaqqi 'Afaman Yahdī 'Ilá Al-Ĥaqqi 'Aĥaqqu 'An Yuttaba`a 'Amman Lā Yahiddī 'Illā 'An Yuhdá Famā Lakum Kayfa Taĥkumūna
(Muhammad), ask them, "Can any of your idols guide you to the Truth?" Say, "Only God guides to the Truth." Is the one who guides to the Truth a proper guide or one who himself cannot find guidance unless he is guided (by others)? What is wrong with you that you judge (so unjustly)
Ayah 36
Wama yattabiAAu aktharuhum illa thannan inna alththanna la yughnee mina alhaqqi shayan inna Allaha AAaleemun bima yafAAaloona
Wa Mā Yattabi`u 'Aktharuhum 'Illā Žannāan 'Inna Až-Žanna Lā Yughnī Mina Al-Ĥaqqi Shay'āan 'Inna Allāha `Alīmun Bimā Yaf`alūna
Most of the unbelievers follow only conjecture which certainly cannot serve as a substitute for the Truth. God knows well what they do
Ayah 37
Wama kana hatha alquranu an yuftara min dooni Allahi walakin tasdeeqa allathee bayna yadayhi watafseela alkitabi la rayba feehi min rabbi alAAalameena
Wa Mā Kāna Hādhā Al-Qur'ānu 'An Yuftará Min Dūni Allāhi Wa Lakin Taşdīqa Al-Ladhī Bayna Yadayhi Wa Tafşīla Al-Kitābi Lā Rayba Fīhi Min Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna
No one could have composed this Quran besides God. This confirms the existing Book (the Bible) and explains itself. There is no doubt that it is from the Lord of the Universe
Ayah 38
Am yaqooloona iftarahu qul fatoo bisooratin mithlihi waodAAoo mani istataAAtum min dooni Allahi in kuntum sadiqeena
Am Yaqūlūna Aftarāhu Qul Fa'tū Bisūratin Mithlihi Wa Ad`ū Mani Astaţa`tum Min Dūni Allāhi 'In Kuntum Şādiqīna
Do they say that Muhammad has invented it? (Muhammad), tell them, "If your claim is true, compose only one chapter like it and call on anyone besides God for help
Ayah 39
Bal kaththaboo bima lam yuheetoo biAAilmihi walamma yatihim taweeluhu kathalika kaththaba allatheena min qablihim faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu alththalimeena
Bal Kadhabū Bimā Lam Yuĥīţū Bi`ilmihi Wa Lammā Ya'tihim Ta'wīluhu Kadhālika Kadhaba Al-Ladhīna Min Qablihim Fānžur Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Až-Žālimīna
They call a lie something that is beyond the limit of their knowledge and whose interpretation has not yet been revealed. Some people who lived before them also called Our revelations lies. Consider how terrible was the end of the unjust people
Ayah 40
Waminhum man yuminu bihi waminhum man la yuminu bihi warabbuka aAAlamu bialmufsideena
Wa Minhum Man Yu'uminu Bihi Wa Minhum Man Lā Yu'uminu Bihi Wa Rabbuka 'A`lamu Bil-Mufsidīna
Some of them believe in the Quran and others do not. Your Lord knows best the evil doers
Ayah 41
Wain kaththabooka faqul lee AAamalee walakum AAamalukum antum bareeoona mimma aAAmalu waana bareeon mimma taAAmaloona
Wa 'In Kadhabūka Faqul Lī `Amalī Wa Lakum `Amalukum 'Antum Barī'ūna Mimmā 'A`malu Wa 'Anā Barī'un Mimmā Ta`malūna
If they call you a liar, tell them, "Let each one of us follow his own way. You will not be responsible for what I do and I will not be responsible for what you do
Ayah 42
Waminhum man yastamiAAoona ilayka afaanta tusmiAAu alssumma walaw kanoo la yaAAqiloona
Wa Minhum Man Yastami`ūna 'Ilayka 'Afa'anta Tusmi`u Aş-Şumma Wa Law Kānū Lā Ya`qilūna
Some of them will listen to you, but are you supposed to make the deaf hear even if they have no understanding
Ayah 43
Waminhum man yanthuru ilayka afaanta tahdee alAAumya walaw kanoo la yubsiroona
Wa Minhum Man Yanžuru 'Ilayka 'Afa'anta Tahdī Al-`Umya Wa Law Kānū Lā Yubşirūna
Some of them will look at you, but are you supposed to guide the blind even if they have no vision
Ayah 44
Inna Allaha la yathlimu alnnasa shayan walakinna alnnasa anfusahum yathlimoona
Inna Allāha Lā Yažlimu An-Nāsa Shay'āan Wa Lakinna An-Nāsa 'Anfusahum Yažlimūna
God does not do the least bit of injustice to anyone but people wrong themselves
