Surah 25

Al-Furqaan

The Criterion

سُورَةُ الفُرۡقَانِ

Meccan 77 Verses

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1

Ayah 1

Tabaraka allathee nazzala alfurqana AAala AAabdihi liyakoona lilAAalameena natheeran

Tabāraka Al-Ladhī Nazzala Al-Furqāna `Alá `Abdihi Liyakūna Lil`ālamīna Nadhīrāan

Blessed is He who sent down the Criterion to His servant that he may be a warner to all the nations

Ayah 2

Allathee lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi walam yattakhith waladan walam yakun lahu shareekun fee almulki wakhalaqa kulla shayin faqaddarahu taqdeeran

Al-Ladhī Lahu Mulku As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Lam Yattakhidh Waladāan Wa Lam Yakun Lahu Sharīkun Fī Al-Mulki Wa Khalaqa Kulla Shay'in Faqaddarahu Taqdīrāan

He, to whom belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, and who did not take any offspring, nor has He any partner in sovereignty, and He created everything and determined it in a precise measure

Ayah 3

Waittakhathoo min doonihi alihatan la yakhluqoona shayan wahum yukhlaqoona wala yamlikoona lianfusihim darran wala nafAAan wala yamlikoona mawtan wala hayatan wala nushooran

Wa Attakhadhū Min Dūnihi 'Ālihatan Lā Yakhluqūna Shay'āan Wa Hum Yukhlaqūna Wa Lā Yamlikūna Li'nfusihim Đarrāan Wa Lā Naf`āan Wa Lā Yamlikūna Mawtāan Wa Lā Ĥayāatan Wa Lā Nushūrāan

Yet they have taken gods besides Him who create nothing and have themselves been created, and who have no control over their own harm or benefit and have no control over [their own] death, life, or resurrection

Ayah 4

Waqala allatheena kafaroo in hatha illa ifkun iftarahu waaAAanahu AAalayhi qawmun akharoona faqad jaoo thulman wazooran

Wa Qāla Al-Ladhīna Kafarū 'In Hādhā 'Illā 'Ifkun Aftarāhu Wa 'A`ānahu `Alayhi Qawmun 'Ākharūna Faqad Jā'ū Žulmāan Wa Zūrāan

The faithless say, ‘This is nothing but a lie that he has fabricated, and other people have abetted him in it.’ Thus they have certainly come out with wrongdoing and falsehood

Ayah 5

Waqaloo asateeru alawwaleena iktatabaha fahiya tumla AAalayhi bukratan waaseelan

Wa Qālū 'Asāţīru Al-'Awwalīna Aktatabahā Fahiya Tumlá `Alayhi Bukratan Wa 'Aşīlāan

They say, ‘He has taken down myths of the ancients, and they are dictated to him morning and evening.’

Ayah 6

Qul anzalahu allathee yaAAlamu alssirra fee alssamawati waalardi innahu kana ghafooran raheeman

Qul 'Anzalahu Al-Ladhī Ya`lamu As-Sirra Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi 'Innahu Kāna Ghafūrāan Raĥīmāan

Say, ‘It has been sent down by Him who knows the hidden in the heavens and the earth. Indeed He is all-forgiving, all-merciful.’

Ayah 7

Waqaloo mali hatha alrrasooli yakulu alttaAAama wayamshee fee alaswaqi lawla onzila ilayhi malakun fayakoona maAAahu natheeran

Wa Qālū Māli Hādhā Ar-Rasūli Ya'kulu Aţ-Ţa`āma Wa Yamshī Fī Al-'Aswāqi Lawlā 'Unzila 'Ilayhi Malakun Fayakūna Ma`ahu Nadhīrāan

And they say, ‘What sort of apostle is this who eats food and walks in the marketplaces? Why has not an angel been sent down to him so as to be a warner along with him?’

Ayah 8

Aw yulqa ilayhi kanzun aw takoonu lahu jannatun yakulu minha waqala alththalimoona in tattabiAAoona illa rajulan mashooran

Aw Yulqá 'Ilayhi Kanzun 'Aw Takūnu Lahu Jannatun Ya'kulu Minhā Wa Qāla Až-Žālimūna 'In Tattabi`ūna 'Illā Rajulāan Masĥūrāan

Or, ‘[Why is not] a treasure thrown to him, or [why does] he [not] have a garden from which he may eat?’ And the wrongdoers say, ‘You are just following a bewitched man.’

