بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Ayah 1

Ha, Meem
Ayah 2
Tanzeelu alkitabi mina Allahi alAAazeezi alhakeemi
Tanzīlu Al-Kitābi Mina Allāhi Al-`Azīzi Al-Ĥakīmi
The [gradual] sending down of the Book is from Allah, the All-mighty, All-wise
Ayah 3
Inna fee alssamawati waalardi laayatin lilmumineena
Inna Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi La'āyātin Lilmu'uminīna
In the heavens and the earth there are indeed signs for the faithful
Ayah 4
Wafee khalqikum wama yabuththu min dabbatin ayatun liqawmin yooqinoona
Wa Fī Khalqikum Wa Mā Yabuththu Min Dābbatin 'Āyātun Liqawmin Yūqinūna
There are signs for people who have certainty in your own creation and in animals, He scatters abroad
Ayah 5
Waikhtilafi allayli waalnnahari wama anzala Allahu mina alssamai min rizqin faahya bihi alarda baAAda mawtiha watasreefi alrriyahi ayatun liqawmin yaAAqiloona
Wa Akhtilāfi Al-Layli Wa An-Nahāri Wa Mā 'Anzala Allāhu Mina As-Samā'i Min Rizqin Fa'aĥyā Bihi Al-'Arđa Ba`da Mawtihā Wa Taşrīfi Ar-Riyāĥi 'Āyātun Liqawmin Ya`qilūna
There are signs for people who exercise their reason in the alternation of night and day, in the provision that Allah sends down from the sky, with which He revives the earth after its death, and in the changing of the winds
Ayah 6
Tilka ayatu Allahi natlooha AAalayka bialhaqqi fabiayyi hadeethin baAAda Allahi waayatihi yuminoona
Tilka 'Āyātu Allāhi Natlūhā `Alayka Bil-Ĥaqqi Fabi'ayyi Ĥadīthin Ba`da Allāhi Wa 'Āyātihi Yu'uminūna
These are the signs of Allah that We recite for you in truth. So what discourse will they believe after Allah and His signs
Ayah 7
Waylun likulli affakin atheemin
Waylun Likulli 'Affākin 'Athīmin
Woe to every sinful liar
Ayah 8
YasmaAAu ayati Allahi tutla AAalayhi thumma yusirru mustakbiran kaan lam yasmaAAha fabashshirhu biAAathabin aleemin
Yasma`u 'Āyāti Allāhi Tutlá `Alayhi Thumma Yuşirru Mustakbirāan Ka'an Lam Yasma`hā Fabashirhu Bi`adhābin 'Alīmin
who hears the signs of Allah being recited to him, yet persists arrogantly as if he had not heard them. So inform him of a painful punishment
Ayah 9
Waitha AAalima min ayatina shayan ittakhathaha huzuwan olaika lahum AAathabun muheenun
Wa 'Idhā `Alima Min 'Āyātinā Shay'āan Attakhadhahā Huzūan 'Ūlā'ika Lahum `Adhābun Muhīnun
Should he learn anything about Our signs, he takes them in derision. For such there is a humiliating punishment
Ayah 10
Min waraihim jahannamu wala yughnee AAanhum ma kasaboo shayan wala ma ittakhathoo min dooni Allahi awliyaa walahum AAathabun AAatheemun
Min Warā'ihim Jahannamu Wa Lā Yughnī `Anhum Mā Kasabū Shay'āan Wa Lā Mā Attakhadhū Min Dūni Allāhi 'Awliyā'a Wa Lahum `Adhābun `Ažīmun
Ahead of them is hell, and neither what they have earned, nor what they had taken as guardians besides Allah will avail them in any way, and there is a great punishment for them
Ayah 11
Hatha hudan waallatheena kafaroo biayati rabbihim lahum AAathabun min rijzin aleemin
Hādhā Hudáan Wa Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Bi'āyāti Rabbihim Lahum `Adhābun Min Rijzin 'Alīmun
This is [true] guidance, and there is a painful punishment due to defilement for those who defy the signs of their Lord
Ayah 12
