Faatir

The Originator

سُورَةُ فَاطِرٍ

Meccan 45 Verses

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1

Ayah 1

Alhamdu lillahi fatiri alssamawati waalardi jaAAili almalaikati rusulan olee ajnihatin mathna wathulatha warubaAAa yazeedu fee alkhalqi ma yashao inna Allaha AAala kulli shayin qadeerun

Al-Ĥamdu Lillāhi Fāţiri As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Jā`ili Al-Malā'ikati Rusulāan 'Ūlī 'Ajniĥatin Mathná Wa Thulātha Wa Rubā`a Yazīdu Fī Al-Khalqi Mā Yashā'u 'Inna Allāha `Alá Kulli Shay'in Qadīrun

All praise belongs to God, the creator of the heavens and the earth who has made the angels Messengers of two or three or four wings. He increases the creation as He wills. God has power over all things

Ayah 2

Ma yaftahi Allahu lilnnasi min rahmatin fala mumsika laha wama yumsik fala mursila lahu min baAAdihi wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu

Mā Yaftaĥi Allāhu Lilnnāsi Min Raĥmatin Falā Mumsika Lahā Wa Mā Yumsik Falā Mursila Lahu Min Ba`dihi Wa Huwa Al-`Azīzu Al-Ĥakīmu

No one can withhold whatever mercy God grants to the human being, nor can one release whatever He withholds. He is Majestic and All-wise

Ayah 3

Ya ayyuha alnnasu othkuroo niAAmata Allahi AAalaykum hal min khaliqin ghayru Allahi yarzuqukum mina alssamai waalardi la ilaha illa huwa faanna tufakoona

Yā 'Ayyuhā An-Nāsu Adhkurū Ni`mata Allāhi `Alaykum Hal Min Khāliqin Ghayru Allāhi Yarzuqukum Mina As-Samā'i Wa Al-'Arđi Lā 'Ilāha 'Illā Huwa Fa'anná Tu'ufakūna

People, remember the bounty of God that He has granted to you. Is their any creator besides God who could provide you with sustenance from the heavens and the earth? He is the only God. Where then can you turn away

Ayah 4

Wain yukaththibooka faqad kuththibat rusulun min qablika waila Allahi turjaAAu alomooru

Wa 'In Yukadhibūka Faqad Kudhibat Rusulun Min Qablika Wa 'Ilá Allāhi Turja`u Al-'Umūru

If they reject you, other Messengers had certainly been rejected before you. All decisions are in the hands of God

Ayah 5

Ya ayyuha alnnasu inna waAAda Allahi haqqun fala taghurrannakumu alhayatu alddunya wala yaghurrannakum biAllahi algharooru

Yā 'Ayyuhā An-Nāsu 'Inna Wa`da Allāhi Ĥaqqun Falā Taghurrannakumu Al-Ĥayā Atu Ad-Dunyā Wa Lā Yaghurrannakum Billāhi Al-Gharūru

People, the promise of God is true. Let not the worldly life deceive you. Let not the devil deceive you about God

Ayah 6

Inna alshshaytana lakum AAaduwwun faittakhithoohu AAaduwwan innama yadAAoo hizbahu liyakoonoo min ashabi alssaAAeeri

Inna Ash-Shayţāna Lakum `Adūwun Fa Attakhidhūhu `Adūwāan 'Innamā Yad`ū Ĥizbahu Liyakūnū Min 'Aşĥābi As-Sa`īri

Satan is your enemy. Thus, consider him as your enemy. His party only calls you to make you the dwellers of the burning fire

Ayah 7

Allatheena kafaroo lahum AAathabun shadeedun waallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum maghfiratun waajrun kabeerun

Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Lahum `Adhābun Shadīdun Wa Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Lahum Maghfiratun Wa 'Ajrun Kabīrun

The unbelievers will suffer a severe torment, but the righteously striving believers will receive forgiveness and a great reward

Ayah 8

Afaman zuyyina lahu sooo AAamalihi faraahu hasanan fainna Allaha yudillu man yashao wayahdee man yashao fala tathhab nafsuka AAalayhim hasaratin inna Allaha AAaleemun bima yasnaAAoona

Afaman Zuyyina Lahu Sū'u `Amalihi Fara'āhu Ĥasanāan Fa'inna Allāha Yuđillu Man Yashā'u Wa Yahdī Man Yashā'u Falā Tadh/hab Nafsuka `Alayhim Ĥasarātin 'Inna Allāha `Alīmun Bimā Yaşna`ūna

Can one whose evil deeds seem attractive and virtuous to him (be compared to a truly righteous person)? God guides or causes to go astray whomever He wants. (Muhammad), do not be grieved because of their disbelief. God knows well whatever they do

Ayah 9

WaAllahu allathee arsala alrriyaha fatutheeru sahaban fasuqnahu ila baladin mayyitin faahyayna bihi alarda baAAda mawtiha kathalika alnnushooru

Wa Allāhu Al-Ladhī 'Arsala Ar-Riyāĥa Fatuthīru Saĥābāan Fasuqnāhu 'Ilá Baladin Mayyitin Fa'aĥyaynā Bihi Al-'Arđa Ba`da Mawtihā Kadhālika An-Nushūru

It is God who sends the winds to raise the clouds. We then drive them unto barren areas and revive the dead earth. (The Resurrection) will also be executed in the same way

Ayah 10

Man kana yureedu alAAizzata falillahi alAAizzatu jameeAAan ilayhi yasAAadu alkalimu alttayyibu waalAAamalu alssalihu yarfaAAuhu waallatheena yamkuroona alssayyiati lahum AAathabun shadeedun wamakru olaika huwa yabooru

Man Kāna Yurīdu Al-`Izzata Falillāhi Al-`Izzatu Jamī`āan 'Ilayhi Yaş`adu Al-Kalimu Aţ-Ţayyibu Wa Al-`Amalu Aş-Şāliĥu Yarfa`uhu Wa Al-Ladhīna Yamkurūna As-Sayyi'āti Lahum `Adhābun Shadīdun Wa Makru 'Ūlā'ika Huwa Yabūru

Whoever seeks honor should know that all honor belongs to God. Good words (worship) will be presented before Him and He will accept good deeds. Those who make evil plans will suffer intense torment. Their evil plans are doomed to destruction

Ayah 11

WaAllahu khalaqakum min turabin thumma min nutfatin thumma jaAAalakum azwajan wama tahmilu min ontha wala tadaAAu illa biAAilmihi wama yuAAammaru min muAAammarin wala yunqasu min AAumurihi illa fee kitabin inna thalika AAala Allahi yaseerun

Wa Allāhu Khalaqakum Min Turābin Thumma Min Nuţfatin Thumma Ja`alakum 'Azwājāan Wa Mā Taĥmilu Min 'Unthá Wa Lā Tađa`u 'Illā Bi`ilmihi Wa Mā Yu`ammaru Min Mu`ammarin Wa Lā Yunqaşu Min `Umurihi 'Illā Fī Kitābin 'Inna Dhālika `Alá Allāhi Yasīrun

God created you from clay which He then turned into a living germ and made you into pairs. No female conceives or delivers without His knowledge. No one grows older nor can anything be reduced from one's life without having its record in the Book. This is not at all difficult for God

Ayah 12

Wama yastawee albahrani hatha AAathbun furatun saighun sharabuhu wahatha milhun ojajun wamin kullin takuloona lahman tariyyan watastakhrijoona hilyatan talbasoonaha watara alfulka feehi mawakhira litabtaghoo min fadlihi walaAAallakum tashkuroona

Wa Mā Yastawī Al-Baĥrāni Hādhā `Adhbun Furātun Sā'ighun Sharābuhu Wa Hadhā Milĥun 'Ujājun Wa Min Kullin Ta'kulūna Laĥmāan Ţarīyāan Wa Tastakhrijūna Ĥilyatan Talbasūnahā Wa Tará Al-Fulka Fīhi Mawākhira Litabtaghū Min Fađlihi Wa La`allakum Tashkurūna

The two oceans, one sweet and the other salty, are not alike. From each you can eat fresh meat and obtain ornaments to use. You see ships ploughing their way through them so that you may seek His favor and give Him thanks

Ayah 13

Yooliju allayla fee alnnahari wayooliju alnnahara fee allayli wasakhkhara alshshamsa waalqamara kullun yajree liajalin musamman thalikumu Allahu rabbukum lahu almulku waallatheena tadAAoona min doonihi ma yamlikoona min qitmeerin

Yūliju Al-Layla Fī An-Nahāri Wa Yūliju An-Nahāra Fī Al-Layli Wa Sakhkhara Ash-Shamsa Wa Al-Qamara Kullun Yajrī Li'jalin Musammáan Dhalikumu Allāhu Rabbukum Lahu Al-Mulku Wa Al-Ladhīna Tad`ūna Min Dūnihi Mā Yamlikūna Min Qiţmīrin

