Ornaments of gold

سُورَةُ الزُّخۡرُفِ

Meccan 89 Verses

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Ayah 1

Hameem

Ĥā-Mīm

Ha. Mim

Ayah 2

Waalkitabi almubeeni

Wa Al-Kitābi Al-Mubīni

I swear by the illustrious Book

3

Ayah 3

Inna jaAAalnahu quranan AAarabiyyan laAAallakum taAAqiloona

Innā Ja`alnāhu Qur'ānāan `Arabīyāan La`allakum Ta`qilūna

We have made it an Arabic reading text so that perhaps you may understand

Ayah 4

Wainnahu fee ommi alkitabi ladayna laAAaliyyun hakeemun

Wa 'Innahu Fī 'Ummi Al-Kitābi Ladaynā La`alīyun Ĥakīmun

It (the Quran) exists in the original Book with Us which is certainly Most Exalted, full of wisdom and (beyond linguistic structures)

Ayah 5

Afanadribu AAankumu alththikra safhan an kuntum qawman musrifeena

Afanađribu `Ankumu Adh-Dhikra Şafĥāan 'An Kuntum Qawmāan Musrifīna

Can We ignore sending you the Quran just because you are a transgressing people

Ayah 6

Wakam arsalna min nabiyyin fee alawwaleena

Wa Kam 'Arsalnā Min Nabīyin Fī Al-'Awwalīna

How many Messengers did We send to the ancient people

7

Ayah 7

Wama yateehim min nabiyyin illa kanoo bihi yastahzioona

Wa Mā Ya'tīhim Min Nabīyin 'Illā Kānū Bihi Yastahzi'ūn

No Prophet came to them whom they did not mock

8

Ayah 8

Faahlakna ashadda minhum batshan wamada mathalu alawwaleena

Fa'ahlaknā 'Ashadda Minhum Baţshāan Wa Mađá Mathalu Al-'Awwalīna

We destroyed the strongest among them in power. The stories of the ancient people have already been mentioned

Ayah 9

Walain saaltahum man khalaqa alssamawati waalarda layaqoolunna khalaqahunna alAAazeezu alAAaleemu

Wa La'in Sa'altahum Man Khalaqa As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa Layaqūlunna Khalaqahunna Al-`Azīzu Al-`Alīmu

(Muhammad), if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will certainly say, "The Majestic and All-knowing God has created them

Ayah 10

Allathee jaAAala lakumu alarda mahdan wajaAAala lakum feeha subulan laAAallakum tahtadoona

Al-Ladhī Ja`ala Lakumu Al-'Arđa Mahdāan Wa Ja`ala Lakum Fīhā Subulāan La`allakum Tahtadūna

It is He who has made the earth for you as a cradle and has made roads therein so that you will perhaps seek guidance

Ayah 11

Waallathee nazzala mina alssamai maan biqadarin faansharna bihi baldatan maytan kathalika tukhrajoona

Wa Al-Ladhī Nazzala Mina As-Samā'i Mā'an Biqadarin Fa'ansharnā Bihi Baldatan Maytāan Kadhālika Tukhrajūna

It is He who has sent down water from the sky in a known measure by which He has given life to the dead earth. In the same way will you also be resurrected

Ayah 12

Waallathee khalaqa alazwaja kullaha wajaAAala lakum mina alfulki waalanAAami ma tarkaboona

Wa Al-Ladhī Khalaqa Al-'Azwāja Kullahā Wa Ja`ala Lakum Mina Al-Fulki Wa Al-'An`ām Mā Tarkabūna

It is He who has created everything in pairs and the ships and cattle for you to ride

Ayah 13

Litastawoo AAala thuhoorihi thumma tathkuroo niAAmata rabbikum itha istawaytum AAalayhi wataqooloo subhana allathee sakhkhara lana hatha wama kunna lahu muqrineena