Ayah 9

Onthur kayfa daraboo laka alamthala fadalloo fala yastateeAAoona sabeelan

Anžur Kayfa Đarabū Laka Al-'Amthāla Fađallū Falā Yastaţī`ūna Sabīlāan

Look, how they coin epithets for you; so they go astray, and cannot find the way

Ayah 10

Tabaraka allathee in shaa jaAAala laka khayran min thalika jannatin tajree min tahtiha alanharu wayajAAal laka qusooran

Tabāraka Al-Ladhī 'In Shā'a Ja`ala Laka Khayrāan Min Dhālika Jannātin Tajrī Min Taĥtihā Al-'Anhāru Wa Yaj`al Laka Quşūrāan

Blessed is He who will grant you better than that if He wishes—gardens with streams running in them, and He will make for you palaces

Ayah 11

Bal kaththaboo bialssaAAati waaAAtadna liman kaththaba bialssaAAati saAAeeran

Bal Kadhabū Bis-Sā`ati Wa 'A`tadnā Liman Kadhaba Bis-Sā`ati Sa`īrāan

Indeed, they deny the Hour, and We have prepared a Blaze for those who deny the Hour

Ayah 12

Itha raathum min makanin baAAeedin samiAAoo laha taghayyuthan wazafeeran

Idhā Ra'at/hum Min Makānin Ba`īdin Sami`ū Lahā Taghayyužāan Wa Zafīrāan

When it sights them from a distant place, they will hear it raging and roaring

13

Ayah 13

Waitha olqoo minha makanan dayyiqan muqarraneena daAAaw hunalika thubooran

Wa 'Idhā 'Ulqū Minhā Makānāan Đayyiqāan Muqarranīna Da`aw Hunālika Thubūrāan

And when they are cast into a narrow place in it, bound together [in chains], they will pray for [their own] annihilation

Ayah 14

La tadAAoo alyawma thubooran wahidan waodAAoo thubooran katheeran

Lā Tad`ū Al-Yawma Thubūrāan Wāĥidāan Wa Ad`ū Thubūrāan Kathīrāan

[They will be told:] ‘Do not pray for a single annihilation today, but pray for many annihilations!’

Ayah 15

Qul athalika khayrun am jannatu alkhuldi allatee wuAAida almuttaqoona kanat lahum jazaan wamaseeran

Qul 'Adhalika Khayrun 'Am Jannatu Al-Khuldi Allatī Wu`ida Al-Muttaqūna Kānat Lahum Jazā'an Wa Maşīrāan

Say, ‘Is that better, or the everlasting paradise promised to the Godwary, which will be their reward and destination?’

Ayah 16

Lahum feeha ma yashaoona khalideena kana AAala rabbika waAAdan masoolan

Lahum Fīhā Mā Yashā'ūna Khālidīna Kāna `Alá Rabbika Wa`dāan Mas'ūlāan

There they will have whatever they wish, abiding [forever]—a promise [much] besought, [binding] on your Lord

17

Ayah 17

Wayawma yahshuruhum wama yaAAbudoona min dooni Allahi fayaqoolu aantum adlaltum AAibadee haolai am hum dalloo alssabeela

Wa Yawma Yaĥshuruhum Wa Mā Ya`budūna Min Dūni Allāhi Fayaqūlu 'A'antum 'Ađlaltum `Ibādī Hā'uulā' 'Am Hum Đallū As-Sabīla

On the day that He will muster them and those whom they worship besides Allah, He will say, ‘Was it you who led astray these servants of Mine, or did they themselves stray from the way?’

Ayah 18

Qaloo subhanaka ma kana yanbaghee lana an nattakhitha min doonika min awliyaa walakin mattaAAtahum waabaahum hatta nasoo alththikra wakanoo qawman booran

Qālū Subĥānaka Mā Kāna Yanbaghī Lanā 'An Nattakhidha Min Dūnika Min 'Awliyā'a Wa Lakin Matta`tahum Wa 'Ābā'ahum Ĥattá Nasū Adh-Dhikra Wa Kānū Qawmāan Būrāan

They will say, ‘Immaculate are You! It does not behoove us to take any wali in Your stead! But You provided for them and their fathers until they forgot the Reminder, and they were a ruined lot.’

Ayah 19

Faqad kaththabookum bima taqooloona fama tastateeAAoona sarfan wala nasran waman yathlim minkum nuthiqhu AAathaban kabeeran

Faqad Kadhabūkum Bimā Taqūlūna Famā Tastaţī`ūna Şarfāan Wa Lā Naşrāan Wa Man Yažlim Minkum Nudhiqhu `Adhābāan Kabīrāan

So they will certainly impugn you in what you say, and you will neither be able to circumvent [punishment] nor find help, and whoever of you does wrong, We shall make him taste a terrible punishment

Ayah 20

Wama arsalna qablaka mina almursaleena illa innahum layakuloona alttaAAama wayamshoona fee alaswaqi wajaAAalna baAAdakum libaAAdin fitnatan atasbiroona wakana rabbuka baseeran

Wa Mā 'Arsalnā Qablaka Mina Al-Mursalīna 'Illā 'Innahum Laya'kulūna Aţ-Ţa`āma Wa Yamshūna Fī Al-'Aswāqi Wa Ja`alnā Ba`đakum Liba`đin Fitnatan 'Ataşbirūna Wa Kāna Rabbuka Başīrāan

We did not send any apostles before you but that they indeed ate food and walked in marketplaces. We have made you a [means of] test for one another, [to see] if you will be patient and steadfast, and your Lord is all-seeing

21

Ayah 21

Waqala allatheena la yarjoona liqaana lawla onzila AAalayna almalaikatu aw nara rabbana laqadi istakbaroo fee anfusihim waAAataw AAutuwwan kabeeran

Wa Qāla Al-Ladhīna Lā Yarjūna Liqā'anā Lawlā 'Unzila `Alaynā Al-Malā'ikatu 'Aw Nará Rabbanā Laqadi Astakbarū Fī 'Anfusihim Wa `Ataw `Utūwāan Kabīrāan

Those who do not expect to encounter Us say, ‘Why have angels not been sent down to us, or why do we not see our Lord?’ Certainly, they are full of arrogance within their souls and have become terribly defiant

Ayah 22

Yawma yarawna almalaikata la bushra yawmaithin lilmujrimeena wayaqooloona hijran mahjooran

Yawma Yarawna Al-Malā'ikata Lā Bushrá Yawma'idhin Lilmujrimīna Wa Yaqūlūna Ĥijrāan Maĥjūrāan

The day they will see the angels, there will be no good news for the guilty on that day, and they will say, ‘Keep off [from paradise]!’

23

Ayah 23

Waqadimna ila ma AAamiloo min AAamalin fajaAAalnahu habaan manthooran

Wa Qadimnā 'Ilá Mā `Amilū Min `Amalin Faja`alnāhu Habā'an Manthūrāan

Then We shall attend to the works they have done and then turn them into scattered dust

24

Ayah 24

Ashabu aljannati yawmaithin khayrun mustaqarran waahsanu maqeelan

Aşĥābu Al-Jannati Yawma'idhin Khayrun Mustaqarrāan Wa 'Aĥsanu Maqīlāan

On that day the inhabitants of paradise will be in the best abode and an excellent resting place

25

Ayah 25

Wayawma tashaqqaqu alssamao bialghamami wanuzzila almalaikatu tanzeelan

Wa Yawma Tashaqqaqu As-Samā'u Bil-Ghamāmi Wa Nuzzila Al-Malā'ikatu Tanzīlāan

The day when the sky with its clouds will be split open, and the angels will be sent down [in a majestic] descent

26

Ayah 26

Almulku yawmaithin alhaqqu lilrrahmani wakana yawman AAala alkafireena AAaseeran

Al-Mulku Yawma'idhin Al-Ĥaqqu Lilrraĥmani Wa Kāna Yawmāan `Alá Al-Kāfirīna `Asīrāan

on that day true sovereignty will belong to the All-beneficent, and it will be a hard day for the faithless

27

Ayah 27

Wayawma yaAAaddu alththalimu AAala yadayhi yaqoolu ya laytanee ittakhathtu maAAa alrrasooli sabeelan

Wa Yawma Ya`ađđu Až-Žālimu `Alá Yadayhi Yaqūlu Yā Laytanī Attakhadhtu Ma`a Ar-Rasūli Sabīlāan

It will be a day when the wrongdoer will bite his hands, saying, ‘I wish I had followed the Apostle’s way

28

Ayah 28

Ya waylata laytanee lam attakhith fulanan khaleelan

Yā Waylatī Laytanī Lam 'Attakhidh Fulānāan Khalīlāan

Woe to me! I wish I had not taken so and so as a friend

29

Ayah 29

Laqad adallanee AAani alththikri baAAda ith jaanee wakana alshshaytanu lilinsani khathoolan

Laqad 'Ađallanī `Ani Adh-Dhikri Ba`da 'Idh Jā'anī Wa Kāna Ash-Shayţānu Lil'insāni Khadhūlāan

Certainly he led me astray from the Reminder after it had come to me, and Satan is a deserter of man.’

30

Ayah 30

Waqala alrrasoolu ya rabbi inna qawmee ittakhathoo hatha alqurana mahjooran

Wa Qāla Ar-Rasūlu Yā Rabbi 'Inna Qawmī Attakhadhū Hādhā Al-Qur'āna Mahjūrāan

And the Apostle will say, ‘O my Lord! Indeed my people consigned this Quran to oblivion.’

31

Ayah 31

Wakathalika jaAAalna likulli nabiyyin AAaduwwan mina almujrimeena wakafa birabbika hadiyan wanaseeran

Wa Kadhalika Ja`alnā Likulli Nabīyin `Adūwāan Mina Al-Mujrimīna Wa Kafá Birabbika Hādīāan Wa Naşīrāan

That is how for every prophet We assigned an enemy from among the guilty, and your Lord suffices as helper and guide

32

Ayah 32

Waqala allatheena kafaroo lawla nuzzila AAalayhi alquranu jumlatan wahidatan kathalika linuthabbita bihi fuadaka warattalnahu tarteelan

Wa Qāla Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Lawlā Nuzzila `Alayhi Al-Qur'ānu Jumlatan Wāĥidatan Kadhālika Linuthabbita Bihi Fu'uādaka Wa Rattalnāhu Tartīlāan

The faithless say, ‘Why has not the Quran been sent down to him all at once?’ So it was, that We may strengthen your heart with it, and We have recited it [to you] in a measured tone

33

Ayah 33

Wala yatoonaka bimathalin illa jinaka bialhaqqi waahsana tafseeran

Wa Lā Ya'tūnaka Bimathalin 'Illā Ji'nāka Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa 'Aĥsana Tafsīrāan

They do not bring you any representation but that We bring you the truth [in reply to them] and the best exposition

34

Ayah 34

Allatheena yuhsharoona AAala wujoohihim ila jahannama olaika sharrun makanan waadallu sabeelan

Al-Ladhīna Yuĥsharūna `Alá Wujūhihim 'Ilá Jahannama 'Ūlā'ika Sharrun Makānāan Wa 'Ađallu Sabīlāan

Those who will be mustered [fallen] on their faces toward hell, they are the worse situated and further astray from the [right] way

35

Ayah 35

Walaqad atayna moosa alkitaba wajaAAalna maAAahu akhahu haroona wazeeran

Wa Laqad 'Ātaynā Mūsá Al-Kitāba Wa Ja`alnā Ma`ahu 'Akhāhu Hārūna Wazīrāan

Certainly We gave Moses the Book and We made Aaron, his brother, accompany him as a minister

36

Ayah 36

Faqulna ithhaba ila alqawmi allatheena kaththaboo biayatina fadammarnahum tadmeeran

Faqulnā Adh/habā 'Ilá Al-Qawmi Al-Ladhīna Kadhabū Bi'āyātinā Fadammarnāhum Tadmīrāan

Then We said, ‘Let the two of you go to the people who have denied Our signs.’ Then We destroyed them utterly

37

Ayah 37

Waqawma noohin lamma kaththaboo alrrusula aghraqnahum wajaAAalnahum lilnnasi ayatan waaAAtadna lilththalimeena AAathaban aleeman

Wa Qawma Nūĥin Lammā Kadhabū Ar-Rusula 'Aghraqnāhum Wa Ja`alnāhum Lilnnāsi 'Āyatan Wa 'A`tadnā Lilžžālimīna `Adhābāan 'Alīmāan

And Noah’s people, We drowned them when they impugned the apostles, and We made them a sign for mankind, and We have prepared for the wrongdoers a painful punishment

38

Ayah 38

WaAAadan wathamooda waashaba alrrassi waquroonan bayna thalika katheeran

Wa `Ādāan Wa Thamūda Wa 'Aşĥāba Ar-Rassi Wa Qurūnāan Bayna Dhālika Kathīrāan

And ‘Ad and Thamud, and the people of Rass, and many generations between them

39

Ayah 39

Wakullan darabna lahu alamthala wakullan tabbarna tatbeeran

Wa Kullāan Đarabnā Lahu Al-'Amthāla Wa Kullāan Tabbarnā Tatbīrāan

For each of them We drew examples, and each We destroyed utterly

40

Ayah 40

Walaqad ataw AAala alqaryati allatee omtirat matara alssawi afalam yakoonoo yarawnaha bal kanoo la yarjoona nushooran

Wa Laqad 'Ataw `Alá Al-Qaryati Allatī 'Umţirat Maţara As-Saw'i 'Afalam Yakūnū Yarawnahā Bal Kānū Lā Yarjūna Nushūrāan

Certainly they must have passed the town on which an evil shower was rained. Have they not seen it? Rather, they did not expect resurrection [to happen]

41

Ayah 41

Waitha raawka in yattakhithoonaka illa huzuwan ahatha allathee baAAatha Allahu rasoolan

Wa 'Idhā R'awka 'In Yattakhidhūnaka 'Illā Huzūan 'Ahadhā Al-Ladhī Ba`atha Allāhu Rasūlāan

When they see you they just take you in derision: ‘Is this the one whom Allah has sent as an apostle

42

Ayah 42

In kada layudilluna AAan alihatina lawla an sabarna AAalayha wasawfa yaAAlamoona heena yarawna alAAathaba man adallu sabeelan

In Kāda Layuđillunā `An 'Ālihatinā Lawlā 'An Şabarnā `Alayhā Wa Sawfa Ya`lamūna Ĥīna Yarawna Al-`Adhāba Man 'Ađallu Sabīlāan

Indeed he was about to lead us astray from our gods, had we not stood firm by them.’ Soon they will know, when they sight the punishment, who is further astray from the [right] way

43

Ayah 43

Araayta mani ittakhatha ilahahu hawahu afaanta takoonu AAalayhi wakeelan

Ara'ayta Mani Attakhadha 'Ilahahu Hawāhu 'Afa'anta Takūnu `Alayhi Wa Kīlāan

Have you seen him who has taken his desire to be his god? Is it your duty to watch over him

44

Ayah 44

Am tahsabu anna aktharahum yasmaAAoona aw yaAAqiloona in hum illa kaalanAAami bal hum adallu sabeelan

Am Taĥsabu 'Anna 'Aktharahum Yasma`ūna 'Aw Ya`qilūna 'In Hum 'Illā Kāl'an`ām Bal Hum 'Ađallu Sabīlāan

Do you suppose that most of them listen or exercise their reason? They are just like cattle; indeed, they are further astray from the way

45

Ayah 45

Alam tara ila rabbika kayfa madda alththilla walaw shaa lajaAAalahu sakinan thumma jaAAalna alshshamsa AAalayhi daleelan

Alam Tará 'Ilá Rabbika Kayfa Madda Až-Žilla Wa Law Shā'a Laja`alahu Sākināan Thumma Ja`alnā Ash-Shamsa `Alayhi Dalīlāan

Have you not regarded how your Lord spreads the twilight? (Had He wished He would have made it stand still.) Then We made the sun a beacon for it

46

Ayah 46

Thumma qabadnahu ilayna qabdan yaseeran

Thumma Qabađnāhu 'Ilaynā Qabđāan Yasīrāan

Then We retract it toward Ourselves, with a gentle retracting

47

Ayah 47

Wahuwa allathee jaAAala lakumu allayla libasan waalnnawma subatan wajaAAala alnnahara nushooran