Ayah 45
Wayawma yahshuruhum kaan lam yalbathoo illa saAAatan mina alnnahari yataAAarafoona baynahum qad khasira allatheena kaththaboo biliqai Allahi wama kanoo muhtadeena
Wa Yawma Yaĥshuruhum Ka'an Lam Yalbathū 'Illā Sā`atan Mina An-Nahāri Yata`ārafūna Baynahum Qad Khasira Al-Ladhīna Kadhabū Biliqā'i Allāhi Wa Mā Kānū Muhtadīna
On the day when they will be resurrected, their worldly life will seem to them only as an hour of a day and they all will recognize each other. Those who called the receiving of mercy from God a lie are certainly lost. They did not have the right guidance
Ayah 46
Waimma nuriyannaka baAAda allathee naAAiduhum aw natawaffayannaka failayna marjiAAuhum thumma Allahu shaheedun AAala ma yafAAaloona
Wa 'Immā Nuriyannaka Ba`đa Al-Ladhī Na`iduhum 'Aw Natawaffayannaka Fa'ilaynā Marji`uhum Thumma Allāhu Shahīdun `Alá Mā Yaf`alūna
When if We show you them suffering Our retribution or you die before their suffering, (they will not be able to escape Our punishment) they will all return to Us. God bears witness to whatever they do
Ayah 47
Walikulli ommatin rasoolun faitha jaa rasooluhum qudiya baynahum bialqisti wahum la yuthlamoona
Wa Likulli 'Ummatin Rasūlun Fa'idhā Jā'a Rasūluhum Quđiya Baynahum Bil-Qisţi Wa Hum Lā Yužlamūna
A Messenger is appointed for all people. When the Messenger for them came he judged among them fairly and they were not wronged
Ayah 48
Wayaqooloona mata hatha alwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeena
Wa Yaqūlūna Matá Hādhā Al-Wa`du 'In Kuntum Şādiqīna
They ask, "If you (believers) speak the truth, when will your promise (about the Day of Judgment) be fulfilled
Ayah 49
Qul la amliku linafsee darran wala nafAAan illa ma shaa Allahu likulli ommatin ajalun itha jaa ajaluhum fala yastakhiroona saAAatan wala yastaqdimoona
Qul Lā 'Amliku Linafsī Đarrāan Wa Lā Naf`āan 'Illā Mā Shā'a Allāhu Likulli 'Ummatin 'Ajalun 'Idhā Jā'a 'Ajaluhum Falā Yasta'khirūna Sā`atan Wa Lā Yastaqdimūna
(Muhammad), tell them, "I have no control over my suffering or benefits unless God wills. Every nation is destined to live for an appointed time. They can neither delay that time nor can they cause it to come sooner
Ayah 50
Qul araaytum in atakum AAathabuhu bayatan aw naharan matha yastaAAjilu minhu almujrimoona
Qul 'Ara'aytum 'In 'Atākum `Adhābuhu Bayātāan 'Aw Nahārāan Mādhā Yasta`jilu Minhu Al-Mujrimūna
Ask them, "What benefit can criminals get from their demand that God must punish them immediately if His words are true?" Whether His punishment befalls them during the day or night (they will not be able to escape)
Ayah 51
Athumma itha ma waqaAAa amantum bihi alana waqad kuntum bihi tastaAAjiloona
Athumma 'Idhā Mā Waqa`a 'Āmantum Bihi 'Āl'āna Wa Qad Kuntum Bihi Tasta`jilūna
Besides, if He was to send them the punishment which they want to quickly experience, would they then have faith
Ayah 52
Thumma qeela lillatheena thalamoo thooqoo AAathaba alkhuldi hal tujzawna illa bima kuntum taksiboona
Thumma Qīla Lilladhīna Žalamū Dhūqū `Adhāba Al-Khuldi Hal Tujzawna 'Illā Bimā Kuntum Taksibūna
The unjust will be told, "Suffer the everlasting torment. Do you expect a recompense other than what you deserve
Ayah 53
Wayastanbioonaka ahaqqun huwa qul ee warabbee innahu lahaqqun wama antum bimuAAjizeena
Wa Yastanbi'ūnaka 'Aĥaqqun Huwa Qul 'Ī Wa Rabbī 'Innahu Laĥaqqun Wa Mā 'Antum Bimu`jizīna
They ask you, "Is that (punishment) true?" Tell them, "It certainly is. I swear by my Lord. You can not escape from (God's retribution)
Ayah 54
Walaw anna likulli nafsin thalamat ma fee alardi laiftadat bihi waasarroo alnnadamata lamma raawoo alAAathaba waqudiya baynahum bialqisti wahum la yuthlamoona
Wa Law 'Anna Likulli Nafsin Žalamat Mā Fī Al-'Arđi Lāftadat Bihi Wa 'Asarrū An-Nadāmata Lammā Ra'aw Al-`Adhāba Wa Quđiya Baynahum Bil-Qisţi Wa Hum Lā Yužlamūna
