Ţā-Sīn Tilka 'Āyātu Al-Qur'āni Wa Kitābin Mubīnin
Ta, Seen. These are the signs of the Quran and a manifest Book
Surah 27
The Ant
سُورَةُ النَّمۡلِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Ayah 1
Taseen tilka ayatu alqurani wakitabin mubeenin
Ţā-Sīn Tilka 'Āyātu Al-Qur'āni Wa Kitābin Mubīnin
Ta, Seen. These are the signs of the Quran and a manifest Book
Ayah 2
Hudan wabushra lilmumineena
Hudáan Wa Bushrá Lilmu'uminīna
a guidance and good news for the faithful
Ayah 3
Allatheena yuqeemoona alssalata wayutoona alzzakata wahum bialakhirati hum yooqinoona
Al-Ladhīna Yuqīmūna Aş-Şalāata Wa Yu'utūna Az-Zakāata Wa Hum Bil-'Ākhirati Hum Yūqinūna
—those who maintain the prayer and pay the zakat, and who are certain of the Hereafter
Ayah 4
Inna allatheena la yuminoona bialakhirati zayyanna lahum aAAmalahum fahum yaAAmahoona
Inna Al-Ladhīna Lā Yu'uminūna Bil-'Ākhirati Zayyannā Lahum 'A`mālahum Fahum Ya`mahūna
As for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made their deeds seem decorous to them, and so they are bewildered
Ayah 5
Olaika allatheena lahum sooo alAAathabi wahum fee alakhirati humu alakhsaroona
Ūlā'ika Al-Ladhīna Lahum Sū'u Al-`Adhābi Wa Hum Fī Al-'Ākhirati Humu Al-'Akhsarūna
They are the ones for whom there is a terrible punishment, and they are the ones who will be the biggest losers in the Hereafter
Ayah 6
Wainnaka latulaqqa alqurana min ladun hakeemin AAaleemin
Wa 'Innaka Latulaqqá Al-Qur'āna Min Ladun Ĥakīmin `Alīmin
Indeed you receive the Quran from One who is all-wise, all-knowing
Ayah 7
Ith qala moosa liahlihi innee anastu naran saateekum minha bikhabarin aw ateekum bishihabin qabasin laAAallakum tastaloona
Idh Qāla Mūsá Li'hlihi 'Innī 'Ānastu Nārāan Sa'ātīkum Minhā Bikhabarin 'Aw 'Ātīkum Bishihābin Qabasin La`allakum Taşţalūna
When Moses said to his family, ‘Indeed I descry a fire! I will bring you some news from it, or bring you a firebrand so that you may warm yourselves.’
Ayah 8
Falamma jaaha noodiya an boorika man fee alnnari waman hawlaha wasubhana Allahi rabbi alAAalameena
Falammā Jā'ahā Nūdiya 'An Būrika Man Fī An-Nāri Wa Man Ĥawlahā Wa Subĥāna Allāhi Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna
When he came to it, he was called: ‘Blessed is He who is in the fire and who is [as well] around it, and immaculate is Allah, the Lord of all the worlds!’
Ayah 9
Ya moosa innahu ana Allahu alAAazeezu alhakeemu
Yā Mūsá 'Innahu 'Anā Allāhu Al-`Azīzu Al-Ĥakīmu
‘O Moses! Indeed I am Allah, the All-mighty, the All-wise.’
Ayah 10
Waalqi AAasaka falamma raaha tahtazzu kaannaha jannun walla mudbiran walam yuAAaqqib ya moosa la takhaf innee la yakhafu ladayya almursaloona
Wa 'Alqi `Aşāka Falammā Ra'āhā Tahtazzu Ka'annahā Jānnun Wallá Mudbirāan Wa Lam Yu`aqqib Yā Mūsá Lā Takhaf 'Innī Lā Yakhāfu Ladayya Al-Mursalūna
‘Throw down your staff!’ When he saw it wriggling, as if it were a snake, he turned his back [to flee], without looking back. ‘O Moses! ‘Do not be afraid. Indeed the apostles are not afraid before Me
Ayah 11
Illa man thalama thumma baddala husnan baAAda sooin fainnee ghafoorun raheemun
Illā Man Žalama Thumma Baddala Ĥusnāan Ba`da Sū'in Fa'innī Ghafūrun Raĥīmun
nor those who do wrong and then make up for [their] fault with goodness, for indeed I am all-forgiving, all-merciful.’
Ayah 12
Waadkhil yadaka fee jaybika takhruj baydaa min ghayri sooin fee tisAAi ayatin ila firAAawna waqawmihi innahum kanoo qawman fasiqeena
Wa 'Adkhil Yadaka Fī Jaybika Takhruj Bayđā'a Min Ghayri Sū'in Fī Tis`i 'Āyātin 'Ilá Fir`awna Wa Qawmihi 'Innahum Kānū Qawmāan Fāsiqīna
‘Insert your hand into your shirt. It will emerge white and bright, without any fault—among nine signs meant for Pharaoh and his people. Indeed they are a transgressing lot.’