Allahu allathee sakhkhara lakumu albahra litajriya alfulku feehi biamrihi walitabtaghoo min fadlihi walaAAallakum tashkuroona
Allāhu Al-Ladhī Sakhkhara Lakumu Al-Baĥra Litajriya Al-Fulku Fīhi Bi'amrihi Wa Litabtaghū Min Fađlihi Wa La`allakum Tashkurūna
It is Allah who disposed the sea for you[r benefit] so that the ships may sail in it by His command, that you may seek of His bounty and that you may give thanks
Ayah 13
Wasakhkhara lakum ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi jameeAAan minhu inna fee thalika laayatin liqawmin yatafakkaroona
Wa Sakhkhara Lakum Mā Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Mā Fī Al-'Arđi Jamī`āan Minhu 'Inna Fī Dhālika La'āyātin Liqawmin Yatafakkarūna
He has disposed for you[r benefit] whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth; all is from Him. There are indeed signs in that for a people who reflect
Ayah 14
Qul lillatheena amanoo yaghfiroo lillatheena la yarjoona ayyama Allahi liyajziya qawman bima kanoo yaksiboona
Qul Lilladhīna 'Āmanū Yaghfirū Lilladhīna Lā Yarjūna 'Ayyāma Allāhi Liyajziya Qawmāan Bimā Kānū Yaksibūna
Say to the faithful to forgive those who do not expect Allah’s days, that He may [Himself] requite every people for what they used to earn
Ayah 15
Man AAamila salihan falinafsihi waman asaa faAAalayha thumma ila rabbikum turjaAAoona
Man `Amila Şāliĥāan Falinafsihi Wa Man 'Asā'a Fa`alayhā Thumma 'Ilá Rabbikum Turja`ūna
Whoever acts righteously, it is for his own soul, and whoever does evil, it is to its own detriment, then you will be brought back to your Lord
Ayah 16
Walaqad atayna banee israeela alkitaba waalhukma waalnnubuwwata warazaqnahum mina alttayyibati wafaddalnahum AAala alAAalameena
Wa Laqad 'Ātaynā Banī 'Isrā'īla Al-Kitāba Wa Al-Ĥukma Wa An-Nubūwata Wa Razaqnāhum Mina Aţ-Ţayyibāti Wa Fađđalnāhum `Alá Al-`Ālamīna
Certainly We gave the Children of Israel the Book, judgement and prophethood and We provided them with all the good things. We gave them an advantage over all the nations
Ayah 17
Waataynahum bayyinatin mina alamri fama ikhtalafoo illa min baAAdi ma jaahumu alAAilmu baghyan baynahum inna rabbaka yaqdee baynahum yawma alqiyamati feema kanoo feehi yakhtalifoona
Wa 'Ātaynāhum Bayyinātin Mina Al-'Amri Famā Akhtalafū 'Illā Min Ba`di Mā Jā'ahumu Al-`Ilmu Baghyāan Baynahum 'Inna Rabbaka Yaqđī Baynahum Yawma Al-Qiyāmati Fīmā Kānū Fīhi Yakhtalifūna
and We gave them manifest precepts. But they did not differ except after knowledge had come to them, out of envy among themselves. Indeed your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that about which they used to differ
Ayah 18
Thumma jaAAalnaka AAala shareeAAatin mina alamri faittabiAAha wala tattabiAA ahwaa allatheena la yaAAlamoona
Thumma Ja`alnāka `Alá Sharī`atin Mina Al-'Amri Fa Attabi`hā Wa Lā Tattabi` 'Ahwā'a Al-Ladhīna Lā Ya`lamūna
Then We set you upon a clear course of the Law; so follow it, and do not follow the desires of those who do not know
Ayah 19
Innahum lan yughnoo AAanka mina Allahi shayan wainna alththalimeena baAAduhum awliyao baAAdin waAllahu waliyyu almuttaqeena
Innahum Lan Yughnū `Anka Mina Allāhi Shay'āan Wa 'Inna Až-Žālimīna Ba`đuhum 'Awliyā'u Ba`đin Wa Allāhu Wa Līyu Al-Muttaqīna
Indeed they will not avail you in any way against Allah. Indeed the wrongdoers are allies of one another, but Allah is the ally of the Godwary