(On the Day of Judgment) to redeem oneself of one's injustice, one would gladly spend the wealth of the whole earth if it were possible. On seeing the torment one will try to hide his regret. They will all be judged fairly and no wrong will be done to them
Ayah 55
Ala inna lillahi ma fee alssamawati waalardi ala inna waAAda Allahi haqqun walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona
Alā 'Inna Lillāhi Mā Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi 'Alā 'Inna Wa`da Allāhi Ĥaqqun Wa Lakinna 'Aktharahum Lā Ya`lamūna
All that is in the heavens and the earth certainly belongs to God and His promise is true, but many people do not know this
Ayah 56
Huwa yuhyee wayumeetu wailayhi turjaAAoona
Huwa Yuĥyī Wa Yumītu Wa 'Ilayhi Turja`ūna
It is God who gives life and causes things to die. To Him you will all return
Ayah 57
Ya ayyuha alnnasu qad jaatkum mawAAithatun min rabbikum washifaon lima fee alssudoori wahudan warahmatun lilmumineena
Yā 'Ayyuhā An-Nāsu Qad Jā'atkum Maw`ižatun Min Rabbikum Wa Shifā'un Limā Fī Aş-Şudūri Wa Hudáan Wa Raĥmatun Lilmu'uminīna
People, good advice has come to you from your Lord a (spiritual) cure, a guide and a mercy for the believers
Ayah 58
Qul bifadli Allahi wabirahmatihi fabithalika falyafrahoo huwa khayrun mimma yajmaAAoona
Qul Bifađli Allāhi Wa Biraĥmatihi Fabidhālika Falyafraĥū Huwa Khayrun Mimmā Yajma`ūna
(Muhammad), tell them, "To be happy with the favors and mercy of God is better than whatever you accumulate
Ayah 59
Qul araaytum ma anzala Allahu lakum min rizqin fajaAAaltum minhu haraman wahalalan qul allahu athina lakum am AAala Allahi taftaroona
Qul 'Ara'aytum Mā 'Anzala Allāhu Lakum Min Rizqin Faja`altum Minhu Ĥarāmāan Wa Ĥalālāan Qul 'Ālllahu 'Adhina Lakum 'Am `Alá Allāhi Taftarūna
Ask them, "Have you considered that out of the sustenance which God has given you, you made some of it lawful and some unlawful? Did God permit you to do this or are you ascribing falsehood to Him
Ayah 60
Wama thannu allatheena yaftaroona AAala Allahi alkathiba yawma alqiyamati inna Allaha lathoo fadlin AAala alnnasi walakinna aktharahum la yashkuroona
Wa Mā Žannu Al-Ladhīna Yaftarūna `Alá Allāhi Al-Kadhiba Yawma Al-Qiyāmati 'Inna Allāha Ladhū Fađlin `Alá An-Nāsi Wa Lakinna 'Aktharahum Lā Yashkurūna
What do those who ascribe falsehood to God think of the Day of Judgment? God is generous to the human being, yet many do not give thanks
Ayah 61
Wama takoonu fee shanin wama tatloo minhu min quranin wala taAAmaloona min AAamalin illa kunna AAalaykum shuhoodan ith tufeedoona feehi wama yaAAzubu AAan rabbika min mithqali tharratin fee alardi wala fee alssamai wala asghara min thalika wala akbara illa fee kitabin mubeenun
Wa Mā Takūnu Fī Sha'nin Wa Mā Tatlū Minhu Min Qur'ānin Wa Lā Ta`malūna Min `Amalin 'Illā Kunnā `Alaykum Shuhūdāan 'Idh Tufīđūna Fīhi Wa Mā Ya`zubu `An Rabbika Min Mithqāli Dharratin Fī Al-'Arđi Wa Lā Fī As-Samā'i Wa Lā 'Aşghara Min Dhālika Wa Lā 'Akbara 'Illā Fī Kitābin Mubīnin
(Muhammad), We bear witness to all your affairs; whatever you recite from the Quran and whatever you (people) do. Nothing in the heavens or the earth is hidden from your Lord, even that which is as small as an atom's weight or greater or smaller. All is recorded in the glorious Book
Ayah 62
Ala inna awliyaa Allahi la khawfun AAalayhim wala hum yahzanoona
Alā 'Inna 'Awliyā'a Allāhi Lā Khawfun `Alayhim Wa Lā Hum Yaĥzanūna
The friends of God will certainly have nothing to fear, nor will they be grieved
Ayah 63
Allatheena amanoo wakanoo yattaqoona
Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa Kānū Yattaqūna
Those who have faith and fear God
Ayah 64
Lahumu albushra fee alhayati alddunya wafee alakhirati la tabdeela likalimati Allahi thalika huwa alfawzu alAAatheemu