Ayah 13
Falamma jaathum ayatuna mubsiratan qaloo hatha sihrun mubeenun
Falammā Jā'at/hum 'Āyātunā Mubşiratan Qālū Hādhā Siĥrun Mubīnun
But when Our signs came to them, as eye-openers, they said, ‘This is plain magic.’
Ayah 14
Wajahadoo biha waistayqanatha anfusuhum thulman waAAuluwwan faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almufsideena
Wa Jaĥadū Bihā Wa Astayqanat/hā 'Anfusuhum Žulmāan Wa `Ulūwāan Fānžur Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Al-Mufsidīna
They impugned them, wrongfully and out of arrogance, though they were convinced in their hearts [of their veracity]. So observe how the fate of the agents of corruption was
Ayah 15
Walaqad atayna dawooda wasulaymana AAilman waqala alhamdu lillahi allathee faddalana AAala katheerin min AAibadihi almumineena
Wa Laqad 'Ātaynā Dāwūda Wa Sulaymāna `Ilmāan Wa Qālā Al-Ĥamdu Lillāhi Al-Ladhī Fađđalanā `Alá Kathīrin Min `Ibādihi Al-Mu'uminīna
Certainly, We gave knowledge to David and Solomon, and they said, ‘All praise belongs to Allah, who granted us an advantage over many of His faithful servants.’
Ayah 16
Wawaritha sulaymanu dawooda waqala ya ayyuha alnnasu AAullimna mantiqa alttayri waooteena min kulli shayin inna hatha lahuwa alfadlu almubeenu
Wa Waritha Sulaymānu Dāwūda Wa Qāla Yā 'Ayyuhā An-Nāsu `Ullimnā Manţiqa Aţ-Ţayri Wa 'Ūtīnā Min Kulli Shay'in 'Inna Hādhā Lahuwa Al-Fađlu Al-Mubīnu
Solomon inherited from David, and he said, ‘O people! We have been taught the speech of the birds, and we have been given out of everything. Indeed this is a manifest advantage.’
Ayah 17
Wahushira lisulaymana junooduhu mina aljinni waalinsi waalttayri fahum yoozaAAoona
Wa Ĥushira Lisulaymāna Junūduhu Mina Al-Jinni Wa Al-'Insi Wa Aţ-Ţayri Fahum Yūza`ūna
[Once] Solomon’s hosts were marched out for him, comprising jinn, humans and birds, and they were held in check
Ayah 18
Hatta itha ataw AAala wadi alnnamli qalat namlatun ya ayyuha alnnamlu odkhuloo masakinakum la yahtimannakum sulaymanu wajunooduhu wahum la yashAAuroona
Ĥattá 'Idhā 'Ataw `Alá Wādī An-Namli Qālat Namlatun Yā 'Ayyuhā An-Namlu Adkhulū Masākinakum Lā Yaĥţimannakum Sulaymānu Wa Junūduhu Wa Hum Lā Yash`urūna
When they came to the Valley of Ants, an ant said, ‘O ants! Enter your dwellings, lest Solomon and his hosts should trample on you while they are unaware.’
Ayah 19
Fatabassama dahikan min qawliha waqala rabbi awziAAnee an ashkura niAAmataka allatee anAAamta AAalayya waAAala walidayya waan aAAmala salihan tardahu waadkhilnee birahmatika fee AAibadika alssaliheena
Fatabassama Đāĥikāan Min Qawlihā Wa Qāla Rabbi 'Awzi`nī 'An 'Ashkura Ni`mataka Allatī 'An`amta `Alayya Wa `Alá Wa Lidayya Wa 'An 'A`mala Şāliĥāan Tarđāhu Wa 'Adkhilnī Biraĥmatika Fī `Ibādika Aş-Şāliĥīna
Whereat he smiled, amused at its words, and he said, ‘My Lord! Inspire me to give thanks for Your blessing with which You have blessed me and my parents, and that I may do righteous deeds which please You, and admit me, by Your mercy, among Your righteous servants.’
Ayah 20
Watafaqqada alttayra faqala ma liya la ara alhudhuda am kana mina alghaibeena
Wa Tafaqqada Aţ-Ţayra Faqāla Mā Lī Lā 'Ará Al-Hud/huda 'Am Kāna Mina Al-Ghā'ibīna
[One day] he reviewed the birds, and said, ‘Why do I not see the hoopoe? Or is he absent?’
Ayah 21
LaoAAaththibannahu AAathaban shadeedan aw laathbahannahu aw layatiyannee bisultanin mubeenin
La'u`adhibannahu `Adhābāan Shadīdāan 'Aw La'adhbaĥannahu 'Aw Laya'tiyanī Bisulţānin Mubīnin
‘I will punish him with a severe punishment, or I will behead him, unless he brings me a credible excuse.’
Ayah 22
Famakatha ghayra baAAeedin faqala ahattu bima lam tuhit bihi wajituka min sabain binabain yaqeenin
Famakatha Ghayra Ba`īdin Faqāla 'Aĥaţtu Bimā Lam Tuĥiţ Bihi Wa Ji'tuka Min Saba'iin Binaba'iin Yaqīnin
He did not stay for long [before he turned up] and said, ‘I have alighted on something which you have not alighted on, and I have brought you from Sheba a definite report
Ayah 23
Innee wajadtu imraatan tamlikuhum waootiyat min kulli shayin walaha AAarshun AAatheemun
Innī Wa Jadttu Amra'atan Tamlikuhum Wa 'Ūtiyat Min Kulli Shay'in Wa Lahā `Arshun `Ažīmun
I found a woman ruling over them, and she has been given everything, and she has a great throne
Ayah 24
Wajadtuha waqawmaha yasjudoona lilshshamsi min dooni Allahi wazayyana lahumu alshshaytanu aAAmalahum fasaddahum AAani alssabeeli fahum la yahtadoona
Wa Jadtuhā Wa Qawmahā Yasjudūna Lilshamsi Min Dūni Allāhi Wa Zayyana Lahumu Ash-Shayţānu 'A`mālahum Faşaddahum `Ani As-Sabīli Fahum Lā Yahtadūna
I found her and her people prostrating to the sun instead of Allah, and Satan has made their deeds seem decorous to them—thus he has barred them from the way [of Allah], so they are not guided—
Ayah 25
Alla yasjudoo lillahi allathee yukhriju alkhabaa fee alssamawati waalardi wayaAAlamu ma tukhfoona wama tuAAlinoona
Allā Yasjudū Lillāhi Al-Ladhī Yukhriju Al-Khab'a Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Ya`lamu Mā Tukhfūna Wa Mā Tu`linūna
so that they do not prostrate themselves to Allah, who brings forth the hidden in the heavens and the earth, and He knows whatever you hide and whatever you disclose
Ayah 26
Allahu la ilaha illa huwa rabbu alAAarshi alAAatheemi
Allāhu Lā 'Ilāha 'Illā Huwa Rabbu Al-`Arshi Al-`Ažīmi
Allah—there is no god except Him—is the Lord of the Great Throne.’
Ayah 27
Qala sananthuru asadaqta am kunta mina alkathibeena
Qāla Sananžuru 'Aşadaqta 'Am Kunta Mina Al-Kādhibīna
He said, ‘We shall see whether you are truthful, or if you are one of the liars
Ayah 28
Ithhab bikitabee hatha faalqih ilayhim thumma tawalla AAanhum faonthur matha yarjiAAoona
Adh/hab Bikitābī Hādhā Fa'alqih 'Ilayhim Thumma Tawalla `Anhum Fānžur Mādhā Yarji`ūna
Take this letter of mine and deliver it to them. Then draw away from them and observe what [response] they return.’
Ayah 29
Qalat ya ayyuha almalao innee olqiya ilayya kitabun kareemun
Qālat Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Mala'u 'Innī 'Ulqiya 'Ilayya Kitābun Karīmun
She said, ‘O [members of the] elite! Indeed a noble letter has been delivered to me
Ayah 30
Innahu min sulaymana wainnahu bismi Allahi alrrahmani alrraheemi
Innahu Min Sulaymāna Wa 'Innahu Bismi Allāhi Ar-Raĥmāni Ar-Raĥīmi
It is from Solomon, and it begins in the name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful
Ayah 31
Alla taAAloo AAalayya watoonee muslimeena
Allā Ta`lū `Alayya Wa 'Tūnī Muslimīna
[It states,] ‘‘Do not defy me, and come to me in submission.’’ ’
Ayah 32
Qalat ya ayyuha almalao aftoonee fee amree ma kuntu qatiAAatan amran hatta tashhadoona
Qālat Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Mala'u 'Aftūnī Fī 'Amrī Mā Kuntu Qāţi`atan 'Amrāan Ĥattá Tash/hadūni
She said, ‘O [members of the] elite! Give me your opinion concerning my matter. I do not decide any matter until you are present.’
Ayah 33
Qaloo nahnu oloo quwwatin waoloo basin shadeedin waalamru ilayki faonthuree matha tamureena
Qālū Naĥnu 'Ūlū Qūwatin Wa 'Ūlū Ba'sin Shadīdin Wa Al-'Amru 'Ilayki Fānžurī Mādhā Ta'murīna
They said, ‘We are powerful and possess a great might. But it is up to you to command. So consider what orders you will give.’
Ayah 34
Qalat inna almulooka itha dakhaloo qaryatan afsadooha wajaAAaloo aAAizzata ahliha athillatan wakathalika yafAAaloona
Qālat 'Inna Al-Mulūka 'Idhā Dakhalū Qaryatan 'Afsadūhā Wa Ja`alū 'A`izzata 'Ahlihā 'Adhillatan Wa Kadhalika Yaf`alūna
She said, ‘Indeed when kings enter a town, they devastate it, and make the mightiest of its people the weakest. That is how they act
Ayah 35
Wainnee mursilatun ilayhim bihadiyyatin fanathiratun bima yarjiAAu almursaloona
Wa 'Innī Mursilatun 'Ilayhim Bihadīyatin Fanāžiratun Bima Yarji`u Al-Mursalūna
I will send them a gift, and see what the envoys bring back.’
Ayah 36
Falamma jaa sulaymana qala atumiddoonani bimalin fama ataniya Allahu khayrun mimma atakum bal antum bihadiyyatikum tafrahoona
Falammā Jā'a Sulaymāna Qāla 'Atumiddūnani Bimālin Famā 'Ātāniya Allāhu Khayrun Mimmā 'Ātākum Bal 'Antum Bihadīyatikum Tafraĥūna
So when he came to Solomon, he said, ‘Are you aiding me with wealth? What Allah has given me is better than what He has given you. Indeed, you are proud of your gift
Ayah 37
IrjiAA ilayhim falanatiyannahum bijunoodin la qibala lahum biha walanukhrijannahum minha athillatan wahum saghiroona
Arji` 'Ilayhim Falana'tiyannahum Bijunūdin Lā Qibala Lahum Bihā Wa Lanukhrijannahum Minhā 'Adhillatan Wa Hum Şāghirūna
Go back to them, for we will come at them with hosts which they cannot face, and we will expel them from it, abased and degraded.’
Ayah 38
Qala ya ayyuha almalao ayyukum yateenee biAAarshiha qabla an yatoonee muslimeena
Qāla Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Mala'u 'Ayyukum Ya'tīnī Bi`arshihā Qabla 'An Ya'tūnī Muslimīna
He said, ‘O [members of the] elite! Which of you will bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?’
Ayah 39
Qala AAifreetun mina aljinni ana ateeka bihi qabla an taqooma min maqamika wainne AAalayhi laqawiyyun ameenun
Qāla `Ifrytun Mina Al-Jinni 'Anā 'Ātīka Bihi Qabla 'An Taqūma Min Maqāmika Wa 'Innī `Alayhi Laqawīyun 'Amīnun
An afreet from among the jinn said, ‘I will bring it to you before you rise from your place. I have the power to do it and am trustworthy.’
Ayah 40
Qala allathee AAindahu AAilmun mina alkitabi ana ateeka bihi qabla an yartadda ilayka tarfuka falamma raahu mustaqirran AAindahu qala hatha min fadli rabbee liyabluwanee aashkuru am akfuru waman shakara fainnama yashkuru linafsihi waman kafara fainna rabbee ghaniyyun kareemun
Qāla Al-Ladhī `Indahu `Ilmun Mina Al-Kitābi 'Anā 'Ātīka Bihi Qabla 'An Yartadda 'Ilayka Ţarfuka Falammā Ra'āhu Mustaqirrāan `Indahu Qāla Hādhā Min Fađli Rabbī Liyabluwanī 'A'ashkuru 'Am 'Akfuru Wa Man Shakara Fa'innamā Yashkuru Linafsihi Wa Man Kafara Fa'inna Rabbī Ghanīyun Karīmun
The one who had knowledge of the Book said, ‘I will bring it to you in the twinkling of an eye.’ So when he saw it set near him, he said, ‘This is by the grace of my Lord, to test me if I will give thanks or be ungrateful. Whoever gives thanks, gives thanks only for his own sake. And whoever is ungrateful [should know that] my Lord is indeed all-sufficient, all-generous.’
Ayah 41
Qala nakkiroo laha AAarshaha nanthur atahtadee am takoonu mina allatheena la yahtadoona
Qāla Nakkirū Lahā `Arshahā Nanžur 'Atahtadī 'Am Takūnu Mina Al-Ladhīna Lā Yahtadūna
He said, ‘Disguise her throne for her, so that we may see whether she is discerning or if she is one of the undiscerning ones.’
Ayah 42
Falamma jaat qeela ahakatha AAarshuki qalat kaannahu huwa waooteena alAAilma min qabliha wakunna muslimeena
Falammā Jā'at Qīla 'Ahakadhā `Arshuki Qālat Ka'annahu Huwa Wa 'Ūtīnā Al-`Ilma Min Qablihā Wa Kunnā Muslimīna
So when she came, it was said [to her], ‘Is your throne like this one?’ She said, ‘It seems to be the same, and we were informed before it, and we had submitted.’
Ayah 43
Wasaddaha ma kanat taAAbudu min dooni Allahi innaha kanat min qawmin kafireena
Wa Şaddahā Mā Kānat Ta`budu Min Dūni Allāhi 'Innahā Kānat Min Qawmin Kāfirīna
She had been barred [from the way of Allah] by what she used to worship besides Allah, for she belonged to a faithless people
Ayah 44
Qeela laha odkhulee alssarha falamma raathu hasibathu lujjatan wakashafat AAan saqayha qala innahu sarhun mumarradun min qawareera qalat rabbi innee thalamtu nafsee waaslamtu maAAa sulaymana lillahi rabbi alAAalameena
Qīla Lahā Adkhulī Aş-Şarĥa Falammā Ra'at/hu Ĥasibat/hu Lujjatan Wa Kashafat `An Sāqayhā Qāla 'Innahu Şarĥun Mumarradun Min Qawārīra Qālat Rabbi 'Innī Žalamtu Nafsī Wa 'Aslamtu Ma`a Sulaymāna Lillāhi Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna
It was said to her, ‘Enter the palace.’ So when she saw it, she supposed it to be a pool of water, and she bared her shanks. He said, ‘It is a palace paved with crystal.’ She said, ‘My Lord! Indeed I have wronged myself, and I submit with Solomon to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds.’
Ayah 45
Walaqad arsalna ila thamooda akhahum salihan ani oAAbudoo Allaha faitha hum fareeqani yakhtasimoona
Wa Laqad 'Arsalnā 'Ilá Thamūda 'Akhāhum Şāliĥāan 'Ani A`budū Allāha Fa'idhā Hum Farīqāni Yakhtaşimūna
Certainly We sent to Thamud Salih, their brother, [with the summons:] ‘Worship Allah!’ But thereat they became two groups contending with each other
Ayah 46
Qala ya qawmi lima tastaAAjiloona bialssayyiati qabla alhasanati lawla tastaghfiroona Allaha laAAallakum turhamoona
Qāla Yā Qawmi Lima Tasta`jilūna Bis-Sayyi'ati Qabla Al-Ĥasanati Lawlā Tastaghfirūna Allāha La`allakum Turĥamūna
He said, ‘O My people! Why do you press for evil sooner than for good? Why do you not plead to Allah for forgiveness so that you may receive His mercy?’
Ayah 47
Qaloo ittayyarna bika wabiman maAAaka qala tairukum AAinda Allahi bal antum qawmun tuftanoona
Qālū Aţţayyarnā Bika Wa Biman Ma`aka Qāla Ţā'irukum `Inda Allāhi Bal 'Antum Qawmun Tuftanūna
They said, ‘We take you and those who are with you for a bad omen.’ He said, ‘Your bad omens are from Allah. Indeed, you are a people being tested.’
Ayah 48
Wakana fee almadeenati tisAAatu rahtin yufsidoona fee alardi wala yuslihoona
Wa Kāna Fī Al-Madīnati Tis`atu Rahţin Yufsidūna Fī Al-'Arđi Wa Lā Yuşliĥūna
There were nine persons in the city who caused corruption in the land and did not set things right
Ayah 49
Qaloo taqasamoo biAllahi lanubayyitannahu waahlahu thumma lanaqoolanna liwaliyyihi ma shahidna mahlika ahlihi wainna lasadiqoona
Qālū Taqāsamū Billāhi Lanubayyitannahu Wa 'Ahlahu Thumma Lanaqūlanna Liwalīyihi Mā Shahidnā Mahlika 'Ahlihi Wa 'Innā Laşādiqūna
They said, ‘Swear by Allah that we will attack him and his family by night. Then we will tell his heir that we were not present at the murder of his family and that we speak the truth.’
Ayah 50
Wamakaroo makran wamakarna makran wahum la yashAAuroona
Wa Makarū Makrāan Wa Makarnā Makrāan Wa Hum Lā Yash`urūna
They devised a plot, and We [too] devised a plan, but they were not aware
Ayah 51
Faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu makrihim anna dammarnahum waqawmahum ajmaAAeena
Fānžur Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Makrihim 'Annā Dammarnāhum Wa Qawmahum 'Ajma`īna
So observe how was the outcome of their plotting, as We destroyed them and all their people
Ayah 52
Fatilka buyootuhum khawiyatan bima thalamoo inna fee thalika laayatan liqawmin yaAAlamoona
Fatilka Buyūtuhum Khāwiyatan Bimā Žalamū 'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyatan Liqawmin Ya`lamūna
So there lay their houses, fallen in ruin because of their wrongdoing. There is indeed a sign in that for a people who have knowledge
Ayah 53
Waanjayna allatheena amanoo wakanoo yattaqoona
Wa 'Anjaynā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa Kānū Yattaqūna
And We delivered those who had faith and were Godwary
Ayah 54
Walootan ith qala liqawmihi atatoona alfahishata waantum tubsiroona
Wa Lūţāan 'Idh Qāla Liqawmihi 'Ata'tūna Al-Fāĥishata Wa 'Antum Tubşirūna
[We also sent] Lot, when he said to his people, ‘What! Do you commit this indecency while you look on
Ayah 55
Ainnakum latatoona alrrijala shahwatan min dooni alnnisai bal antum qawmun tajhaloona
A'innakum Lata'tūna Ar-Rijāla Shahwatan Min Dūni An-Nisā' Bal 'Antum Qawmun Tajhalūna
Do you approach men with [sexual] desire instead of women?! Indeed, you are a senseless lot!’
Ayah 56
Fama kana jawaba qawmihi illa an qaloo akhrijoo ala lootin min qaryatikum innahum onasun yatatahharoona
Famā Kāna Jawāba Qawmihi 'Illā 'An Qālū 'Akhrijū 'Āla Lūţin Min Qaryatikum 'Innahum 'Unāsun Yataţahharūna
But the only answer of his people was that they said, ‘Expel Lot’s family from your town! They are indeed a puritanical lot.’
Ayah 57
Faanjaynahu waahlahu illa imraatahu qaddarnaha mina alghabireena
Fa'anjaynāhu Wa 'Ahlahu 'Illā Amra'atahu Qaddarnāhā Mina Al-Ghābirīna
So We delivered him and his family, except his wife. We ordained her to be among those who remained behind
Ayah 58
Waamtarna AAalayhim mataran fasaa mataru almunthareena
Wa 'Amţarnā `Alayhim Maţarāan Fasā'a Maţaru Al-Mundharīna
Then We poured down upon them a rain [of stones]. Evil was that rain for those who had been warned
Ayah 59
Quli alhamdu lillahi wasalamun AAala AAibadihi allatheena istafa allahu khayrun amma yushrikoona
Quli Al-Ĥamdu Lillāhi Wa Salāmun `Alá `Ibādihi Al-Ladhīna Aşţafá 'Āālllahu Khayrun 'Ammā Yushrikūna
Say, ‘All praise belongs to Allah, and Peace be to the servants whom He has chosen.’ Is Allah better, or the partners they ascribe [to Him]
Ayah 60
Amman khalaqa alssamawati waalarda waanzala lakum mina alssamai maan faanbatna bihi hadaiqa thata bahjatin ma kana lakum an tunbitoo shajaraha ailahun maAAa Allahi bal hum qawmun yaAAdiloona
Amman Khalaqa As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa Wa 'Anzala Lakum Mina As-Samā'i Mā'an Fa'anbatnā Bihi Ĥadā'iqa Dhāta Bahjatin Mā Kāna Lakum 'An Tunbitū Shajarahā 'A'ilahun Ma`a Allāhi Bal Hum Qawmun Ya`dilūna
Is He who created the heavens and the earth, and sends down for you water from the sky, whereby We grow delightful gardens, whose trees you could never cause to grow...? What! Is there a god besides Allah? Indeed, they are a lot who equate [others with Allah]
Ayah 61
Amman jaAAala alarda qararan wajaAAala khilalaha anharan wajaAAala laha rawasiya wajaAAala bayna albahrayni hajizan ailahun maAAa Allahi bal aktharuhum la yaAAlamoona
Amman Ja`ala Al-'Arđa Qarārāan Wa Ja`ala Khilālahā 'Anhārāan Wa Ja`ala Lahā Rawāsiya Wa Ja`ala Bayna Al-Baĥrayni Ĥājizāan 'A'ilahun Ma`a Allāhi Bal 'Aktharuhum Lā Ya`lamūna
Is He who made the earth an abode [for you], and made rivers [flowing] through it, and set firm mountains for it [’s stability], and set a barrier between the two seas...? What! Is there a god besides Allah? Indeed, most of them do not know
Ayah 62
Amman yujeebu almudtarra itha daAAahu wayakshifu alssooa wayajAAalukum khulafaa alardi ailahun maAAa Allahi qaleelan ma tathakkaroona
Amman Yujību Al-Muđţarra 'Idhā Da`āhu Wa Yakshifu As-Sū'a Wa Yaj`alukum Khulafā'a Al-'Arđi 'A'ilahun Ma`a Allāhi Qalīlāan Mā Tadhakkarūna
Is He who answers the call of the distressed [person] when he invokes Him and removes his distress, and makes you successors on the earth...? What! Is there a god besides Allah? Little is the admonition that you take
Ayah 63
Amman yahdeekum fee thulumati albarri waalbahri waman yursilu alrriyaha bushran bayna yaday rahmatihi ailahun maAAa Allahi taAAala Allahu AAamma yushrikoona
Amman Yahdīkum Fī Žulumāti Al-Barri Wa Al-Baĥri Wa Man Yursilu Ar-Riyāĥa Bushrāan Bayna Yaday Raĥmatihi 'A'ilahun Ma`a Allāhi Ta`ālá Allāhu `Ammā Yushrikūna
Is He who guides you in the darkness of land and sea and who sends the winds as harbingers of His mercy...? What! Is there a god besides Allah? Exalted is Allah above [having] any partners that they ascribe [to Him]
Ayah 64
Amman yabdao alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu waman yarzuqukum mina alssamai waalardi ailahun maAAa Allahi qul hatoo burhanakum in kuntum sadiqeena
Amman Yabda'u Al-Khalqa Thumma Yu`īduhu Wa Man Yarzuqukum Mina As-Samā'i Wa Al-'Arđi 'A'ilahun Ma`a Allāhi Qul Hātū Burhānakum 'In Kuntum Şādiqīna
Is He who originates the creation, then He will bring it back, and who provides for you from the sky and the earth...? What! Is there a god besides Allah? Say, ‘Produce your evidence, if you are truthful.’
Ayah 65
Qul la yaAAlamu man fee alssamawati waalardi alghayba illa Allahu wama yashAAuroona ayyana yubAAathoona
Qul Lā Ya`lamu Man Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Al-Ghayba 'Illā Allāhu Wa Mā Yash`urūna 'Ayyāna Yub`athūna
Say, ‘No one in the heavens or the earth knows the Unseen except Allah, and they are not aware when they will be resurrected.’
Ayah 66
Bali iddaraka AAilmuhum fee alakhirati bal hum fee shakkin minha bal hum minha AAamoona
Bal Addāraka `Ilmuhum Fī Al-'Ākhirati Bal Hum Fī Shakkin Minhā Bal Hum Minhā `Amūna
Do they comprehend the knowledge of the Hereafter? No, they are in doubt about it. Indeed, they are blind to it
Ayah 67
Waqala allatheena kafaroo aitha kunna turaban waabaona ainna lamukhrajoona
Wa Qāla Al-Ladhīna Kafarū 'A'idhā Kunnā Turābāan Wa 'Ābā'uunā 'A'innā Lamukhrajūna
The faithless say, ‘What! When we and our fathers have become dust shall we be raised [from the dead]
Ayah 68
Laqad wuAAidna hatha nahnu waabaona min qablu in hatha illa asateeru alawwaleena
Laqad Wu`idnā Hādhā Naĥnu Wa 'Ābā'uunā Min Qablu 'In Hādhā 'Illā 'Asāţīru Al-'Awwalīna
We and our fathers were promised this before. [But] these are just myths of the ancients.’
Ayah 69
Qul seeroo fee alardi faonthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu almujrimeena
Qul Sīrū Fī Al-'Arđi Fānžurū Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Al-Mujrimīna
Say, ‘Travel over the land and observe how was the fate of the guilty.’
Ayah 70
Wala tahzan AAalayhim wala takun fee dayqin mimma yamkuroona
Wa Lā Taĥzan `Alayhim Wa Lā Takun Fī Đayqin Mimmā Yamkurūna
Do not grieve for them, and do not be upset by their guile
Ayah 71
Wayaqooloona mata hatha alwaAAdu in kuntum sadiqeena
Wa Yaqūlūna Matá Hādhā Al-Wa`du 'In Kuntum Şādiqīna
They say, ‘When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?’
Ayah 72
Qul AAasa an yakoona radifa lakum baAAdu allathee tastaAAjiloona
Qul `Asá 'An Yakūna Radifa Lakum Ba`đu Al-Ladhī Tasta`jilūna
Say, ‘Perhaps there is right behind you some of what you seek to hasten.’
Ayah 73
Wainna rabbaka lathoo fadlin AAala alnnasi walakinna aktharahum la yashkuroona
Wa 'Inna Rabbaka Ladhū Fađlin `Alá An-Nāsi Wa Lakinna 'Aktharahum Lā Yashkurūna
Indeed your Lord is gracious to mankind, but most of them do not give thanks
Ayah 74
Wainna rabbaka layaAAlamu ma tukinnu sudooruhum wama yuAAlinoona
Wa 'Inna Rabbaka Laya`lamu Mā Tukinnu Şudūruhum Wa Mā Yu`linūna
Your Lord knows whatever their breasts conceal, and whatever they disclose
Ayah 75
Wama min ghaibatin fee alssamai waalardi illa fee kitabin mubeenin
Wa Mā Min Ghā'ibatin Fī As-Samā'i Wa Al-'Arđi 'Illā Fī Kitābin Mubīnin
There is no invisible thing in the heaven and the earth but it is in a manifest Book
Ayah 76
Inna hatha alqurana yaqussu AAala banee israeela akthara allathee hum feehi yakhtalifoona
Inna Hādhā Al-Qur'āna Yaquşşu `Alá Banī 'Isrā'īla 'Akthara Al-Ladhī Hum Fīhi Yakhtalifūna
This Quran recounts for the Children of Israel most of what they differ about
Ayah 77
Wainnahu lahudan warahmatun lilmumineena
Wa 'Innahu Lahudáan Wa Raĥmatun Lilmu'uminīna
and it is indeed a guidance and mercy for the faithful
Ayah 78
Inna rabbaka yaqdee baynahum bihukmihi wahuwa alAAazeezu alAAaleemu
Inna Rabbaka Yaqđī Baynahum Biĥukmihi Wa Huwa Al-`Azīzu Al-`Alīmu
Your Lord will decide between them by His judgement, and He is the All-mighty, the All-knowing
Ayah 79
Fatawakkal AAala Allahi innaka AAala alhaqqi almubeeni
Fatawakkal `Alá Allāhi 'Innaka `Alá Al-Ĥaqqi Al-Mubīni
So put your trust in Allah, for you indeed stand on the manifest truth
Ayah 80
Innaka la tusmiAAu almawta wala tusmiAAu alssumma aldduAAaa itha wallaw mudbireena
Innaka Lā Tusmi`u Al-Mawtá Wa Lā Tusmi`u Aş-Şumma Ad-Du`ā'a 'Idhā Wa Llaw Mudbirīna
You cannot make the dead hear, nor can you make the deaf listen to your call when they turn their backs
Ayah 81
Wama anta bihadee alAAumyi AAan dalalatihim in tusmiAAu illa man yuminu biayatina fahum muslimoona
Wa Mā 'Anta Bihādī Al-`Umyi `An Đalālatihim 'In Tusmi`u 'Illā Man Yu'uminu Bi'āyātinā Fahum Muslimūna
nor can you lead the blind out of their error. You can make only those hear you who believe in Our signs and have submitted
Ayah 82
Waitha waqaAAa alqawlu AAalayhim akhrajna lahum dabbatan mina alardi tukallimuhum anna alnnasa kanoo biayatina la yooqinoona
Wa 'Idhā Waqa`a Al-Qawlu `Alayhim 'Akhrajnā Lahum Dābbatan Mina Al-'Arđi Tukallimuhum 'Anna An-Nāsa Kānū Bi'āyātinā Lā Yūqinūna
When the word [of judgement] falls upon them, We shall bring out for them an Animal from the earth who shall tell them that the people had no faith in Our signs
Ayah 83
Wayawma nahshuru min kulli ommatin fawjan mimman yukaththibu biayatina fahum yoozaAAoona
Wa Yawma Naĥshuru Min Kulli 'Ummatin Fawjāan Mimman Yukadhibu Bi'āyātinā Fahum Yūza`ūna
On that day We shall resurrect from every nation a group of those who denied Our signs, and they will be held in check
Ayah 84
Hatta itha jaoo qala akaththabtum biayatee walam tuheetoo biha AAilman ammatha kuntum taAAmaloona
Ĥattá 'Idhā Jā'ū Qāla 'Akadhabtum Bi'āyātī Wa Lam Tuĥīţū Bihā `Ilmāan 'Ammādhā Kuntum Ta`malūna
When they come, He will say, ‘Did you deny My signs without comprehending them in knowledge? What was it that you used to do?’
Ayah 85
WawaqaAAa alqawlu AAalayhim bima thalamoo fahum la yantiqoona
Wa Waqa`a Al-Qawlu `Alayhim Bimā Žalamū Fahum Lā Yanţiqūna
And the word [of judgement] shall fall upon them for their wrongdoing, and they will not speak
Ayah 86
Alam yaraw anna jaAAalna allayla liyaskunoo feehi waalnnahara mubsiran inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yuminoona
Alam Yaraw 'Annā Ja`alnā Al-Layla Liyaskunū Fīhi Wa An-Nahāra Mubşirāan 'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyātin Liqawmin Yu'uminūna
Do they not see that We made the night that they may rest in it, and the day to provide visibility. There are indeed signs in that for a people who have faith
Ayah 87
Wayawma yunfakhu fee alssoori fafaziAAa man fee alssamawati waman fee alardi illa man shaa Allahu wakullun atawhu dakhireena
Wa Yawma Yunfakhu Fī Aş-Şūri Fafazi`a Man Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Man Fī Al-'Arđi 'Illā Man Shā'a Allāhu Wa Kullun 'Atawhu Dākhirīna
The day when the trumpet is blown, whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth will be terrified, except such as Allah wishes, and all will come to Him in utter humility
Ayah 88
Watara aljibala tahsabuha jamidatan wahiya tamurru marra alssahabi sunAAa Allahi allathee atqana kulla shayin innahu khabeerun bima tafAAaloona
Wa Tará Al-Jibāla Taĥsabuhā Jāmidatan Wa Hiya Tamurru Marra As-Saĥābi Şun`a Allāhi Al-Ladhī 'Atqana Kulla Shay'in 'Innahu Khabīrun Bimā Taf`alūna
You see the mountains, which you suppose, to be stationary, while they drift like passing clouds—the handiwork of Allah who has made everything faultless. He is indeed well aware of what you do
Ayah 89
Man jaa bialhasanati falahu khayrun minha wahum min fazaAAin yawmaithin aminoona
Man Jā'a Bil-Ĥasanati Falahu Khayrun Minhā Wa Hum Min Faza`in Yawma'idhin 'Āminūna
Whoever brings virtue shall receive [a reward] better than it; and on that day they will be secure from terror
Ayah 90
Waman jaa bialssayyiati fakubbat wujoohuhum fee alnnari hal tujzawna illa ma kuntum taAAmaloona
Wa Man Jā'a Bis-Sayyi'ati Fakubbat Wujūhuhum Fī An-Nāri Hal Tujzawna 'Illā Mā Kuntum Ta`malūna
But whoever brings vice—they shall be cast on their faces into the Fire [and told:] ‘Shall you not be requited for what you used to do?’
Ayah 91
Innama omirtu an aAAbuda rabba hathihi albaldati allathee harramaha walahu kullu shayin waomirtu an akoona mina almuslimeena
Innamā 'Umirtu 'An 'A`buda Rabba Hadhihi Al-Baldati Al-Ladhī Ĥarramahā Wa Lahu Kullu Shay'in Wa 'Umirtu 'An 'Akūna Mina Al-Muslimīna
[Say], ‘I have been commanded to worship the Lord of this city who has made it inviolable and to whom all things belong, and I have been commanded to be among those who submit [to Allah]
Ayah 92
Waan atluwa alqurana famani ihtada fainnama yahtadee linafsihi waman dalla faqul innama ana mina almunthireena
Wa 'An 'Atluwa Al-Qur'āna Famani Ahtadá Fa'innamā Yahtadī Linafsihi Wa Man Đalla Faqul 'Innamā 'Anā Mina Al-Mundhirīna
and to recite the Quran.’ Whoever is guided is guided only for his own good, and as for him who goes astray, say, ‘I am just one of the warners.’
Ayah 93
Waquli alhamdu lillahi sayureekum ayatihi fataAArifoonaha wama rabbuka bighafilin AAamma taAAmaloona
Wa Quli Al-Ĥamdu Lillāhi Sayurīkum 'Āyātihi Fata`rifūnahā Wa Mā Rabbuka Bighāfilin `Ammā Ta`malūna
And say, ‘All praise belongs to Allah. Soon He will show you His signs, and you will recognize them.’ Your Lord is not oblivious of what you do
