سُورَةُ الرُّومِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Ayah 1

Ayah 2
Ghulibati alrroomu
Ghulibati Ar-Rūmu
The Byzantines has been vanquished
Ayah 3
Fee adna alardi wahum min baAAdi ghalabihim sayaghliboona
Fī 'Adná Al-'Arđi Wa Hum Min Ba`di Ghalabihim Sayaghlibūna
in a nearby land, but they, after their defeat, will be victorious
Ayah 4
Fee bidAAi sineena lillahi alamru min qablu wamin baAAdu wayawmaithin yafrahu almuminoona
Fī Biđ`i Sinīna Lillāhi Al-'Amru Min Qablu Wa Min Ba`du Wa Yawma'idhin Yafraĥu Al-Mu'uminūna
in a few years. All command belongs to Allah, before this and hereafter, and on that day the faithful will rejoice
Ayah 5
Binasri Allahi yansuru man yashao wahuwa alAAazeezu alrraheemu
Binaşri Allāhi Yanşuru Man Yashā'u Wa Huwa Al-`Azīzu Ar-Raĥīmu
at Allah’s help. He helps whomever He wishes, and He is the All-mighty, the All-merciful
Ayah 6
WaAAda Allahi la yukhlifu Allahu waAAdahu walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona
Wa`da Allāhi Lā Yukhlifu Allāhu Wa`dahu Wa Lakinna 'Akthara An-Nāsi Lā Ya`lamūna
[This is] a promise of Allah: Allah does not break His promise, but most people do not know
Ayah 7
YaAAlamoona thahiran mina alhayati alddunya wahum AAani alakhirati hum ghafiloona
Ya`lamūna Žāhirāan Mina Al-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Wa Hum `Ani Al-'Ākhirati Hum Ghāfilūna
They know just an outward aspect of the life of the world, but they are oblivious of the Hereafter
Ayah 8
Awalam yatafakkaroo fee anfusihim ma khalaqa Allahu alssamawati waalarda wama baynahuma illa bialhaqqi waajalin musamman wainna katheeran mina alnnasi biliqai rabbihim lakafiroona
Awalam Yatafakkarū Fī 'Anfusihim Mā Khalaqa Allāhu As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa Wa Mā Baynahumā 'Illā Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa 'Ajalin Musammáan Wa 'Inna Kathīrāan Mina An-Nāsi Biliqā'i Rabbihim Lakāfirūna
Have they not reflected in their own souls? Allah did not create the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them except with consummate wisdom and for a specified term. Indeed many people disbelieve in the encounter with their Lord
Ayah 9
Awalam yaseeroo fee alardi fayanthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena min qablihim kanoo ashadda minhum quwwatan waatharoo alarda waAAamarooha akthara mimma AAamarooha wajaathum rusuluhum bialbayyinati fama kana Allahu liyathlimahum walakin kanoo anfusahum yathlimoona
Awalam Yasīrū Fī Al-'Arđi Fayanžurū Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Al-Ladhīna Min Qablihim Kānū 'Ashadda Minhum Qūwatan Wa 'Athārū Al-'Arđa Wa `Amarūhā 'Akthara Mimmā `Amarūhā Wa Jā'at/hum Rusuluhum Bil-Bayyināti Famā Kāna Allāhu Liyažlimahum Wa Lakin Kānū 'Anfusahum Yažlimūna
Have they not travelled in the land and seen how was the fate of those who were before them? They were more powerful than them, and they plowed the earth and developed it more than they have developed it. Their apostles brought them manifest proofs. So it was not Allah who wronged them, but it was they who used to wrong themselves
Ayah 10
Thumma kana AAaqibata allatheena asaoo alssooa an kaththaboo biayati Allahi wakanoo biha yastahzioona
Thumma Kāna `Āqibata Al-Ladhīna 'Asā'ū As-Sū'á 'An Kadhabū Bi'āyāti Allāhi Wa Kānū Bihā Yastahzi'ūn