Lahumu Al-Bushrá Fī Al-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Wa Fī Al-'Ākhirati Lā Tabdīla Likalimāti Allāhi Dhālika Huwa Al-Fawzu Al-`Ažīmu
will receive glad news both in this life and in the life hereafter. The words of God do not change. This alone is the supreme triumph
Ayah 65
Wala yahzunka qawluhum inna alAAizzata lillahi jameeAAan huwa alssameeAAu alAAaleemu
Wa Lā Yaĥzunka Qawluhum 'Inna Al-`Izzata Lillāhi Jamī`āan Huwa As-Samī`u Al-`Alīmu
(Muhammad), let not their words disappoint you; all dignity belongs to God. He is All-hearing and All-knowing
Ayah 66
Ala inna lillahi man fee alssamawati waman fee alardi wama yattabiAAu allatheena yadAAoona min dooni Allahi shurakaa in yattabiAAoona illa alththanna wain hum illa yakhrusoona
Alā 'Inna Lillāhi Man Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Man Fī Al-'Arđi Wa Mā Yattabi`u Al-Ladhīna Yad`ūna Min Dūni Allāhi Shurakā'a 'In Yattabi`ūna 'Illā Až-Žanna Wa 'In Hum 'Illā Yakhruşūna
Does not all that is in the heavens and the earth belong to God? (The unbelievers) who worship the idols instead of God follow only conjecture. What they preach are mere lies
Ayah 67
Huwa allathee jaAAala lakumu allayla litaskunoo feehi waalnnahara mubsiran inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yasmaAAoona
Huwa Al-Ladhī Ja`ala Lakumu Al-Layla Litaskunū Fīhi Wa An-Nahāra Mubşirāan 'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyātin Liqawmin Yasma`ūna
It is God who has made the night for you to rest and has filled the day with light (as a means of visibility). In this there is evidence (of the existence of God) for the people who hear
Ayah 68
Qaloo ittakhatha Allahu waladan subhanahu huwa alghaniyyu lahu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi in AAindakum min sultanin bihatha ataqooloona AAala Allahi ma la taAAlamoona
Qālū Attakhadha Allāhu Waladāan Subĥānahu Huwa Al-Ghanīyu Lahu Mā Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Mā Fī Al-'Arđi 'In `Indakum Min Sulţānin Bihadhā 'Ataqūlūna `Alá Allāhi Mā Lā Ta`lamūna
Some people have said that God has begotten a son. God is too Glorious to have a son! God is Self-sufficient and to Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. In this, you (people) have no authority. Do you ascribe to God things of which you have no knowledge
Ayah 69
Qul inna allatheena yaftaroona AAala Allahi alkathiba la yuflihoona
Qul 'Inna Al-Ladhīna Yaftarūna `Alá Allāhi Al-Kadhiba Lā Yufliĥūna
(Muhammad), tell them, "Those who invent falsehood against God will have no happiness
Ayah 70
MataAAun fee alddunya thumma ilayna marjiAAuhum thumma nutheequhumu alAAathaba alshshadeeda bima kanoo yakfuroona
Matā`un Fī Ad-Dunyā Thumma 'Ilaynā Marji`uhum Thumma Nudhīquhumu Al-`Adhāba Ash-Shadīda Bimā Kānū Yakfurūna
They may consider it a means of enjoyment in this life but (on the Day of Judgment) they will all return to Us. Then they will suffer for their disbelief the most severe punishment
Ayah 71
Waotlu AAalayhim nabaa noohin ith qala liqawmihi ya qawmi in kana kabura AAalaykum maqamee watathkeeree biayati Allahi faAAala Allahi tawakkaltu faajmiAAoo amrakum washurakaakum thumma la yakun amrukum AAalaykum ghummatan thumma iqdoo ilayya wala tunthirooni
Wa Atlu `Alayhim Naba'a Nūĥin 'Idh Qāla Liqawmihi Yā Qawmi 'In Kāna Kabura `Alaykum Maqāmī Wa Tadhkīrī Bi'āyā Ti Allāhi Fa`alá Allāhi Tawakkaltu Fa'ajmi`ū 'Amrakum Wa Shurakā'akum Thumma Lā Yakun 'Amrukum `Alaykum Ghummatan Thumma Aqđū 'Ilayya Wa Lā Tunžirūni
(Muhammad), tell them the story of Noah who told his people, "Even if my belief and my preaching of the revelation of God seem strange to you, I put my trust in Him. Unite yourselves and seek help from your idols. You should not regret what you want to do, but should execute your plans against me without delay
Ayah 72
Fain tawallaytum fama saaltukum min ajrin in ajriya illa AAala Allahi waomirtu an akoona mina almuslimeena
Fa'in Tawallaytum Famā Sa'altukum Min 'Ajrin 'In 'Ajrī 'Illā `Alá Allāhi Wa 'Umirtu 'An 'Akūna Mina Al-Muslimīna
If you turn away from my preaching, it will not harm me; I shall receive my reward from God who has commanded me to become a Muslim
Ayah 73
Fakaththaboohu fanajjaynahu waman maAAahu fee alfulki wajaAAalnahum khalaifa waaghraqna allatheena kaththaboo biayatina faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almunthareena
Fakadhabūhu Fanajjaynāhu Wa Man Ma`ahu Fī Al-Fulki Wa Ja`alnāhum Khalā'ifa Wa 'Aghraqnā Al-Ladhīna Kadhabū Bi'āyātinā Fānžur Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Al-Mundharīna
They rejected Noah. Then We saved him and his people in the Ark to make them the successors of the rest. The others, who had called Our revelations lies, were drowned. Consider the fate of those who (rejected) Our warnings
Ayah 74
Thumma baAAathna min baAAdihi rusulan ila qawmihim fajaoohum bialbayyinati fama kanoo liyuminoo bima kaththaboo bihi min qablu kathalika natbaAAu AAala quloobi almuAAtadeena
Thumma Ba`athnā Min Ba`dihi Rusulāan 'Ilá Qawmihim Fajā'ūhum Bil-Bayyināti Famā Kānū Liyu'uminū Bimā Kadhabū Bihi Min Qablu Kadhālika Naţba`u `Alá Qulūbi Al-Mu`tadīna
After (Noah) We sent other Messengers to their people with clear authoritative evidence proving their prophetic claims). But how could the people believe what they had previously called lies? Thus do We seal the hearts of the transgressors
Ayah 75
Thumma baAAathna min baAAdihim moosa waharoona ila firAAawna wamalaihi biayatina faistakbaroo wakanoo qawman mujrimeena
Thumma Ba`athnā Min Ba`dihim Mūsá Wa Hārūna 'Ilá Fir`awna Wa Mala'ihi Bi'āyātinā Fāstakbarū Wa Kānū Qawmāan Mujrimīna
Then We sent Moses and Aaron with Our miracles to the Pharaoh and his people. These people also proved to be arrogant. They were wicked people
Ayah 76
Falamma jaahumu alhaqqu min AAindina qaloo inna hatha lasihrun mubeenun
Falammā Jā'ahumu Al-Ĥaqqu Min `Indinā Qālū 'Inna Hādhā Lasiĥrun Mubīnun
When the Truth from Us came, they called it simply magic
Ayah 77
Qala moosa ataqooloona lilhaqqi lamma jaakum asihrun hatha wala yuflihu alssahiroona
Qāla Mūsá 'Ataqūlūna Lilĥaqqi Lammā Jā'akum 'Asiĥrun Hādhā Wa Lā Yufliĥu As-Sāĥirūna
Moses asked, "Why do you call the Truth which has come to you magic? Magicians, certainly, will not have happiness
Ayah 78
Qaloo ajitana litalfitana AAamma wajadna AAalayhi abaana watakoona lakuma alkibriyao fee alardi wama nahnu lakuma bimumineena
Qālū 'Aji'tanā Litalfitanā `Ammā Wajadnā `Alayhi 'Ābā'anā Wa Takūna Lakumā Al-Kibriyā'u Fī Al-'Arđi Wa Mā Naĥnu Lakumā Bimu'uminīna
They asked Moses, "Have you come to turn us away from the faith of our fathers and to make yourselves the rulers in the land? We shall never accept your faith
Ayah 79
Waqala firAAawnu itoonee bikulli sahirin AAaleemin
Wa Qāla Fir`awnu A'tūnī Bikulli Sāĥirin `Alīmin
The Pharaoh ordered every skillful magician to come into his presence
Ayah 80
Falamma jaa alssaharatu qala lahum moosa alqoo ma antum mulqoona
Falammā Jā'a As-Saĥaratu Qāla Lahum Mūsá 'Alqū Mā 'Antum Mulqūna
When all the magicians were brought to his court, Moses asked them to cast down what they wanted to
Ayah 81
Falamma alqaw qala moosa ma jitum bihi alssihru inna Allaha sayubtiluhu inna Allaha la yuslihu AAamala almufsideena
Falammā 'Alqaw Qāla Mūsá Mā Ji'tum Bihi As-Siĥru 'Inna Allāha Sayubţiluhu 'Inna Allāha Lā Yuşliĥu `Amala Al-Mufsidīna
When the magicians had thrown theirs, Moses said, "What you have performed is magic. God will certainly prove it to be false; He will not make the deeds of the corrupt people righteous
Ayah 82
Wayuhiqqu Allahu alhaqqa bikalimatihi walaw kariha almujrimoona
Wa Yuĥiqqu Allāhu Al-Ĥaqqa Bikalimātihi Wa Law Kariha Al-Mujrimūna
God will make the Truth stand supreme by His words, even though the wicked people dislike it
Ayah 83
Fama amana limoosa illa thurriyyatun min qawmihi AAala khawfin min firAAawna wamalaihim an yaftinahum wainna firAAawna laAAalin fee alardi wainnahu lamina almusrifeena
Famā 'Āmana Limūsá 'Illā Dhurrīyatun Min Qawmihi `Alá Khawfin Min Fir`awna Wa Mala'ihim 'An Yaftinahum Wa 'Inna Fir`awna La`ālin Fī Al-'Arđi Wa 'Innahu Lamina Al-Musrifīna
No one believed in Moses except some young people of his own tribe who were at the same time very afraid of the persecution of the Pharaoh and his people. The Pharaoh was certainly a tyrant and a transgressor
Ayah 84
Waqala moosa ya qawmi in kuntum amantum biAllahi faAAalayhi tawakkaloo in kuntum muslimeena
Wa Qāla Mūsá Yā Qawmi 'In Kuntum 'Āmantum Billāhi Fa`alayhi Tawakkalū 'In Kuntum Muslimīna
Moses told his people, "If you have submitted yourselves to God and have faith in Him, put your trust in Him
Ayah 85
Faqaloo AAala Allahi tawakkalna rabbana la tajAAalna fitnatan lilqawmi alththalimeena
Faqālū `Alá Allāhi Tawakkalnā Rabbanā Lā Taj`alnā Fitnatan Lilqawmi Až-Žālimīna
They said, "In God do we trust. Lord, do not subject us to the persecution of the unjust ones
Ayah 86
Wanajjina birahmatika mina alqawmi alkafireena
Wa Najjinā Biraĥmatika Mina Al-Qawmi Al-Kāfirīna
Lord, save us, through Your mercy, from the disbelieving people
Ayah 87
Waawhayna ila moosa waakheehi an tabawwaa liqawmikuma bimisra buyootan waijAAaloo buyootakum qiblatan waaqeemoo alssalata wabashshiri almumineena
Wa 'Awĥaynā 'Ilá Mūsá Wa 'Akhīhi 'An Tabawwa'ā Liqawmikumā Bimişra Buyūtāan Wa Aj`alū Buyūtakum Qiblatan Wa 'Aqīmū Aş-Şalāata Wa Bashiri Al-Mu'uminīna
We sent a revelation to Moses and his brother to build houses for their people in the Pharaoh's town and to build them facing one another. (We told him) that therein they should pray and that Moses should give the glad news (of God's mercy) to the faithful ones
Ayah 88
Waqala moosa rabbana innaka atayta firAAawna wamalaahu zeenatan waamwalan fee alhayati alddunya rabbana liyudilloo AAan sabeelika rabbana itmis AAala amwalihim waoshdud AAala quloobihim fala yuminoo hatta yarawoo alAAathaba alaleema
Wa Qāla Mūsá Rabbanā 'Innaka 'Ātayta Fir`awna Wa Mala'ahu Zīnatan Wa 'Amwālāan Fī Al-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Rabbanā Liyuđillū `An Sabīlika Rabbanā Aţmis `Alá 'Amwālihim Wa Ashdud `Alá Qulūbihim Falā Yu'uminū Ĥattá Yaraw Al-`Adhāba Al-'Alīma
Moses said, "Lord, You have given the Pharaoh and his people great riches and splendor in this life and this makes them stray from Your path. Lord, destroy their wealth and harden their hearts in disbelief so that they will suffer the most painful torment
Ayah 89
Qala qad ojeebat daAAwatukuma faistaqeema wala tattabiAAanni sabeela allatheena la yaAAlamoona
Qāla Qad 'Ujībat Da`watukumā Fāstaqīmā Wa Lā Tattabi`āni Sabīla Al-Ladhīna Lā Ya`lamūna
The Lord replied, "Moses, the prayer of your brother and yourself has been heard. Both of you must be steadfast (in your faith) and must not follow the ignorant ones
Ayah 90
Wajawazna bibanee israeela albahra faatbaAAahum firAAawnu wajunooduhu baghyan waAAadwan hatta itha adrakahu algharaqu qala amantu annahu la ilaha illa allathee amanat bihi banoo israeela waana mina almuslimeena
Wa Jāwaznā Bibanī 'Isrā'īla Al-Baĥra Fa'atba`ahum Fir`awnu Wa Junūduhu Baghyāan Wa`adwan Ĥattá 'Idhā 'Adrakahu Al-Gharaqu Qāla 'Āmantu 'Annahu Lā 'Ilāha 'Illā Al-Ladhī 'Āmanat Bihi Banū 'Isrā'īla Wa 'Anā Mina Al-Muslimīna
We helped the children of Israel cross the sea safely. The Pharaoh and his army pursued the children of Israel with wickedness and hate until the Pharaoh was drowned. As he was drowning the Pharaoh said, "I declare that there is no God but the One in whom the children of Israel believe and I have submitted to the Word of God
Ayah 91