Wa Huwa Al-Ladhī Ja`ala Lakumu Al-Layla Libāsāan Wa An-Nawma Subātāan Wa Ja`ala An-Nahāra Nushūrāan

It is He who made for you the night as a covering and sleep for rest and He made the day a recall to life

48

Ayah 48

Wahuwa allathee arsala alrriyaha bushran bayna yaday rahmatihi waanzalna mina alssamai maan tahooran

Wa Huwa Al-Ladhī 'Arsala Ar-Riyāĥa Bushrāan Bayna Yaday Raĥmatihi Wa 'Anzalnā Mina As-Samā'i Mā'an Ţahūrāan

And it is He who sends the winds as harbingers of His mercy, and We send down from the sky purifying water

49

Ayah 49

Linuhyiya bihi baldatan maytan wanusqiyahu mimma khalaqna anAAaman waanasiyya katheeran

Linuĥyiya Bihi Baldatan Maytāan Wa Nusqiyahu Mimmā Khalaqnā 'An`āmāan Wa 'Anāsīya Kathīrāan

with which We revive a dead country and provide water to many of the cattle and humans We have created

50

Ayah 50

Walaqad sarrafnahu baynahum liyaththakkaroo faaba aktharu alnnasi illa kufooran

Wa Laqad Şarrafnāhu Baynahum Liyadhakkarū Fa'abá 'Aktharu An-Nāsi 'Illā Kufūrāan

Certainly We distribute it among them so that they may take admonition. But most people are only intent on ingratitude

51

Ayah 51

Walaw shina labaAAathna fee kulli qaryatin natheeran

Wa Law Shi'nā Laba`athnā Fī Kulli Qaryatin Nadhīrāan

Had We wished, We would have sent a warner to every town

52

Ayah 52

Fala tutiAAi alkafireena wajahidhum bihi jihadan kabeeran

Falā Tuţi`i Al-Kāfirīna Wa Jāhid/hum Bihi Jihādāan Kabīrāan

So do not obey the faithless, but wage a great jihad against them with it

53

Ayah 53

Wahuwa allathee maraja albahrayni hatha AAathbun furatun wahatha milhun ojajun wajaAAala baynahuma barzakhan wahijran mahjooran

Wa Huwa Al-Ladhī Maraja Al-Baĥrayni Hādhā `Adhbun Furātun Wa Hadhā Milĥun 'Ujājun Wa Ja`ala Baynahumā Barzakhāan Wa Ĥijrāan Maĥjūrāan

It is He who merged the two seas: this one sweet and agreeable, and that one briny and bitter, and between the two He set a barrier and a forbidding hindrance

54

Ayah 54

Wahuwa allathee khalaqa mina almai basharan fajaAAalahu nasaban wasihran wakana rabbuka qadeeran

Wa Huwa Al-Ladhī Khalaqa Mina Al-Mā'i Basharāan Faja`alahu Nasabāan Wa Şihrāan Wa Kāna Rabbuka Qadīrāan

It is He who created the human being from water, then invested him with ties of blood and marriage, and your Lord is all-powerful

55

Ayah 55

WayaAAbudoona min dooni Allahi ma la yanfaAAuhum wala yadurruhum wakana alkafiru AAala rabbihi thaheeran

Wa Ya`budūna Min Dūni Allāhi Mā Lā Yanfa`uhum Wa Lā Yađurruhum Wa Kāna Al-Kāfiru `Alá Rabbihi Žahīrāan

They worship besides Allah that which neither brings them any benefit nor causes them any harm, and the faithless one is ever an abettor against his Lord

56

Ayah 56

Wama arsalnaka illa mubashshiran wanatheeran

Wa Mā 'Arsalnāka 'Illā Mubashirāan Wa Nadhīrāan

We did not send you except as a bearer of good news and as a warner

57

Ayah 57

Qul ma asalukum AAalayhi min ajrin illa man shaa an yattakhitha ila rabbihi sabeelan

Qul Mā 'As'alukum `Alayhi Min 'Ajrin 'Illā Man Shā'a 'An Yattakhidha 'Ilá Rabbihi Sabīlāan

Say, ‘I do not ask you any reward for it, except that anyone who wishes should take the way to his Lord.’