Then the fate of those who committed misdeeds was that they denied the signs of Allah and they used to deride them
Ayah 11
Allahu yabdao alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu thumma ilayhi turjaAAoona
Allāhu Yabda'u Al-Khalqa Thumma Yu`īduhu Thumma 'Ilayhi Turja`ūna
Allah originates the creation, then He will bring it back, then you will be brought back to Him
Ayah 12
Wayawma taqoomu alssaAAatu yublisu almujrimoona
Wa Yawma Taqūmu As-Sā`atu Yublisu Al-Mujrimūna
And when the Hour sets in, the guilty will despair
Ayah 13
Walam yakun lahum min shurakaihim shufaAAao wakanoo bishurakaihim kafireena
Wa Lam Yakun Lahum Min Shurakā'ihim Shufa`ā'u Wa Kānū Bishurakā'ihim Kāfirīna
None of those whom they ascribed as partners [to Allah] will intercede for them, and they will disavow their partners
Ayah 14
Wayawma taqoomu alssaAAatu yawmaithin yatafarraqoona
Wa Yawma Taqūmu As-Sā`atu Yawma'idhin Yatafarraqūna
The day the Hour sets in, they will be divided on that day [in separate groups]
Ayah 15
Faamma allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati fahum fee rawdatin yuhbaroona
Fa'ammā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Fahum Fī Rawđatin Yuĥbarūna
As for those who have faith and do righteous deeds, they shall be in a garden, rejoicing
Ayah 16
Waamma allatheena kafaroo wakaththaboo biayatina waliqai alakhirati faolaika fee alAAathabi muhdaroona
Wa 'Ammā Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Wa Kadhabū Bi'āyātinā Wa Liqā'i Al-'Ākhirati Fa'ūlā'ika Fī Al-`Adhābi Muĥđarūna
But as for those who were faithless and denied Our signs and the encounter of the Hereafter, they will be brought to the punishment
Ayah 17
Fasubhana Allahi heena tumsoona waheena tusbihoona
Fasubĥāna Allāhi Ĥīna Tumsūna Wa Ĥīna Tuşbiĥūna
So glorify Allah when you enter evening and when you rise at dawn
Ayah 18
Walahu alhamdu fee alssamawati waalardi waAAashiyyan waheena tuthhiroona
Wa Lahu Al-Ĥamdu Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa `Ashīyāan Wa Ĥīna Tužhirūna
To Him belongs all praise in the heavens and the earth, at nightfall and when you enter noontime
Ayah 19
Yukhriju alhayya mina almayyiti wayukhriju almayyita mina alhayyi wayuhyee alarda baAAda mawtiha wakathalika tukhrajoona
Yukhriju Al-Ĥayya Mina Al-Mayyiti Wa Yukhriju Al-Mayyita Mina Al-Ĥayyi Wa Yuĥyī Al-'Arđa Ba`da Mawtihā Wa Kadhalika Tukhrajūna
He brings forth the living from the dead, and brings forth the dead from the living, and revives the earth after its death. Likewise, you [too] shall be raised [from the dead]
Ayah 20
Wamin ayatihi an khalaqakum min turabin thumma itha antum basharun tantashiroona
Wa Min 'Āyātihi 'An Khalaqakum Min Turābin Thumma 'Idhā 'Antum Basharun Tantashirūna
Of His signs is that He created you from dust, then, behold, you are humans scattering [all over]
Ayah 21
Wamin ayatihi an khalaqa lakum min anfusikum azwajan litaskunoo ilayha wajaAAala baynakum mawaddatan warahmatan inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yatafakkaroona
Wa Min 'Āyātihi 'An Khalaqa Lakum Min 'Anfusikum 'Azwājāan Litaskunū 'Ilayhā Wa Ja`ala Baynakum Mawaddatan Wa Raĥmatan 'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyātin Liqawmin Yatafakkarūna