He causes the night to enter into the day and the day to enter into the night. He has made subservient to Himself the sun and moon, each moving in an orbit for an appointed time. Such is God, your Lord, to whom belongs the kingdom. Those whom you worship besides Him do not posses even a single straw

Ayah 14

In tadAAoohum la yasmaAAoo duAAaakum walaw samiAAoo ma istajaboo lakum wayawma alqiyamati yakfuroona bishirkikum wala yunabbioka mithlu khabeerin

In Tad`ūhum Lā Yasma`ū Du`ā'akum Wa Law Sami`ū Mā Astajābū Lakum Wa Yawma Al-Qiyāmati Yakfurūna Bishirkikum Wa Lā Yunabbi'uka Mithlu Khabīrin

They will not listen to your prayers if you pray to them. Even if they would listen, they would not be able to answer you. On the Day of Judgment they will reject your worship of them. Not even an expert reporter can tell you the truth in the way that God can do

Ayah 15

Ya ayyuha alnnasu antumu alfuqarao ila Allahi waAllahu huwa alghaniyyu alhameedu

Yā 'Ayyuhā An-Nāsu 'Antumu Al-Fuqarā'u 'Ilá Allāhi Wa Allāhu Huwa Al-Ghanīyu Al-Ĥamīdu

People, you are always in need of God and God is Self-sufficient and Praiseworthy

Ayah 16

In yasha yuthhibkum wayati bikhalqin jadeedin

In Yasha' Yudh/hibkum Wa Ya'ti Bikhalqin Jadīdin

He could replace you by a new creation if He decided to

17

Ayah 17

Wama thalika AAala Allahi biAAazeezin

Wa Mā Dhālika `Alá Allāhi Bi`azīzin

This would not cost God dear at all

18

Ayah 18

Wala taziru waziratun wizra okhra wain tadAAu muthqalatun ila himliha la yuhmal minhu shayon walaw kana tha qurba innama tunthiru allatheena yakhshawna rabbahum bialghaybi waaqamoo alssalata waman tazakka fainnama yatazakka linafsihi waila Allahi almaseeru

Wa Lā Taziru Wāziratun Wizra 'Ukhrá Wa 'In Tad`u Muthqalatun 'Ilá Ĥimlihā Lā Yuĥmal Minhu Shay'un Wa Law Kāna Dhā Qurbá 'Innamā Tundhiru Al-Ladhīna Yakhshawna Rabbahum Bil-Ghaybi Wa 'Aqāmū Aş-Şalāata Wa Man Tazakká Fa'innamā Yatazakká Linafsihi Wa 'Ilá Allāhi Al-Maşīru

No one will bear the burden of another. Even if an overburdened soul should ask another to bear a part of his burden, no one, not even a relative, will do so. (Muhammad), you can only warn those who have fear of their Lord without seeing Him and who are steadfast in prayer. Whoever purifies himself, does so for his own good. To God do all things return

Ayah 19

Wama yastawee alaAAma waalbaseeru

Wa Mā Yastawī Al-'A`má Wa Al-Başīru

The blind and the seeing are not alike

20

Ayah 20

Wala alththulumatu wala alnnooru

Wa Lā Až-Žulumātu Wa Lā An-Nūr

nor are darkness and light

21

Ayah 21

Wala alththillu wala alharooru

Wa Lā Až-Žillu Wa Lā Al-Ĥarūru

nor shade and heat

22

Ayah 22

Wama yastawee alahyao wala alamwatu inna Allaha yusmiAAu man yashao wama anta bimusmiAAin man fee alquboori

Wa Mā Yastawī Al-'Aĥyā'u Wa Lā Al-'Amwātu 'Inna Allāha Yusmi`u Man Yashā'u Wa Mā 'Anta Bimusmi`in Man Fī Al-Qubūri

nor are the living and the dead. God makes to listen whomever He wants. (Muhammad), you cannot make people in the graves to listen

Ayah 23

In anta illa natheerun

In 'Anta 'Illā Nadhīrun

You are simply a warner

24

Ayah 24

Inna arsalnaka bialhaqqi basheeran wanatheeran wain min ommatin illa khala feeha natheerun

Innā 'Arsalnāka Bil-Ĥaqqi Bashīrāan Wa Nadhīrāan Wa 'In Min 'Ummatin 'Illā Khalā Fīhā Nadhīrun

We have sent you in all truth as a bearer of glad news and a warner. No nation who lived before was left without a warner

Ayah 25

Wain yukaththibooka faqad kaththaba allatheena min qablihim jaathum rusuluhum bialbayyinati wabialzzuburi wabialkitabi almuneeri

Wa 'In Yukadhibūka Faqad Kadhaba Al-Ladhīna Min Qablihim Jā'at/hum Rusuluhum Bil-Bayyināti Wa Biz-Zuburi Wa Bil-Kitābi Al-Munīri

If they reject you, (know that) others who lived before them had also rejected their Messengers, Messengers who had brought them miracles, scriptures, and the enlightening Book

26

Ayah 26

Thumma akhathtu allatheena kafaroo fakayfa kana nakeeri

Thumma 'Akhadhtu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Fakayfa Kāna Nakīri

so I seized the unbelievers and how terrible was their torment

27

Ayah 27

Alam tara anna Allaha anzala mina alssamai maan faakhrajna bihi thamaratin mukhtalifan alwanuha wamina aljibali judadun beedun wahumrun mukhtalifun alwanuha wagharabeebu soodun

Alam Tará 'Anna Allāha 'Anzala Mina As-Samā'i Mā'an Fa'akhrajnā Bihi Thamarātin Mukhtalifāan 'Alwānuhā Wa Mina Al-Jibāli Judadun Bīđun Wa Ĥumrun Mukhtalifun 'Alwānuhā Wa Gharābību Sūdun

Have you not seen that God has sent water down from the sky, has produced fruits of various colors, and has made streaks of various colors in the mountains, white, red, and intense black

28

Ayah 28

Wamina alnnasi waalddawabbi waalanAAami mukhtalifun alwanuhu kathalika innama yakhsha Allaha min AAibadihi alAAulamao inna Allaha AAazeezun ghafoorun

Wa Mina An-Nāsi Wa Ad-Dawābbi Wa Al-'An`ām Mukhtalifun 'Alwānuhu Kadhālika 'Innamā Yakhshá Allāha Min `Ibādihi Al-`Ulamā'u 'Inna Allāha `Azīzun Ghafūrun

He has also created people, beasts, and cattle of various colors. Only God's knowledgeable servants fear Him. God is Majestic and All-pardoning

Ayah 29

Inna allatheena yatloona kitaba Allahi waaqamoo alssalata waanfaqoo mimma razaqnahum sirran waAAalaniyatan yarjoona tijaratan lan taboora

Inna Al-Ladhīna Yatlūna Kitāba Allāhi Wa 'Aqāmū Aş-Şalāata Wa 'Anfaqū Mimmā Razaqnāhum Sirrāan Wa `Alāniyatan Yarjūna Tijāratan Lan Tabūra

Those who recite the Book of God, who are steadfast in prayer and, who spend out of what We have given them for the cause of God, both in public and in private, have hope in an indestructible bargain

30

Ayah 30

Liyuwaffiyahum ojoorahum wayazeedahum min fadlihi innahu ghafoorun shakoorun

Liyuwaffiyahum 'Ujūrahum Wa Yazīdahum Min Fađlihi 'Innahu Ghafūrun Shakūrun

and in receiving their reward from God and in further favors. He is All-forgiving and All-appreciating

31

Ayah 31

Waallathee awhayna ilayka mina alkitabi huwa alhaqqu musaddiqan lima bayna yadayhi inna Allaha biAAibadihi lakhabeerun baseerun

Wa Al-Ladhī 'Awĥaynā 'Ilayka Mina Al-Kitābi Huwa Al-Ĥaqqu Muşaddiqāan Limā Bayna Yadayhi 'Inna Allāha Bi`ibādihi Lakhabīrun Başīrun

Whatever We have revealed to you from the Book is all truth. It confirms what was revealed before. God sees His servants and is All-aware of them

Ayah 32

Thumma awrathna alkitaba allatheena istafayna min AAibadina faminhum thalimun linafsihi waminhum muqtasidun waminhum sabiqun bialkhayrati biithni Allahi thalika huwa alfadlu alkabeeru

Thumma 'Awrathnā Al-Kitāba Al-Ladhīna Aşţafaynā Min `Ibādinā Faminhum Žālimun Linafsihi Wa Minhum Muqtaşidun Wa Minhum Sābiqun Bil-Khayrāti Bi'idhni Allāhi Dhālika Huwa Al-Fađlu Al-Kabīru

We gave the Book as an inheritance to Our chosen servants, among whom some are unjust against their souls, some are moderate, and some are exceedingly virtuous by the permission of God. This is indeed a great favor

33

Ayah 33

Jannatu AAadnin yadkhuloonaha yuhallawna feeha min asawira min thahabin waluluan walibasuhum feeha hareerun

Jannātu `Adnin Yadkhulūnahā Yuĥallawna Fīhā Min 'Asāwira Min Dhahabin Wa Lu'ulu'uāan Wa Libāsuhum Fīhā Ĥarīrun

They will enter the gardens of Eden wherein they will be decked with bracelets of gold, pearls, and silk garments

34

Ayah 34

Waqaloo alhamdu lillahi allathee athhaba AAanna alhazana inna rabbana laghafoorun shakoorun

Wa Qālū Al-Ĥamdu Lillāhi Al-Ladhī 'Adh/haba `Annā Al-Ĥazana 'Inna Rabbanā Laghafūrun Shakūrun

They will say, "It is only God who deserves all praise. He has removed all of our suffering. Our Lord is certainly All-forgiving and All-appreciating

35

Ayah 35

Allathee ahallana dara almuqamati min fadlihi la yamassuna feeha nasabun wala yamassuna feeha lughoobun

Al-Ladhī 'Aĥallanā Dāra Al-Muqāmati Min Fađlihi Lā Yamassunā Fīhā Naşabun Wa Lā Yamassunā Fīhā Lughūbun

It is He who has granted us, through His favor, an everlasting dwelling wherein we shall experience no hardship nor any fatigue

36

Ayah 36

Waallatheena kafaroo lahum naru jahannama la yuqda AAalayhim fayamootoo wala yukhaffafu AAanhum min AAathabiha kathalika najzee kulla kafoorin

Wa Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Lahum Nāru Jahannama Lā Yuqđá `Alayhim Fayamūtū Wa Lā Yukhaffafu `Anhum Min `Adhābihā Kadhālika Najzī Kulla Kafūrin

The unbelievers will dwell in hell. It will not be decreed for them to die nor will their torment be relieved. Thus do We recompense the ungrateful ones

37

Ayah 37

Wahum yastarikhoona feeha rabbana akhrijna naAAmal salihan ghayra allathee kunna naAAmalu awalam nuAAammirkum ma yatathakkaru feehi man tathakkara wajaakumu alnnatheeru fathooqoo fama lilththalimeena min naseerin

Wa Hum Yaşţarikhūna Fīhā Rabbanā 'Akhrijnā Na`mal Şāliĥāan Ghayra Al-Ladhī Kunnā Na`malu 'Awalam Nu`ammirkum Mā Yatadhakkaru Fīhi Man Tadhakkara Wa Jā'akumu An-Nadhīru Fadhūqū Famā Lilžžālimīna Min Naşīr

Therein they will cry-out, "Lord, take us out of here. We shall act righteously and behave different to what we did before." They will be told, "Did We not allow you to live long enough for you to seek guidance? Did We not send a warner to you? Suffer (the torment). There is no one to help the unjust

38

Ayah 38

Inna Allaha AAalimu ghaybi alssamawati waalardi innahu AAaleemun bithati alssudoori

Inna Allāha `Ālimu Ghaybi As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi 'Innahu `Alīmun Bidhāti Aş-Şudūri

God has knowledge of whatever is unseen in the heavens and the earth. He knows best what the hearts contain

39

Ayah 39

Huwa allathee jaAAalakum khalaifa fee alardi faman kafara faAAalayhi kufruhu wala yazeedu alkafireena kufruhum AAinda rabbihim illa maqtan wala yazeedu alkafireena kufruhum illa khasaran

Huwa Al-Ladhī Ja`alakum Khalā'ifa Fī Al-'Arđi Faman Kafara Fa`alayhi Kufruhu Wa Lā Yazīdu Al-Kāfirīna Kufruhum `Inda Rabbihim 'Illā Maqtāan Wa Lā Yazīdu Al-Kāfirīna Kufruhum 'Illā Khasārāan

It is He who has made you each other's successors on earth. Whoever disbelieves, does so against his own self. The disbelief of the unbelievers will only increase the anger of their Lord and will only cause them greater loss

40

Ayah 40

Qul araaytum shurakaakumu allatheena tadAAoona min dooni Allahi aroonee matha khalaqoo mina alardi am lahum shirkun fee alssamawati am ataynahum kitaban fahum AAala bayyinatin minhu bal in yaAAidu alththalimoona baAAduhum baAAdan illa ghurooran