Ayah 58

Watawakkal AAala alhayyi allathee la yamootu wasabbih bihamdihi wakafa bihi bithunoobi AAibadihi khabeeran

Wa Tawakkal `Alá Al-Ĥayyi Al-Ladhī Lā Yamūtu Wa Sabbiĥ Biĥamdihi Wa Kafá Bihi Bidhunūbi `Ibādihi Khabīrāan

Put your trust in the Living One who does not die, and celebrate His praise. He suffices as one all-aware of the sins of His servants

Ayah 59

Allathee khalaqa alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma fee sittati ayyamin thumma istawa AAala alAAarshi alrrahmanu faisal bihi khabeeran

Al-Ladhī Khalaqa As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa Wa Mā Baynahumā Fī Sittati 'Ayyāmin Thumma Astawá `Alá Al-`Arshi Ar-Raĥmānu Fās'al Bihi Khabīrāan

He, who created the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them in six days, and then settled on the Throne, the All-beneficent; so ask someone who is well aware about Him

Ayah 60

Waitha qeela lahumu osjudoo lilrrahmani qaloo wama alrrahmanu anasjudu lima tamuruna wazadahum nufooran

Wa 'Idhā Qīla Lahum Asjudū Lilrraĥmani Qālū Wa Mā Ar-Raĥmānu 'Anasjudu Limā Ta'murunā Wa Zādahum Nufūrāan

When they are told: ‘Prostrate yourselves before the All-beneficent,’ they say, ‘What is ‘‘the All-beneficent’’? Shall we prostrate ourselves before whatever you bid us?’ And it increases their aversion

Ayah 61

Tabaraka allathee jaAAala fee alssamai buroojan wajaAAala feeha sirajan waqamaran muneeran

Tabāraka Al-Ladhī Ja`ala Fī As-Samā'i Burūjāan Wa Ja`ala Fīhā Sirājāan Wa Qamarāan Munīrāan

Blessed is He who appointed houses in the sky and set in it a lamp and a shining moon

Ayah 62

Wahuwa allathee jaAAala allayla waalnnahara khilfatan liman arada an yaththakkara aw arada shukooran

Wa Huwa Al-Ladhī Ja`ala Al-Layla Wa An-Nahāra Khilfatan Liman 'Arāda 'An Yadhakkara 'Aw 'Arāda Shukūrāan

It is He who made the night and the day alternate for someone who desires to take admonition, or desires to give thanks

Ayah 63

WaAAibadu alrrahmani allatheena yamshoona AAala alardi hawnan waitha khatabahumu aljahiloona qaloo salaman

Wa `Ibādu Ar-Raĥmāni Al-Ladhīna Yamshūna `Alá Al-'Arđi Hawnāan Wa 'Idhā Khāţabahumu Al-Jāhilūna Qālū Salāmāan

The servants of the All-beneficent are those who walk humbly on the earth, and when the ignorant address them, say, ‘Peace!’

Ayah 64

Waallatheena yabeetoona lirabbihim sujjadan waqiyaman

Wa Al-Ladhīna Yabītūna Lirabbihim Sujjadāan Wa Qiyāmāan

Those who spend the night for their Lord, prostrating and standing [in worship]

65

Ayah 65

Waallatheena yaqooloona rabbana isrif AAanna AAathaba jahannama inna AAathabaha kana gharaman

Wa Al-Ladhīna Yaqūlūna Rabbanā Aşrif `Annā `Adhāba Jahannama 'Inna `Adhābahā Kāna Gharāmāan

Those who say, ‘Our Lord! Turn away from us the punishment of hell. Indeed its punishment is enduring

Ayah 66

Innaha saat mustaqarran wamuqaman

Innahā Sā'at Mustaqarrāan Wa Muqāmāan

Indeed it is an evil station and abode.’

67

Ayah 67

Waallatheena itha anfaqoo lam yusrifoo walam yaqturoo wakana bayna thalika qawaman

Wa Al-Ladhīna 'Idhā 'Anfaqū Lam Yusrifū Wa Lam Yaqturū Wa Kāna Bayna Dhālika Qawāmāan

Those who are neither wasteful nor tightfisted when spending, but balanced between these [two extremes]

68

Ayah 68

Waallatheena la yadAAoona maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara wala yaqtuloona alnnafsa allatee harrama Allahu illa bialhaqqi wala yaznoona waman yafAAal thalika yalqa athaman

Wa Al-Ladhīna Lā Yad`ūna Ma`a Allāhi 'Ilahāan 'Ākhara Wa Lā Yaqtulūna An-Nafsa Allatī Ĥarrama Allāhu 'Illā Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Lā Yaznūna Wa Man Yaf`al Dhālika Yalqa 'Athāmāan

Those who do not invoke another deity besides Allah, and do not kill a soul [whose life] Allah has made inviolable, except with due cause, and do not commit fornication. (Whoever does that shall encounter its retribution)

Ayah 69

YudaAAaf lahu alAAathabu yawma alqiyamati wayakhlud feehi muhanan

Yuđā`af Lahu Al-`Adhābu Yawma Al-Qiyāmati Wa Yakhlud Fīhi Muhānāan

the punishment being doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection. In it he will abide in humiliation forever

70

Ayah 70

Illa man taba waamana waAAamila AAamalan salihan faolaika yubaddilu Allahu sayyiatihim hasanatin wakana Allahu ghafooran raheeman

Illā Man Tāba Wa 'Āmana Wa `Amila `Amalāan Şāliĥāan Fa'ūlā'ika Yubaddilu Allāhu Sayyi'ātihim Ĥasanātin Wa Kāna Allāhu Ghafūrāan Raĥīmāan

except those who repent, attain faith, and act righteously. For such, Allah will replace their misdeeds with good deeds, and Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful

Ayah 71

Waman taba waAAamila salihan fainnahu yatoobu ila Allahi mataban

Wa Man Tāba Wa `Amila Şāliĥāan Fa'innahu Yatūbu 'Ilá Allāhi Matābāan

And whoever repents and acts righteously indeed turns to Allah with due penitence

72

Ayah 72

Waallatheena la yashhadoona alzzoora waitha marroo biallaghwi marroo kiraman

Wa Al-Ladhīna Lā Yash/hadūna Az-Zūra Wa 'Idhā Marrū Bil-Laghwi Marrū Kirāmāan

Those who do not give false testimony, and when they come upon frivolity, pass by with dignity

Ayah 73

Waallatheena itha thukkiroo biayati rabbihim lam yakhirroo AAalayha summan waAAumyanan

Wa Al-Ladhīna 'Idhā Dhukkirū Bi'āyāti Rabbihim Lam Yakhirrū `Alayhā Şummāan Wa `Umyānāan

Those who, when reminded of the signs of their Lord, do not turn a deaf ear and a blind eye to them

Ayah 74

Waallatheena yaqooloona rabbana hab lana min azwajina wathurriyyatina qurrata aAAyunin waijAAalna lilmuttaqeena imaman

Wa Al-Ladhīna Yaqūlūna Rabbanā Hab Lanā Min 'Azwājinā Wa Dhurrīyātinā Qurrata 'A`yunin Wa Aj`alnā Lilmuttaqīna 'Imāmāan

And those who say, ‘Our Lord! Give us joy and comfort in our spouses and offspring, and make us imams of the Godwary.’

75

Ayah 75

Olaika yujzawna alghurfata bima sabaroo wayulaqqawna feeha tahiyyatan wasalaman

Ūlā'ika Yujzawna Al-Ghurfata Bimā Şabarū Wa Yulaqqawna Fīhā Taĥīyatan Wa Salāmāan

Those shall be rewarded with sublime abodes for their patience and steadfastness, and they shall be met there with greetings and ‘Peace,’

76

Ayah 76

Khalideena feeha hasunat mustaqarran wamuqaman

Khālidīna Fīhā Ĥasunat Mustaqarrāan Wa Muqāmāan

to abide in them [forever], an excellent station and abode

77

Ayah 77

Qul ma yaAAbao bikum rabbee lawla duAAaokum faqad kaththabtum fasawfa yakoonu lizaman

Qul Mā Ya`ba'u Bikum Rabbī Lawlā Du`ā'uukum Faqad Kadhabtum Fasawfa Yakūnu Lizāmāan

Say, ‘Were it not for the sake of summoning you [to faith], what store my Lord would have set by you? But you impugned [me and my summons], so it will soon follow as a result.’