Litastawū `Alá Žuhūrihi Thumma Tadhkurū Ni`mata Rabbikum 'Idhā Astawaytum `Alayhi Wa Taqūlū Subĥāna Al-Ladhī Sakhkhara Lanā Hādhā Wa Mā Kunnā Lahu Muqrinīna

so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, "Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves

Ayah 14

Wainna ila rabbina lamunqaliboona

Wa 'Innā 'Ilá Rabbinā Lamunqalibūna

To our Lord we shall all return

15

Ayah 15

WajaAAaloo lahu min AAibadihi juzan inna alinsana lakafoorun mubeenun

Wa Ja`alū Lahu Min `Ibādihi Juz'āan 'Inna Al-'Insāna Lakafūrun Mubīnun

The pagans have considered some of His servants as His children. There is no doubt that the human being is simply ungrateful

Ayah 16

Ami ittakhatha mimma yakhluqu banatin waasfakum bialbaneena

Am Attakhadha Mimmā Yakhluqu Banātin Wa 'Aşfākum Bil-Banīna

Has God chosen some of His own creatures as daughters for Himself and has given you the preference of having sons

Ayah 17

Waitha bushshira ahaduhum bima daraba lilrrahmani mathalan thalla wajhuhu muswaddan wahuwa katheemun

Wa 'Idhā Bushira 'Aĥaduhum Bimā Đaraba Lilrraĥmani Mathalāan Žalla Wajhuhu Muswaddāan Wa Huwa Kažīmun

When one of them is given the glad news of the birth of a daughter, which they believe to be the only kind of child that the Beneficent God can have, his face blackens with anger

Ayah 18

Awaman yunashshao fee alhilyati wahuwa fee alkhisami ghayru mubeenin

Awaman Yunasha'u Fī Al-Ĥilyati Wa Huwa Fī Al-Khişāmi Ghayru Mubīnin

Does God choose for Himself the kind of children who grow up wearing ornaments and who are not strong enough to defend their rights

Ayah 19

WajaAAaloo almalaikata allatheena hum AAibadu alrrahmani inathan ashahidoo khalqahum satuktabu shahadatuhum wayusaloona

Wa Ja`alū Al-Malā'ikata Al-Ladhīna Hum `Ibādu Ar-Raĥmāni 'Ināthāan 'Ashahidū Khalqahum Satuktabu Shahādatuhum Wa Yus'alūna

Do they say that the angels, who are the servants of the Beneficent God, are females? Have they witnessed their creation? Their words as such will be recorded and they will be questioned for it

Ayah 20

Waqaloo law shaa alrrahmanu ma AAabadnahum ma lahum bithalika min AAilmin in hum illa yakhrusoona

Wa Qālū Law Shā'a Ar-Raĥmānu Mā `Abadnāhum Mā Lahum Bidhālika Min `Ilmin 'In Hum 'Illā Yakhruşūna

The pagans say, "Had the Beneficent God wanted, we would not have worshipped them (idols)." Whatever they say is not based on knowledge. It is only a false conjecture

Ayah 21

Am ataynahum kitaban min qablihi fahum bihi mustamsikoona

Am 'Ātaynāhum Kitābāan Min Qablihi Fahum Bihi Mustamsikūna

Had We, before sending the Quran, given them a book to which they now refer as an authority

22

Ayah 22

Bal qaloo inna wajadna abaana AAala ommatin wainna AAala atharihim muhtadoona

Bal Qālū 'Innā Wajadnā 'Ābā'anā `Alá 'Ummatin Wa 'Innā `Alá 'Āthārihim Muhtadūna

In fact, they say, "We found our fathers following a certain belief and we now follow in their footsteps for our guidance

Ayah 23

Wakathalika ma arsalna min qablika fee qaryatin min natheerin illa qala mutrafooha inna wajadna abaana AAala ommatin wainna AAala atharihim muqtadoona

Wa Kadhalika Mā 'Arsalnā Min Qablika Fī Qaryatin Min Nadhīrin 'Illā Qāla Mutrafūhā 'Innā Wajadnā 'Ābā'anā `Alá 'Ummatin Wa 'Innā `Alá 'Āthārihim Muqtadūna

In the same way, whenever We had sent a Messenger before you to warn a town, the rich ones therein said, "We found our fathers following a certain belief and we follow in their footsteps

Ayah 24

Qala awalaw jitukum biahda mimma wajadtum AAalayhi abaakum qaloo inna bima orsiltum bihi kafiroona

Qāla 'Awalaw Ji'tukum Bi'ahdá Mimmā Wajadtum `Alayhi 'Ābā'akum Qālū 'Innā Bimā 'Ursiltum Bihi Kāfirūna

The Messengers would say, "Would you still follow in the footsteps of your fathers even if I was to bring you better guidance?" They would say, "We have no faith in your message

Ayah 25

Faintaqamna minhum faonthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almukaththibeena

Fāntaqamnā Minhum Fānžur Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Al-Mukadhibīna

We took revenge on them. See how terrible the end of those who rejected (Or revelations) was

Ayah 26

Waith qala ibraheemu liabeehi waqawmihi innanee baraon mimma taAAbudoona

Wa 'Idh Qāla 'Ibrāhīmu Li'abīhi Wa Qawmihi 'Innanī Barā'un Mimmā Ta`budūna

When Abraham said to his father and his people, "I boldly renounce what you worship

Ayah 27

Illa allathee fataranee fainnahu sayahdeeni

Illā Al-Ladhī Faţaranī Fa'innahu Sayahdīni

except for the One who has created me and will guide me

28

Ayah 28

WajaAAalaha kalimatan baqiyatan fee AAaqibihi laAAallahum yarjiAAoona

Wa Ja`alahā Kalimatan Bāqiyatan Fī `Aqibihi La`allahum Yarji`ūna

God made (belief in one God) an everlasting task for his successors, so that perhaps they would return (to Him)

29

Ayah 29

Bal mattaAAtu haolai waabaahum hatta jaahumu alhaqqu warasoolun mubeenun

Bal Matta`tu Hā'uulā' Wa 'Ābā'ahum Ĥattá Jā'ahumu Al-Ĥaqqu Wa Rasūlun Mubīnun

In fact, We allowed them and their fathers to enjoy themselves until the truth and a strong Messenger came to them

30

Ayah 30

Walamma jaahumu alhaqqu qaloo hatha sihrun wainna bihi kafiroona

Wa Lammā Jā'ahumu Al-Ĥaqqu Qālū Hādhā Siĥrun Wa 'Innā Bihi Kāfirūna

When the truth came to them, they said, "This is magic and we have no faith in it

31

Ayah 31

Waqaloo lawla nuzzila hatha alquranu AAala rajulin mina alqaryatayni AAatheemun

Wa Qālū Lawlā Nuzzila Hādhā Al-Qur'ānu `Alá Rajulin Mina Al-Qaryatayni `Ažīmin

Then they said, "Why this Quran had not been revealed to a man from either of the two great towns

Ayah 32

Ahum yaqsimoona rahmata rabbika nahnu qasamna baynahum maAAeeshatahum fee alhayati alddunya warafaAAna baAAdahum fawqa baAAdin darajatin liyattakhitha baAAduhum baAAdan sukhriyyan warahmatu rabbika khayrun mimma yajmaAAoona

Ahum Yaqsimūna Raĥmata Rabbika Naĥnu Qasamnā Baynahum Ma`īshatahum Fī Al-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Wa Rafa`nā Ba`đahum Fawqa Ba`đin Darajātin Liyattakhidha Ba`đuhum Ba`đāan Sukhrīyāan Wa Raĥmatu Rabbika Khayrun Mimmā Yajma`ūna

Do they distribute the mercy of your Lord? It is We who have distributed their sustenance in this world and raised the positions of some of them above the others so that they would mock each other. The mercy of your Lord is better than what they can amass

33

Ayah 33

Walawla an yakoona alnnasu ommatan wahidatan lajaAAalna liman yakfuru bialrrahmani libuyootihim suqufan min fiddatin wamaAAarija AAalayha yathharoona

Wa Lawlā 'An Yakūna An-Nāsu 'Ummatan Wāĥidatan Laja`alnā Liman Yakfuru Bir-Raĥmani Libuyūtihim Suqufāan Min Fađđatin Wa Ma`ārija `Alayhā Yažharūna

Were it not for the fear that all people would become one in disbelief, We would have made for the disbelievers in the Beneficent God ceilings out of silver and ladders by which they would climb up

34

Ayah 34

Walibuyootihim abwaban wasururan AAalayha yattakioona

Wa Libuyūtihim 'Abwābāan Wa Sururāan `Alayhā Yattaki'ūna

doors for their houses, couches on which to recline

35

Ayah 35

Wazukhrufan wain kullu thalika lamma mataAAu alhayati alddunya waalakhiratu AAinda rabbika lilmuttaqeena

Wa Zukhrufāan Wa 'In Kullu Dhālika Lammā Matā`u Al-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Wa Al-'Ākhiratu `Inda Rabbika Lilmuttaqīna

and other ornament of gold. All these are only the means of enjoyment in this world, but the pious will receive their reward from your Lord in the life hereafter

36

Ayah 36

Waman yaAAshu AAan thikri alrrahmani nuqayyid lahu shaytanan fahuwa lahu qareenun

Wa Man Ya`shu `An Dhikri Ar-Raĥmāni Nuqayyiđ Lahu Shayţānāan Fahuwa Lahu Qarīnun

We shall make satan the companion of whoever ignores the remembrance of the Beneficent God

37

Ayah 37

Wainnahum layasuddoonahum AAani alssabeeli wayahsaboona annahum muhtadoona

Wa 'Innahum Layaşuddūnahum `Ani As-Sabīli Wa Yaĥsabūna 'Annahum Muhtadūna

Satan will prevent them from the right path while they think that they have the right guidance

38

Ayah 38

Hatta itha jaana qala ya layta baynee wabaynaka buAAda almashriqayni fabisa alqareenu

Ĥattá 'Idhā Jā'anā Qāla Yā Layta Baynī Wa Baynaka Bu`da Al-Mashriqayni Fabi'sa Al-Qarīnu

When he returns to us, he will say (to satan), "Would that there had been as long a distance between me and you as that between the East and West. What a terrible companion you have been

39

Ayah 39

Walan yanfaAAakumu alyawma ith thalamtum annakum fee alAAathabi mushtarikoona

Wa Lan Yanfa`akumu Al-Yawma 'Idh Žalamtum 'Annakum Fī Al-`Adhābi Mushtarikūna

They will be told on the Day of Judgment, "Regret will never be of any benefit to you. You have done injustice to your souls and you will share the torment

40

Ayah 40

Afaanta tusmiAAu alssumma aw tahdee alAAumya waman kana fee dalalin mubeenin

Afa'anta Tusmi`u Aş-Şumma 'Aw Tahdī Al-`Umya Wa Man Kāna Fī Đalālin Mubīnin

(Muhammad), can you make the deaf hear or guide the blind or the one who is clearly in error

41

Ayah 41

Faimma nathhabanna bika fainna minhum muntaqimoona

Fa'immā Nadh/habanna Bika Fa'innā Minhum Muntaqimūna

We shall revenge them either after your death

42

Ayah 42

Aw nuriyannaka allathee waAAadnahum fainna AAalayhim muqtadiroona

Aw Nuriyannaka Al-Ladhī Wa`adnāhum Fa'innā `Alayhim Muqtadirūna

or show them to you suffering the torment with which We had threatened them. We are certainly dominant over them all

43

Ayah 43

Faistamsik biallathee oohiya ilayka innaka AAala siratin mustaqeemin

Fāstamsik Bial-Ladhī 'Ūĥiya 'Ilayka 'Innaka `Alá Şirāţin Mustaqīmin

Follow devotedly that which is revealed to you. You are certainly on the right path

44

Ayah 44

Wainnahu lathikrun laka waliqawmika wasawfa tusaloona

Wa 'Innahu Ladhikrun Laka Wa Liqawmika Wa Sawfa Tus'alūna

The Quran is a reminder to you and to your people and you will soon be questioned about it

45

Ayah 45

Waisal man arsalna min qablika min rusulina ajaAAalna min dooni alrrahmani alihatan yuAAbadoona

Wa As'al Man 'Arsalnā Min Qablika Min Rusulinā 'Aja`alnā Min Dūni Ar-Raĥmāni 'Ālihatan Yu`badūna

You can ask Our Messengers whom We sent before you if We had commanded them to worship other gods besides the Beneficent God

46

Ayah 46

Walaqad arsalna moosa biayatina ila firAAawna wamalaihi faqala innee rasoolu rabbi alAAalameena

Wa Laqad 'Arsalnā Mūsá Bi'āyātinā 'Ilá Fir`awna Wa Mala'ihi Faqāla 'Innī Rasūlu Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna

We sent Moses to the Pharaoh and his nobles with Our miracles and he said, "I am the Messenger of the Lord of the Universe

47

Ayah 47

Falamma jaahum biayatina itha hum minha yadhakoona

Falammā Jā'ahum Bi'āyātinā 'Idhā Hum Minhā Yađĥakūna

When he showed them Our miracles, they started to laugh at them

48

Ayah 48

Wama nureehim min ayatin illa hiya akbaru min okhtiha waakhathnahum bialAAathabi laAAallahum yarjiAAoona

Wa Mā Nurīhim Min 'Āyatin 'Illā Hiya 'Akbaru Min 'Ukhtihā Wa 'Akhadhnāhum Bil-`Adhābi La`allahum Yarji`ūna

Of all the miracles which We showed to them the latter ones were greater than the former. We struck them with torment so that perhaps they would return to Us

49

Ayah 49

Waqaloo ya ayyuha alsahiru odAAu lana rabbaka bima AAahida AAindaka innana lamuhtadoona

Wa Qālū Yā 'Ayyuhā As-Sāĥiru Ad`u Lanā Rabbaka Bimā `Ahida `Indaka 'Innanā Lamuhtadūn

They said, "Magician, pray to your Lord for us through your covenant with Him (If he saves us from the torment), we shall certainly seek guidance

50

Ayah 50

Falamma kashafna AAanhumu alAAathaba itha hum yankuthoona

Falammā Kashafnā `Anhumu Al-`Adhāba 'Idhā Hum Yankuthūna

When We relieved them from the torment they suddenly turned back on their heels

51

Ayah 51

Wanada firAAawnu fee qawmihi qala ya qawmi alaysa lee mulku misra wahathihi alanharu tajree min tahtee afala tubsiroona

Wa Nādá Fir`awnu Fī Qawmihi Qāla Yā Qawmi 'Alaysa Lī Mulku Mişra Wa Hadhihi Al-'Anhāru Tajrī Min Taĥtī 'Afalā Tubşirūna

The Pharaoh shouted to his people, "My people, is the kingdom of Egypt not mine? and can you not see that the streams flow from beneath my palace

52

Ayah 52

Am ana khayrun min hatha allathee huwa maheenun wala yakadu yubeenu

Am 'Anā Khayrun Min Hādhā Al-Ladhī Huwa Mahīnun Wa Lā Yakādu Yubīnu

Am I not better than this lowly man who can barely express himself

53

Ayah 53

Falawla olqiya AAalayhi aswiratun min thahabin aw jaa maAAahu almalaikatu muqtarineena

Falawlā 'Ulqiya `Alayhi 'Aswiratun Min Dhahabin 'Aw Jā'a Ma`ahu Al-Malā'ikatu Muqtarinīna

Why have bracelets of gold not been given to him and why have some angels not accompanied him

54

Ayah 54

Faistakhaffa qawmahu faataAAoohu innahum kanoo qawman fasiqeena

Fāstakhaffa Qawmahu Fa'aţā`ūhu 'Innahum Kānū Qawmāan Fāsiqīna

Thus, he made dimwits out of his people and they followed him. They, certainly, were a sinful people. When they invoked Our anger

55

Ayah 55

Falamma asafoona intaqamna minhum faaghraqnahum ajmaAAeena

Falammā 'Āsafūnā Antaqamnā Minhum Fa'aghraqnāhum 'Ajma`īna

We took revenge on them by drowning them all together

56

Ayah 56

FajaAAalnahum salafan wamathalan lilakhireena

Faja`alnāhum Salafāan Wa Mathalāan Lil'ākhirīna

We made them become of the people of the past and an example for the coming generations

57

Ayah 57

Walamma duriba ibnu maryama mathalan itha qawmuka minhu yasiddoona

Wa Lammā Đuriba Abnu Maryama Mathalāan 'Idhā Qawmuka Minhu Yaşiddūna

When the son of Mary was mentioned as an example, you people cried out in protest, saying

58

Ayah 58

Waqaloo aalihatuna khayrun am huwa ma daraboohu laka illa jadalan bal hum qawmun khasimoona

Wa Qālū 'A'ālihatunā Khayrun 'Am Huwa Mā Đarabūhu Laka 'Illā Jadalāan Bal Hum Qawmun Khaşimūna

Are our gods any better than Jesus (for according to Muhammad), if our gods go to hell so too will Jesus. What they say is only a false argument. In fact, they are a quarrelsome people

59

Ayah 59

In huwa illa AAabdun anAAamna AAalayhi wajaAAalnahu mathalan libanee israeela

In Huwa 'Illā `Abdun 'An`amnā `Alayhi Wa Ja`alnāhu Mathalāan Libanī 'Isrā'īla

Jesus was a servant of Ours to whom We had granted favors and whom We made as an example for the Israelites

60

Ayah 60

Walaw nashao lajaAAalna minkum malaikatan fee alardi yakhlufoona

Wa Law Nashā'u Laja`alnā Minkum Malā'ikatan Fī Al-'Arđi Yakhlufūna

Had We wanted, We could have made the angels as your successors on the earth

61

Ayah 61

Wainnahu laAAilmun lilssaAAati fala tamtarunna biha waittabiAAooni hatha siratun mustaqeemun

Wa 'Innahu La`ilmun Lilssā`ati Falā Tamtarunna Bihā Wa Attabi`ūnī Hādhā Şirāţun Mustaqīmun

(Muhammad), tell them, "Jesus is a sign of the Hour of Doom. Have no doubt about it and follow me; this is the straight path

62

Ayah 62

Wala yasuddannakumu alshshaytanu innahu lakum AAaduwwun mubeenun

Wa Lā Yaşuddannakumu Ash-Shayţānu 'Innahu Lakum `Adūwun Mubīnun

Let satan not prevent you from the right path. He is your sworn enemy

63

Ayah 63

Walamma jaa AAeesa bialbayyinati qala qad jitukum bialhikmati waliobayyina lakum baAAda allathee takhtalifoona feehi faittaqoo Allaha waateeAAooni

Wa Lammā Jā'a `Īsá Bil-Bayyināti Qāla Qad Ji'tukum Bil-Ĥikmati Wa Li'abayyina Lakum Ba`đa Al-Ladhī Takhtalifūna Fīhi Fa Attaqū Allāha Wa 'Aţī`ūni

When Jesus came with clear proof (in support of his truthfulness), he said, "I have come to you with wisdom to clarify for you some of the matters in which you have disputes. Have fear of God and obey me

64

Ayah 64

Inna Allaha huwa rabbee warabbukum faoAAbudoohu hatha siratun mustaqeemun

Inna Allāha Huwa Rabbī Wa Rabbukum Fā`budūhu Hādhā Şirāţun Mustaqīmun

God is your Lord and my Lord, so worship Him. This is the right path

65

Ayah 65

Faikhtalafa alahzabu min baynihim fawaylun lillatheena thalamoo min AAathabi yawmin aleemin

Fākhtalafa Al-'Aĥzābu Min Baynihim Fawaylun Lilladhīna Žalamū Min `Adhābi Yawmin 'Alīmin

But certain groups created differences among themselves. Woe to the unjust. They will face a painful torment

66

Ayah 66

Hal yanthuroona illa alssaAAata an tatiyahum baghtatan wahum la yashAAuroona

Hal Yanžurūna 'Illā As-Sā`ata 'An Ta'tiyahum Baghtatan Wa Hum Lā Yash`urūna

Are they waiting for the Hour of Doom when the torment will suddenly strike them and they will not even realize from where it came

67

Ayah 67

Alakhillao yawmaithin baAAduhum libaAAdin AAaduwwun illa almuttaqeena

Al-'Akhillā'u Yawma'idhin Ba`đuhum Liba`đin `Adūwun 'Illā Al-Muttaqīna

All intimate friends on that day will become each others enemies except for the pious

68

Ayah 68

Ya AAibadi la khawfun AAalaykumu alyawma wala antum tahzanoona

Yā `Ibādi Lā Khawfun `Alaykumu Al-Yawma Wa Lā 'Antum Taĥzanūna

whom God will tell, "My servants, you need have no fear on this day, nor will you be grieved

69

Ayah 69

Allatheena amanoo biayatina wakanoo muslimeena

Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Bi'āyātinā Wa Kānū Muslimīna

Those who have faith in Our revelations and have submitted themselves to Our will

70

Ayah 70

Odkhuloo aljannata antum waazwajukum tuhbaroona

Adkhulū Al-Jannata 'Antum Wa 'Azwājukum Tuĥbarūna

will be told, "Enter Paradise with your spouses in delight

71

Ayah 71

Yutafu AAalayhim bisihafin min thahabin waakwabin wafeeha ma tashtaheehi alanfusu watalaththu alaAAyunu waantum feeha khalidoona

Yuţāfu `Alayhim Bişiĥāfin Min Dhahabin Wa 'Akwābin Wa Fīhā Mā Tashtahīhi Al-'Anfusu Wa Taladhu Al-'A`yunu Wa 'Antum Fīhā Khālidūna

Golden dishes and cups will be passed among them. All that the souls may desire and that may delight their eyes will be available therein. You will live therein forever

Ayah 72

Watilka aljannatu allatee oorithtumooha bima kuntum taAAmaloona

Wa Tilka Al-Jannatu Allatī 'Ūrithtumūhā Bimā Kuntum Ta`malūna

This is the Paradise which you have received as your inheritance by virtue of what you have done

73

Ayah 73

Lakum feeha fakihatun katheeratun minha takuloona

Lakum Fīhā Fākihatun Kathīratun Minhā Ta'kulūna

You will have abundant fruits therein to consume

74

Ayah 74

Inna almujrimeena fee AAathabi jahannama khalidoona

Inna Al-Mujrimīna Fī `Adhābi Jahannama Khālidūn

The criminals will live forever in the torment of hell. Their torment will not be relieved and they will despair of escaping

75

Ayah 75

La yufattaru AAanhum wahum feehi mublisoona

Lā Yufattaru `Anhum Wa Hum Fīhi Mublisūna

We had not done any injustice to them but they had wronged themselves

76

Ayah 76

Wama thalamnahum walakin kanoo humu alththalimeena

Wa Mā Žalamnāhum Wa Lakin Kānū Humu Až-Žālimīna

They will cry out, "Guard, let your Lord destroy us

77

Ayah 77

Wanadaw ya maliku liyaqdi AAalayna rabbuka qala innakum makithoona

Wa Nādaw Yā Māliku Liyaqđi `Alaynā Rabbuka Qāla 'Innakum Mākithūna

The angelic guard will say, "You will have to stay

78

Ayah 78

Laqad jinakum bialhaqqi walakinna aktharakum lilhaqqi karihoona

Laqad Ji'nākum Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Lakinna 'Aktharakum Lilĥaqqi Kārihūna

We brought you the truth but most of you disliked it

79

Ayah 79

Am abramoo amran fainna mubrimoona

Am 'Abramū 'Amrāan Fa'innā Mubrimūna

If the disbelievers persist in their disbelief, We shall also persist in punishing them

80

Ayah 80

Am yahsaboona anna la nasmaAAu sirrahum wanajwahum bala warusuluna ladayhim yaktuboona

Am Yaĥsabūna 'Annā Lā Nasma`u Sirrahum Wa Najwāhum Balá Wa Rusulunā Ladayhim Yaktubūna

Do they think that We do not hear their secrets and whispers? We certainly can hear them and Our Messengers record it all

81

Ayah 81

Qul in kana lilrrahmani waladun faana awwalu alAAabideena

Qul 'In Kāna Lilrraĥmani Waladun Fa'anā 'Awwalu Al-`Ābidīna

(Muhammad), say, "Had the Beneficent God really had a son, I would certainly have been the first one to worship him

Ayah 82

Subhana rabbi alssamawati waalardi rabbi alAAarshi AAamma yasifoona

Subĥāna Rabbi As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Rabbi Al-`Arshi `Ammā Yaşifūna

The Lord of the heavens and the earth and the Throne is too glorious to be described in the way they describe Him

Ayah 83

Fatharhum yakhoodoo wayalAAaboo hatta yulaqoo yawmahumu allathee yooAAadoona

Fadharhum Yakhūđū Wa Yal`abū Ĥattá Yulāqū Yawmahumu Al-Ladhī Yū`adūna

Leave them (to indulge) in their desires and play around until they face that day which has been promised to them

84

Ayah 84

Wahuwa allathee fee alssamai ilahun wafee alardi ilahun wahuwa alhakeemu alAAaleemu

Wa Huwa Al-Ladhī Fī As-Samā'i 'Ilahun Wa Fī Al-'Arđi 'Ilahun Wa Huwa Al-Ĥakīmu Al-`Alīmu

It is God who is the Lord of the heavens and is the Lord on earth. He is All-wise and All-knowing

Ayah 85

Watabaraka allathee lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi wama baynahuma waAAindahu AAilmu alssaAAati wailayhi turjaAAoona

Wa Tabāraka Al-Ladhī Lahu Mulku As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Mā Baynahumā Wa `Indahu `Ilmu As-Sā`ati Wa 'Ilayhi Turja`ūna

Blessed is He to whom belongs the heavens, the earth and all that is between them and who has the knowledge of the Hour of Doom. To Him you will all return

86

Ayah 86

Wala yamliku allatheena yadAAoona min doonihi alshshafaAAata illa man shahida bialhaqqi wahum yaAAlamoona

Wa Lā Yamliku Al-Ladhīna Yad`ūna Min Dūnihi Ash-Shafā`ata 'Illā Man Shahida Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Hum Ya`lamūna

Those whom they worship besides God are not able to intercede, except for those among them who believe in the Truth (God) and who know whom to intercede for

87

Ayah 87

Walain saaltahum man khalaqahum layaqoolunna Allahu faanna yufakoona

Wa La'in Sa'altahum Man Khalaqahum Layaqūlunna Allāhu Fa'anná Yu'ufakūna

(Muhammad), if you ask them, "Who had created the idols?" They will certainly say, "God has created them." Why do you then turn away from God

88

Ayah 88

Waqeelihi yarabbi inna haolai qawmun la yuminoona

Wa Qīlihi Yā Rabbi 'Inna Hā'uulā' Qawmun Lā Yu'uminūna

(God has knowledge of Muhammad's words when he complains to Him), "My Lord, these, my people, do not believe

Ayah 89

Faisfah AAanhum waqul salamun fasawfa yaAAlamoona

Fāşfaĥ `Anhum Wa Qul Salāmun Fasawfa Ya`lamūna

We have told him, "Ignore them and say to them 'farewell'. They will soon know the consequences of their deeds