Qul 'Ara'aytum Shurakā'akumu Al-Ladhīna Tad`ūna Min Dūni Allāhi 'Arūnī Mādhā Khalaqū Mina Al-'Arđi 'Am Lahum Shirkun Fī As-Samāwāti 'Am 'Ātaynāhum Kitābāan Fahum `Alá Bayyinatin Minhu Bal 'In Ya`idu Až-Žālimūna Ba`đuhum Ba`đāan 'Illā Ghurūrāan

(Muhammad), ask them, "Think about the idols which you worship besides God. Show me what part of the earth they have created. Do they have any share in the heavens? Has God sent them a Book to confirm their authority? In fact, whatever the unjust promise each other is nothing but deceit

41

Ayah 41

Inna Allaha yumsiku alssamawati waalarda an tazoola walain zalata in amsakahuma min ahadin min baAAdihi innahu kana haleeman ghafooran

Inna Allāha Yumsiku As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa 'An Tazūlā Wa La'in Zālatā 'In 'Amsakahumā Min 'Aĥadin Min Ba`dihi 'Innahu Kāna Ĥalīmāan Ghafūrāan

God prevents the heavens and the earth from falling apart. If they do fall apart, then, no one besides Him can restore them. He is All-forbearing and All-forgiving

42

Ayah 42

Waaqsamoo biAllahi jahda aymanihim lain jaahum natheerun layakoonunna ahda min ihda alomami falamma jaahum natheerun ma zadahum illa nufooran

Wa 'Aqsamū Billāhi Jahda 'Aymānihim La'in Jā'ahum Nadhīrun Layakūnunna 'Ahdá Min 'Iĥdá Al-'Umami Falammā Jā'ahum Nadhīrun Mā Zādahum 'Illā Nufūrāan

They solemnly swear that if a warner were to come to them, they would certainly have been better guided than any other nation. But when a warner came to them, it only increased their hatred

43

Ayah 43

Istikbaran fee alardi wamakra alssayyii wala yaheequ almakru alssayyio illa biahlihi fahal yanthuroona illa sunnata alawwaleena falan tajida lisunnati Allahi tabdeelan walan tajida lisunnati Allahi tahweelan

Astikbārāan Fī Al-'Arđi Wa Makra As-Sayyi'i Wa Lā Yaĥīqu Al-Makru As-Sayyi'u 'Illā Bi'ahlihi Fahal Yanžurūna 'Illā Sunnata Al-'Awwalīna Falan Tajida Lisunnati Allāhi Tabdīlāan Wa Lan Tajida Lisunnati Allāhi Taĥwīlāan

because of their pride in the land and their evil plots. Evil plots only affect the plotters. Do they expect anything other than (God's) tradition (torment) with those who lived before. You will never find any change in the tradition of God nor will you find any alteration in it

Ayah 44

Awalam yaseeroo fee alardi fayanthuroo kayfa kana AAaqibatu allatheena min qablihim wakanoo ashadda minhum quwwatan wama kana Allahu liyuAAjizahu min shayin fee alssamawati wala fee alardi innahu kana AAaleeman qadeeran

Awalam Yasīrū Fī Al-'Arđi Fayanžurū Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Al-Ladhīna Min Qablihim Wa Kānū 'Ashadda Minhum Qūwatan Wa Mā Kāna Allāhu Liyu`jizahu Min Shay'in Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Lā Fī Al-'Arđi 'Innahu Kāna `Alīmāan Qadīrāan

Have they not travelled (sufficiently) through the land to see how terrible was the end of the mightier people who lived before them. Nothing in the heavens or the earth can challenge God. God is All-knowing and All-powerful

Ayah 45

Walaw yuakhithu Allahu alnnasa bima kasaboo ma taraka AAala thahriha min dabbatin walakin yuakhkhiruhum ila ajalin musamman faitha jaa ajaluhum fainna Allaha kana biAAibadihi baseeran

Wa Law Yu'uākhidhu Allāhu An-Nāsa Bimā Kasabū Mā Taraka `Alá Žahrihā Min Dābbatin Wa Lakin Yu'uakhkhiruhum 'Ilá 'Ajalin Musammáan Fa'idhā Jā'a 'Ajaluhum Fa'inna Allāha Kāna Bi`ibādihi Başīrāan

Were God to punish people for their deeds immediately, not one creature would have survived on earth. However, He has given them a respite for an appointed time and when their term comes to an end, let it be known that God watches over His servants