Ayah 20
Hatha basairu lilnnasi wahudan warahmatun liqawmin yooqinoona
Hādhā Başā'iru Lilnnāsi Wa Hudáan Wa Raĥmatun Liqawmin Yūqinūna
These are eye-openers for mankind, and guidance and mercy for a people who have certainty
Ayah 21
Am hasiba allatheena ijtarahoo alssayyiati an najAAalahum kaallatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati sawaan mahyahum wamamatuhum saa ma yahkumoona
Am Ĥasiba Al-Ladhīna Ajtaraĥū As-Sayyi'āti 'An Naj`alahum Kālladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Sawā'an Maĥyāhum Wa Mamātuhum Sā'a Mā Yaĥkumūna
Do those who have perpetrated misdeeds suppose that We shall treat them like those who have faith and do righteous deeds, their life and death being equal? Evil is the judgement that they make
Ayah 22
Wakhalaqa Allahu alssamawati waalarda bialhaqqi walitujza kullu nafsin bima kasabat wahum la yuthlamoona
Wa Khalaqa Allāhu As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđa Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Litujzá Kullu Nafsin Bimā Kasabat Wa Hum Lā Yužlamūna
Allah created the heavens and the earth with consummate wisdom, so that every soul may be requited for what it has earned, and they will not be wronged
Ayah 23
Afaraayta mani ittakhatha ilahahu hawahu waadallahu Allahu AAala AAilmin wakhatama AAala samAAihi waqalbihi wajaAAala AAala basarihi ghishawatan faman yahdeehi min baAAdi Allahi afala tathakkaroona
Afara'ayta Mani Attakhadha 'Ilahahu Hawāhu Wa 'Ađallahu Allāhu `Alá `Ilmin Wa Khatama `Alá Sam`ihi Wa Qalbihi Wa Ja`ala `Alá Başarihi Ghishāwatan Faman Yahdīhi Min Ba`di Allāhi 'Afalā Tadhakkarūna
Have you seen him who has taken his desire to be his god and whom Allah has led astray knowingly, set a seal upon his hearing and heart, and put a blindfold on his sight? So who will guide him after Allah [has consigned him to error]? Will you not then take admonition
Ayah 24
Waqaloo ma hiya illa hayatuna alddunya namootu wanahya wama yuhlikuna illa alddahru wama lahum bithalika min AAilmin in hum illa yathunnoona
Wa Qālū Mā Hiya 'Illā Ĥayātunā Ad-Dunyā Namūtu Wa Naĥyā Wa Mā Yuhlikunā 'Illā Ad-Dahru Wa Mā Lahum Bidhālika Min `Ilmin 'In Hum 'Illā Yažunnūna
They say, ‘There is nothing but the life of this world: we live and we die, and nothing but time destroys us.’ But they do not have any knowledge of that, and they only make conjectures
Ayah 25
Waitha tutla AAalayhim ayatuna bayyinatin ma kana hujjatahum illa an qaloo itoo biabaina in kuntum sadiqeena
Wa 'Idhā Tutlá `Alayhim 'Āyātunā Bayyinātin Mā Kāna Ĥujjatahum 'Illā 'An Qālū A'tū Bi'ābā'inā 'In Kuntum Şādiqīna
When Our manifest signs are recited to them, their only argument is to say, ‘Bring our fathers back [to life], if you are truthful.’
Ayah 26
Quli Allahu yuhyeekum thumma yumeetukum thumma yajmaAAukum ila yawmi alqiyamati la rayba feehi walakinna akthara alnnasi la yaAAlamoona
Quli Allāhu Yuĥyīkum Thumma Yumītukum Thumma Yajma`ukum 'Ilá Yawmi Al-Qiyāmati Lā Rayba Fīhi Wa Lakinna 'Akthara An-Nāsi Lā Ya`lamūna
Say, ‘It is Allah who gives you life, then He makes you die. Then He will gather you on the Day of Resurrection, in which there is no doubt. But most people do not know.’