Alana waqad AAasayta qablu wakunta mina almufsideena
Āl'āna Wa Qad `Aşayta Qablu Wa Kunta Mina Al-Mufsidīna
(God replied), "Now you declare belief in Me! but before this you were a disobedient rebel
Ayah 92
Faalyawma nunajjeeka bibadanika litakoona liman khalfaka ayatan wainna katheeran mina alnnasi AAan ayatina laghafiloona
Fālyawma Nunajjīka Bibadanika Litakūna Liman Khalfaka 'Āyatan Wa 'Inna Kathīrāan Mina An-Nāsi `An 'Āyātinā Laghāfilūna
We will save your body on this day so that you may become evidence (of Our existence) for the coming generations; many people are unaware of such evidence
Ayah 93
Walaqad bawwana banee israeela mubawwaa sidqin warazaqnahum mina alttayyibati fama ikhtalafoo hatta jaahumu alAAilmu inna rabbaka yaqdee baynahum yawma alqiyamati feema kanoo feehi yakhtalifoona
Wa Laqad Bawwa'nā Banī 'Isrā'īla Mubawwa'a Şidqin Wa Razaqnāhum Mina Aţ-Ţayyibāti Famā Akhtalafū Ĥattá Jā'ahumu Al-`Ilmu 'Inna Rabbaka Yaqđī Baynahum Yawma Al-Qiyāmati Fīmā Kānū Fīhi Yakhtalifūna
We settled the children of Israel in a blessed land and provided them with pure sustenance. They did not create differences among themselves until after the knowledge had come to them. God will judge their differences on the Day of Judgment
Ayah 94
Fain kunta fee shakkin mimma anzalnna ilayka faisali allatheena yaqraoona alkitaba min qablika laqad jaaka alhaqqu min rabbika fala takoonanna mina almumtareena
Fa'in Kunta Fī Shakkin Mimmā 'Anzalnā 'Ilayka Fās'ali Al-Ladhīna Yaqra'ūna Al-Kitāba Min Qablika Laqad Jā'aka Al-Ĥaqqu Min Rabbika Falā Takūnanna Mina Al-Mumtarīna
If you (people) have any doubt about what We have revealed to you (about the Day of Judgment and other matters of belief), ask those who read the Book that was revealed (to the Prophets who lived) before you. The truth has certainly come to you from your Lord. Thus, do not doubt it (in your heart)
Ayah 95
Wala takoonanna mina allatheena kaththaboo biayati Allahi fatakoona mina alkhasireena
Wa Lā Takūnanna Mina Al-Ladhīna Kadhabū Bi'āyāti Allāhi Fatakūna Mina Al-Khāsirīna
nor be of those who have called God's revelations lies lest you become lost
Ayah 96
Inna allatheena haqqat AAalayhim kalimatu rabbika la yuminoona
Inna Al-Ladhīna Ĥaqqat `Alayhim Kalimatu Rabbika Lā Yu'uminūna
(Even though all kinds of miracles will be shown to them) those about whom the word of your Lord has been ordained, will not have faith
Ayah 97
Walaw jaathum kullu ayatin hatta yarawoo alAAathaba alaleema
Wa Law Jā'at/hum Kullu 'Āyatin Ĥattá Yaraw Al-`Adhāba Al-'Alīma
until they face the most painful torment
Ayah 98
Falawla kanat qaryatun amanat fanafaAAaha eemanuha illa qawma yoonusa lamma amanoo kashafna AAanhum AAathaba alkhizyi fee alhayati alddunya wamattaAAnahum ila heenin
Falawlā Kānat Qaryatun 'Āmanat Fanafa`ahā 'Īmānuhā 'Illā Qawma Yūnis Lammā 'Āmanū Kashafnā `Anhum `Adhāba Al-Khizyi Fī Al-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Wa Matta`nāhum 'Ilá Ĥīnin
Why did no one except the people of Jonah believe (in their punishment before their death) so that they could have benefitted from their faith? When the people of Jonah believed, We saved them from a disgraceful torment in this life and provided them with the means of enjoyment for an appointed time
Ayah 99
Walaw shaa rabbuka laamana man fee alardi kulluhum jameeAAan afaanta tukrihu alnnasa hatta yakoonoo mumineena
Wa Law Shā'a Rabbuka La'āmana Man Fī Al-'Arđi Kulluhum Jamī`āan 'Afa'anta Tukrihu An-Nāsa Ĥattá Yakūnū Mu'uminīna
Had your Lord wished, the whole of mankind would have believed in Him. (Muhammad), do you force people to have faith
Ayah 100
Wama kana linafsin an tumina illa biithni Allahi wayajAAalu alrrijsa AAala allatheena la yaAAqiloona
Wa Mā Kāna Linafsin 'An Tu'umina 'Illā Bi'idhni Allāhi Wa Yaj`alu Ar-Rijsa `Alá Al-Ladhīna Lā Ya`qilūna
No one can have faith without the permission of God. God will cast down filth on those who have no understanding
Ayah 101
Quli onthuroo matha fee alssamawati waalardi wama tughnee alayatu waalnnuthuru AAan qawmin la yuminoona
Qul Anžurū Mādhā Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Mā Tughnī Al-'Āyātu Wa An-Nudhuru `An Qawmin Lā Yu'uminūna
(Muhammad), tell them to consider that which is in the heavens and the earth. Evidence and warnings are of no avail to the disbelieving people
Ayah 102
Fahal yantathiroona illa mithla ayyami allatheena khalaw min qablihim qul faintathiroo innee maAAakum mina almuntathireena
Fahal Yantažirūna 'Illā Mithla 'Ayyāmi Al-Ladhīna Khalaw Min Qablihim Qul Fāntažirū 'Innī Ma`akum Mina Al-Muntažirīna
What can they expect other than the kind of (punishment that befell the disbelieving people) who had gone before them? (Muhammad), tell them, "Wait and I too will be waiting with you
Ayah 103
Thumma nunajjee rusulana waallatheena amanoo kathalika haqqan AAalayna nunjee almumineena
Thumma Nunajjī Rusulanā Wa Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Kadhālika Ĥaqqāan `Alaynā Nunji Al-Mu'uminīna
We saved Our Messengers and those who believed; We must save the believers
Ayah 104
Qul ya ayyuha alnnasu in kuntum fee shakkin min deenee fala aAAbudu allatheena taAAbudoona min dooni Allahi walakin aAAbudu Allaha allathee yatawaffakum waomirtu an akoona mina almumineena
Qul Yā 'Ayyuhā An-Nāsu 'In Kuntum Fī Shakkin Min Dīnī Falā 'A`budu Al-Ladhīna Ta`budūna Min Dūni Allāhi Wa Lakin 'A`budu Allāha Al-Ladhī Yatawaffākum Wa 'Umirtu 'An 'Akūna Mina Al-Mu'uminīna
(Muhammad), say, "People, if you have doubt about my religion, know that I, certainly, do not worship the idols which you worship instead of God, but I worship God who causes you to die. I am commanded to believe (in His existence)
Ayah 105
Waan aqim wajhaka lilddeeni haneefan wala takoonanna mina almushrikeena
Wa 'An 'Aqim Wajhaka Lilddīni Ĥanīfāan Wa Lā Takūnanna Mina Al-Mushrikīna
to have firm belief in the up-right religion and not to be an idolater
Ayah 106
Wala tadAAu min dooni Allahi ma la yanfaAAuka wala yadurruka fain faAAalta fainnaka ithan mina alththalimeena
Wa Lā Tad`u Min Dūni Allāhi Mā Lā Yanfa`uka Wa Lā Yađurruka Fa'in Fa`alta Fa'innaka 'Idhāan Mina Až-Žālimīna
nor to seek help from anyone other than God [who can neither benefit nor harm me], lest I become of the unjust
Ayah 107
Wain yamsaska Allahu bidurrin fala kashifa lahu illa huwa wain yuridka bikhayrin fala radda lifadlihi yuseebu bihi man yashao min AAibadihi wahuwa alghafooru alrraheemu
Wa 'In Yamsaska Allāhu Biđurrin Falā Kāshifa Lahu 'Illā Huwa Wa 'In Yuridka Bikhayrin Falā Rādda Lifađlihi Yuşību Bihi Man Yashā'u Min `Ibādihi Wa Huwa Al-Ghafūru Ar-Raĥīmu
(Muhammad), if God afflicts you with hardship, no one besides Him can save you. If God grants you a favor, no one can prevent you from receiving His favors. God bestows His favors upon whichever of His servants He wants. God is All-forgiving and All-merciful
Ayah 108
Qul ya ayyuha alnnasu qad jaakumu alhaqqu min rabbikum famani ihtada fainnama yahtadee linafsihi waman dalla fainnama yadillu AAalayha wama ana AAalaykum biwakeelin
Qul Yā 'Ayyuhā An-Nāsu Qad Jā'akumu Al-Ĥaqqu Min Rabbikum Famani Ahtadá Fa'innamā Yahtadī Linafsihi Wa Man Đalla Fa'innamā Yađillu `Alayhā Wa Mā 'Anā `Alaykum Biwakīlin
(Muhammad), say, "People, truth has certainly come to you from your Lord. One who seeks guidance does so for his own good and One who goes astray will find himself lost. I am not your keeper
Ayah 109
WaittabiAA ma yooha ilayka waisbir hatta yahkuma Allahu wahuwa khayru alhakimeena
Wa Attabi` Mā Yūĥá 'Ilayka Wa Aşbir Ĥattá Yaĥkuma Allāhu Wa Huwa Khayru Al-Ĥākimīna
(Muhammad), follow what is revealed to you and have patience until God issues His Judgment; He is the best Judge