And of His signs is that He created for you mates from your own selves that you may take comfort in them, and He ordained affection and mercy between you. There are indeed signs in that for a people who reflect
Ayah 22
Wamin ayatihi khalqu alssamawati waalardi waikhtilafu alsinatikum waalwanikum inna fee thalika laayatin lilAAalimeena
Wa Min 'Āyātihi Khalqu As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Akhtilāfu 'Alsinatikum Wa 'Alwānikum 'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyātin Lil`ālimīna
Among His signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the difference of your languages and colours. There are indeed signs in that for those who know
Ayah 23
Wamin ayatihi manamukum biallayli waalnnahari waibtighaokum min fadlihi inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yasmaAAoona
Wa Min 'Āyātihi Manāmukum Bil-Layli Wa An-Nahāri Wa Abtighā'uukum Min Fađlihi 'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyātin Liqawmin Yasma`ūna
And of His signs is your sleep by night and day, and your pursuit of His bounty. There are indeed signs in that for a people who listen
Ayah 24
Wamin ayatihi yureekumu albarqa khawfan watamaAAan wayunazzilu mina alssamai maan fayuhyee bihi alarda baAAda mawtiha inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yaAAqiloona
Wa Min 'Āyātihi Yurīkumu Al-Barqa Khawfāan Wa Ţama`āan Wa Yunazzilu Mina As-Samā'i Mā'an Fayuĥyī Bihi Al-'Arđa Ba`da Mawtihā 'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyātin Liqawmin Ya`qilūna
And of His signs is that He shows you the lightning, arousing fear and hope, and He sends down water from the sky, and with it revives the earth after its death. There are indeed signs in that for people who exercise their reason
Ayah 25
Wamin ayatihi an taqooma alssamao waalardu biamrihi thumma itha daAAakum daAAwatan mina alardi itha antum takhrujoona
Wa Min 'Āyātihi 'An Taqūma As-Samā'u Wa Al-'Arđu Bi'amrihi Thumma 'Idhā Da`ākum Da`watan Mina Al-'Arđi 'Idhā 'Antum Takhrujūna
And of His signs is that the sky and the earth stand by His command, and then, when He calls you forth from the earth, behold, you will come forth
Ayah 26
Walahu man fee alssamawati waalardi kullun lahu qanitoona
Wa Lahu Man Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Kullun Lahu Qānitūna
To Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and the earth. All are obedient to Him
Ayah 27
Wahuwa allathee yabdao alkhalqa thumma yuAAeeduhu wahuwa ahwanu AAalayhi walahu almathalu alaAAla fee alssamawati waalardi wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu
Wa Huwa Al-Ladhī Yabda'u Al-Khalqa Thumma Yu`īduhu Wa Huwa 'Ahwanu `Alayhi Wa Lahu Al-Mathalu Al-'A`lá Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Huwa Al-`Azīzu Al-Ĥakīmu
It is He who originates the creation, and then He will bring it back—and that is more simple for Him. His is the loftiest description in the heavens and the earth, and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise
Ayah 28
Daraba lakum mathalan min anfusikum hal lakum mi mma malakat aymanukum min shurakaa fee ma razaqnakum faantum feehi sawaon takhafoonahum kakheefatikum anfusakum kathalika nufassilu alayati liqawmin yaAAqiloona
Đaraba Lakum Mathalāan Min 'Anfusikum Hal Lakum Min Mā Malakat 'Aymānukum Min Shurakā'a Fī Mā Razaqnākum Fa'antum Fīhi Sawā'un Takhāfūnahum Kakhīfatikum 'Anfusakum Kadhālika Nufaşşilu Al-'Āyāti Liqawmin Ya`qilūna
He draws for you an example from yourselves: Do you have among your slaves any partners [who may share] in what We have provided you, so that you are equal in its respect, and you revere them as you revere one another? Thus do We elaborate the signs for people who exercise their reason
Ayah 29
Bali ittabaAAa allatheena thalamoo ahwaahum bighayri AAilmin faman yahdee man adalla Allahu wama lahum min nasireena
Bal Attaba`a Al-Ladhīna Žalamū 'Ahwā'ahum Bighayri `Ilmin Faman Yahdī Man 'Ađalla Allāhu Wa Mā Lahum Min Nāşirīna
Indeed, the wrongdoers follow their own desires without any knowledge. So who will guide those whom Allah has led astray? They will have no helpers
Ayah 30
Faaqim wajhaka lilddeeni haneefan fitrata Allahi allatee fatara alnnasa AAalayha la tabdeela likhalqi Allahi thalika alddeenu alqayyimu walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona
Fa'aqim Wajhaka Lilddīni Ĥanīfāan Fiţrata Allāhi Allatī Faţara An-Nāsa `Alayhā Lā Tabdīla Likhalqi Allāhi Dhālika Ad-Dīnu Al-Qayyimu Wa Lakinna 'Akthara An-Nāsi Lā Ya`lamūna
So set your heart as a person of pure faith on this religion, the original nature endowed by Allah according to which He originated mankind (There is no altering Allah’s creation; that is the upright religion, but most people do not know)
Ayah 31
Muneebeena ilayhi waittaqoohu waaqeemoo alssalata wala takoonoo mina almushrikeena
Munībīna 'Ilayhi Wa Attaqūhu Wa 'Aqīmū Aş-Şalāata Wa Lā Takūnū Mina Al-Mushrikīna
—turning to Him in penitence, and be wary of Him, and maintain the prayer, and do not be one of the polytheists
Ayah 32
Mina allatheena farraqoo deenahum wakanoo shiyaAAan kullu hizbin bima ladayhim farihoona
Mina Al-Ladhīna Farraqū Dīnahum Wa Kānū Shiya`āan Kullu Ĥizbin Bimā Ladayhim Fariĥūna
—those who split up their religion and became sects: each faction boasting about what it possessed
Ayah 33
Waitha massa alnnasa durrun daAAaw rabbahum muneebeena ilayhi thumma itha athaqahum minhu rahmatan itha fareequn minhum birabbihim yushrikoona
Wa 'Idhā Massa An-Nāsa Đurrun Da`aw Rabbahum Munībīna 'Ilayhi Thumma 'Idhā 'Adhāqahum Minhu Raĥmatan 'Idhā Farīqun Minhum Birabbihim Yushrikūna
When distress befalls people, they supplicate their Lord, turning to Him in penitence. Then, when He lets them taste His mercy, behold, a part of them ascribe partners to their Lord
Ayah 34
Liyakfuroo bima ataynahum fatamattaAAoo fasawfa taAAlamoona
Liyakfurū Bimā 'Ātaynāhum Fatamatta`ū Fasawfa Ta`lamūna
being ungrateful toward what We have given them. So let them enjoy. Soon they will know
Ayah 35
Am anzalna AAalayhim sultanan fahuwa yatakallamu bima kanoo bihi yushrikoona
Am 'Anzalnā `Alayhim Sulţānāan Fahuwa Yatakallamu Bimā Kānū Bihi Yushrikūna
Have We sent down to them any authority which might assert what they associate with Him
Ayah 36
Waitha athaqna alnnasa rahmatan farihoo biha wain tusibhum sayyiatun bima qaddamat aydeehim itha hum yaqnatoona
Wa 'Idhā 'Adhaqnā An-Nāsa Raĥmatan Fariĥū Bihā Wa 'In Tuşibhum Sayyi'atun Bimā Qaddamat 'Aydīhim 'Idhā Hum Yaqnaţūna
When We let people taste [Our] mercy, they boast about it; but should an ill visit them because of what their hands have sent ahead, behold, they become despondent
Ayah 37
Awalam yaraw anna Allaha yabsutu alrrizqa liman yashao wayaqdiru inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yuminoona
Awalam Yaraw 'Anna Allāha Yabsuţu Ar-Rizqa Liman Yashā'u Wa Yaqdiru 'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyātin Liqawmin Yu'uminūna
Do they not see that Allah expands the provision for whomever He wishes, and tightens it? There are indeed signs in that for a people who have faith
Ayah 38
Faati tha alqurba haqqahu waalmiskeena waibna alssabeeli thalika khayrun lillatheena yureedoona wajha Allahi waolaika humu almuflihoona
Fa'āti Dhā Al-Qurbá Ĥaqqahu Wa Al-Miskīna Wa Abna As-Sabīli Dhālika Khayrun Lilladhīna Yurīdūna Wajha Allāhi Wa 'Ūlā'ika Humu Al-Mufliĥūna
Give the relative his due, and the needy and the traveller [as well]. That is better for those who seek Allah’s pleasure, and it is they who are the felicitous
Ayah 39
Wama ataytum min riban liyarbuwa fee amwali alnnasi fala yarboo AAinda Allahi wama ataytum min zakatin tureedoona wajha Allahi faolaika humu almudAAifoona
Wa Mā 'Ātaytum Min Ribāan Liyarbuwā Fī 'Amwāli An-Nāsi Falā Yarbū `Inda Allāhi Wa Mā 'Ātaytum Min Zakāatin Turīdūna Wajha Allāhi Fa'ūlā'ika Humu Al-Muđ`ifūna
What you give in usury in order that it may increase people’s wealth does not increase with Allah. But what you pay as zakat seeking Allah’s pleasure—it is they who will be given a manifold increase
Ayah 40
Allahu allathee khalaqakum thumma razaqakum thumma yumeetukum thumma yuhyeekum hal min shurakaikum man yafAAalu min thalikum min shayin subhanahu wataAAala AAamma yushrikoona
Allāhu Al-Ladhī Khalaqakum Thumma Razaqakum Thumma Yumītukum Thumma Yuĥyīkum Hal Min Shurakā'ikum Man Yaf`alu Min Dhālikum Min Shay'in Subĥānahu Wa Ta`ālá `Ammā Yushrikūna
It is Allah who created you and then He provided for you, then He makes you die, then He will bring you to life. Is there anyone among your ‘partners’ who does anything of that kind? Immaculate is He and exalted above [having] any partners that they ascribe [to Him]
Ayah 41
Thahara alfasadu fee albarri waalbahri bima kasabat aydee alnnasi liyutheeqahum baAAda allathee AAamiloo laAAallahum yarjiAAoona
Žahara Al-Fasādu Fī Al-Barri Wa Al-Baĥri Bimā Kasabat 'Aydī An-Nāsi Liyudhīqahum Ba`đa Al-Ladhī `Amilū La`allahum Yarji`ūna
Corruption has appeared in land and sea because of the doings of the people’s hands, that He may make them taste something of what they have done, so that they may come back
Ayah 42
Qul seeroo fee alardi faonthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena min qablu kana aktharuhum mushrikeena
Qul Sīrū Fī Al-'Arđi Fānžurū Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Al-Ladhīna Min Qablu Kāna 'Aktharuhum Mushrikīna
Say, ‘Travel over the land, and see how was the fate of those who were before [you], most of whom were polytheists.’
Ayah 43
Faaqim wajhaka lilddeeni alqayyimi min qabli an yatiya yawmun la maradda lahu mina Allahi yawmaithin yassaddaAAoona
Fa'aqim Wajhaka Lilddīni Al-Qayyimi Min Qabli 'An Ya'tiya Yawmun Lā Maradda Lahu Mina Allāhi Yawma'idhin Yaşşadda`ūna
So set your heart on the upright religion, before there comes a day irrevocable from Allah. On that day they shall be split [into various groups]
Ayah 44
Man kafara faAAalayhi kufruhu waman AAamila salihan falianfusihim yamhadoona
Man Kafara Fa`alayhi Kufruhu Wa Man `Amila Şāliĥāan Fali'anfusihim Yamhadūna
Whoever is faithless shall face the consequences of his faithlessness, and those who act righteously only prepare for their own souls
Ayah 45
Liyajziya allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati min fadlihi innahu la yuhibbu alkafireena
Liyajziya Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Min Fađlihi 'Innahu Lā Yuĥibbu Al-Kāfirīna
so that He may reward those who have faith and do righteous deeds out of His grace. Indeed, He does not like the faithless
Ayah 46
Wamin ayatihi an yursila alrriyaha mubashshiratin waliyutheeqakum min rahmatihi walitajriya alfulku biamrihi walitabtaghoo min fadlihi walaAAallakum tashkuroona
Wa Min 'Āyātihi 'An Yursila Ar-Riyāĥa Mubashirātin Wa Liyudhīqakum Min Raĥmatihi Wa Litajriya Al-Fulku Bi'amrihi Wa Litabtaghū Min Fađlihi Wa La`allakum Tashkurūna
And of His signs is that He sends the winds as bearers of good news and to let you taste of His mercy, and that the ships may sail by His command, and that you may seek of His bounty, and so that you may give [Him] thanks
Ayah 47
Walaqad arsalna min qablika rusulan ila qawmihim fajaoohum bialbayyinati faintaqamna mina allatheena ajramoo wakana haqqan AAalayna nasru almumineena
Wa Laqad 'Arsalnā Min Qablika Rusulāan 'Ilá Qawmihim Fajā'ūhum Bil-Bayyināti Fāntaqamnā Mina Al-Ladhīna 'Ajramū Wa Kāna Ĥaqqāan `Alaynā Naşru Al-Mu'uminīna
Certainly We sent apostles to their people before you, and they brought them manifest proofs. Then We took vengeance upon those who were guilty, and it was a must for Us to help the faithful
Ayah 48
Allahu allathee yursilu alrriyaha fatutheeru sahaban fayabsutuhu fee alssamai kayfa yashao wayajAAaluhu kisafan fatara alwadqa yakhruju min khilalihi faitha asaba bihi man yashao min AAibadihi itha hum yastabshiroona
Allāhu Al-Ladhī Yursilu Ar-Riyāĥa Fatuthīru Saĥābāan Fayabsuţuhu Fī As-Samā'i Kayfa Yashā'u Wa Yaj`aluhu Kisafāan Fatará Al-Wadqa Yakhruju Min Khilālihi Fa'idhā 'Aşāba Bihi Man Yashā'u Min `Ibādihi 'Idhā Hum Yastabshirūna
It is Allah who sends the winds. Then they generate a cloud, then He spreads it as He wishes in the sky, and forms it into fragments, whereat you see the rain issuing from its midst. Then, when He strikes with it whomever of His servants that He wishes, behold, they rejoice
Ayah 49
Wain kanoo min qabli an yunazzala AAalayhim min qablihi lamubliseena
Wa 'In Kānū Min Qabli 'An Yunazzala `Alayhim Min Qablihi Lamublisīna
and indeed they had been despondent earlier, before it was sent down upon them
Ayah 50
Faonthur ila athari rahmati Allahi kayfa yuhyee alarda baAAda mawtiha inna thalika lamuhyee almawta wahuwa AAala kulli shayin qadeerun
Fānžur 'Ilá 'Āthāri Raĥmati Allāhi Kayfa Yuĥyī Al-'Arđa Ba`da Mawtihā 'Inna Dhālika Lamuĥyī Al-Mawtá Wa Huwa `Alá Kulli Shay'in Qadīrun
So observe the effects of Allah’s mercy: how He revives the earth after its death! Indeed He is the reviver of the dead, and He has power over all things
Ayah 51
Walain arsalna reehan faraawhu musfarran lathalloo min baAAdihi yakfuroona
Wa La'in 'Arsalnā Rīĥāan Fara'awhu Muşfarrāan Lažallū Min Ba`dihi Yakfurūna
And if We send a wind and they see it turn yellow, they will surely become ungrateful after that
Ayah 52
Fainnaka la tusmiAAu almawta wala tusmiAAu alssumma aldduAAaa itha wallaw mudbireena
Fa'innaka Lā Tusmi`u Al-Mawtá Wa Lā Tusmi`u Aş-Şumma Ad-Du`ā'a 'Idhā Wa Llaw Mudbirīna
Indeed you cannot make the dead hear, nor can you make the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs [upon you]
Ayah 53
Wama anta bihadi alAAumyi AAan dalalatihim in tusmiAAu illa man yuminu biayatina fahum muslimoona
Wa Mā 'Anta Bihādī Al-`Umyi `An Đalālatihim 'In Tusmi`u 'Illā Man Yu'uminu Bi'āyātinā Fahum Muslimūn
nor can you lead the blind out of their error. You can make only those hear who have faith in Our signs and have submitted
Ayah 54
Allahu allathee khalaqakum min daAAfin thumma jaAAala min baAAdi daAAfin quwwatan thumma jaAAala min baAAdi quwwatin daAAfan washaybatan yakhluqu ma yashao wahuwa alAAaleemu alqadeeru
Allāhu Al-Ladhī Khalaqakum Min Đa`fin Thumma Ja`ala Min Ba`di Đa`fin Qūwatan Thumma Ja`ala Min Ba`di Qūwatin Đa`fāan Wa Shaybatan Yakhluqu Mā Yashā'u Wa Huwa Al-`Alīmu Al-Qadīru
It is Allah who created you from [a state of] weakness, then He gave you power after weakness. Then, after power, He ordained weakness and old age: He creates whatever He wishes, and He is the All-knowing, the All-powerful
Ayah 55
Wayawma taqoomu alssaAAatu yuqsimu almujrimoona ma labithoo ghayra saAAatin kathalika kanoo yufakoona
Wa Yawma Taqūmu As-Sā`atu Yuqsimu Al-Mujrimūna Mā Labithū Ghayra Sā`atin Kadhālika Kānū Yu'ufakūna
On the day when the Hour sets in, the guilty will swear that they had remained only for an hour. That is how they were used to lying [in the world]
Ayah 56
Waqala allatheena ootoo alAAilma waaleemana laqad labithtum fee kitabi Allahi ila yawmi albaAAthi fahatha yawmu albaAAthi walakinnakum kuntum la taAAlamoona
Wa Qāla Al-Ladhīna 'Ūtū Al-`Ilma Wa Al-'Īmāna Laqad Labithtum Fī Kitābi Allāhi 'Ilá Yawmi Al-Ba`thi Fahadhā Yawmu Al-Ba`thi Wa Lakinnakum Kuntum Lā Ta`lamūna
But those who were given knowledge and faith will say, ‘Certainly you remained in Allah’s Book until the Day of Resurrection. This is the Day of Resurrection, but you did not know.’
Ayah 57
Fayawmaithin la yanfaAAu allatheena thalamoo maAAthiratuhum wala hum yustaAAtaboona
Fayawma'idhin Lā Yanfa`u Al-Ladhīna Žalamū Ma`dhiratuhum Wa Lā Hum Yusta`tabūna
On that day, the excuses of the wrongdoers will not benefit them, nor will they be asked to propitiate [Allah]
Ayah 58
Walaqad darabna lilnnasi fee hatha alqurani min kulli mathalin walain jitahum biayatin layaqoolanna allatheena kafaroo in antum illa mubtiloona
Wa Laqad Đarabnā Lilnnāsi Fī Hādhā Al-Qur'āni Min Kulli Mathalin Wa La'in Ji'tahum Bi'āyatin Layaqūlanna Al-Ladhīna Kafarū 'In 'Antum 'Illā Mubţilūna
Certainly we have drawn for mankind in this Quran every [kind of] parable. Indeed if you bring them a sign, the faithless will surely say, ‘You are nothing but fabricators!’
Ayah 59
Kathalika yatbaAAu Allahu AAala quloobi allatheena la yaAAlamoona
Kadhālika Yaţba`u Allāhu `Alá Qulūbi Al-Ladhīna Lā Ya`lamūna
Thus does Allah seal the hearts of those who do not know
Ayah 60
Faisbir inna waAAda Allahi haqqun wala yastakhiffannaka allatheena la yooqinoona
Fāşbir 'Inna Wa`da Allāhi Ĥaqqun Wa Lā Yastakhiffannaka Al-Ladhīna Lā Yūqinūna
So be patient! Allah’s promise is indeed true. And do not let yourself be upset by those who have no conviction