Ayah 27
Walillahi mulku alssamawati waalardi wayawma taqoomu alssaAAatu yawmaithin yakhsaru almubtiloona
Wa Lillahi Mulku As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Yawma Taqūmu As-Sā`atu Yawma'idhin Yakhsaru Al-Mubţilūna
To Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and when the Hour sets in, the falsifiers will be losers on that day
Ayah 28
Watara kulla ommatin jathiyatan kullu ommatin tudAAa ila kitabiha alyawma tujzawna ma kuntum taAAmaloona
Wa Tará Kulla 'Ummatin Jāthiyatan Kullu 'Ummatin Tud`á 'Ilá Kitābihā Al-Yawma Tujzawna Mā Kuntum Ta`malūna
And you will see every nation fallen on its knees. Every nation will be summoned to its book: ‘Today you will be requited for what you used to do
Ayah 29
Hatha kitabuna yantiqu AAalaykum bialhaqqi inna kunna nastansikhu ma kuntum taAAmaloona
Hādhā Kitābunā Yanţiqu `Alaykum Bil-Ĥaqqi 'Innā Kunnā Nastansikhu Mā Kuntum Ta`malūna
This is Our book, which speaks truly against you. Indeed We used to record what you used to do.’
Ayah 30
Faamma allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati fayudkhiluhum rabbuhum fee rahmatihi thalika huwa alfawzu almubeenu
Fa'ammā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Fayudkhiluhum Rabbuhum Fī Raĥmatihi Dhālika Huwa Al-Fawzu Al-Mubīnu
As for those who have faith and do righteous deeds, their Lord will admit them into His mercy. That is the manifest success
Ayah 31
Waamma allatheena kafaroo afalam takun ayatee tutla AAalaykum faistakbartum wakuntum qawman mujrimeena
Wa 'Ammā Al-Ladhīna Kafarū 'Afalam Takun 'Āyātī Tutlá `Alaykum Fāstakbartum Wa Kuntum Qawmāan Mujrimīna
But as for the faithless, [they will be asked,] ‘Were not My signs recited to you? But you were disdainful, and you were a guilty lot
Ayah 32
Waitha qeela inna waAAda Allahi haqqun waalssaAAatu la rayba feeha qultum ma nadree ma alssaAAatu in nathunnu illa thannan wama nahnu bimustayqineena
Wa 'Idhā Qīla 'Inna Wa`da Allāhi Ĥaqqun Wa As-Sā`atu Lā Rayba Fīhā Qultum Mā Nadrī Mā As-Sā`atu 'In Nažunnu 'Illā Žannāan Wa Mā Naĥnu Bimustayqinīna
When it was said, ‘‘Allah’s promise is indeed true, and there is no doubt about the Hour,’’ you said, ‘‘We do not know what the Hour is. We know nothing beyond conjectures, and we do not possess any certainty.’’ ’
Ayah 33
Wabada lahum sayyiatu ma AAamiloo wahaqa bihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzioona
Wa Badā Lahum Sayyi'ātu Mā `Amilū Wa Ĥāqa Bihim Mā Kānū Bihi Yastahzi'ūn
The evils of what they had done will appear to them, and they will be besieged by what they used to deride
Ayah 34
Waqeela alyawma nansakum kama naseetum liqaa yawmikum hatha wamawakumu alnnaru wama lakum min nasireena
Wa Qīla Al-Yawma Nansākum Kamā Nasītum Liqā'a Yawmikum Hādhā Wa Ma'wākumu An-Nāru Wa Mā Lakum Min Nāşirīna
And it will be said, ‘Today We will forget you, just as you forgot the encounter of this day of yours. The Fire will be your abode, and you will not have any helpers
Ayah 35
Thalikum biannakumu ittakhathtum ayati Allahi huzuwan wagharratkumu alhayatu alddunya faalyawma la yukhrajoona minha wala hum yustaAAtaboona
Dhālikum Bi'annakum Attakhadhtum 'Āyāti Allāhi Huzūan Wa Gharratkumu Al-Ĥayāatu Ad-Dunyā Fālyawma Lā Yukhrajūna Minhā Wa Lā Hum Yusta`tabūna
That is because you took the signs of Allah in derision, and the life of the world had deceived you.’ So today, they will not be brought out of it, nor will they be asked to propitiate [Allah]
Ayah 36
Falillahi alhamdu rabbi alssamawati warabbi alardi rabbi alAAalameena
Falillāhi Al-Ĥamdu Rabbi As-Samāwāti Wa Rabbi Al-'Arđi Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna
So all praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of the heavens and the Lord of the earth, the Lord of all the worlds
Ayah 37
Walahu alkibriyao fee alssamawati waalardi wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu
Wa Lahu Al-Kibriyā'u Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Huwa Al-`Azīzu Al-Ĥakīmu
To Him belongs all supremacy in the heavens and the earth, and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise
