Al-Hujuraat

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tuqaddimoo bayna yadayi Allahi warasoolihi waittaqoo Allaha inna Allaha sameeAAun AAaleemun

Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Lā Tuqaddimū Bayna Yadayi Allāhi Wa Rasūlihi Wa Attaqū Allāha 'Inna Allāha Samī`un `Alīmun

Believers, do not be presumptuous with the Messenger of God (in your deeds and in your words). Have fear of God; He is All-hearing and All-knowing

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la tarfaAAoo aswatakum fawqa sawti alnnabiyyi wala tajharoo lahu bialqawli kajahri baAAdikum libaAAdin an tahbata aAAmalukum waantum la tashAAuroona

Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Lā Tarfa`ū 'Aşwātakum Fawqa Şawti An-Nabīyi Wa Lā Tajharū Lahu Bil-Qawli Kajahri Ba`đikum Liba`đin 'An Taĥbaţa 'A`mālukum Wa 'Antum Lā Tash`urūna

Believers, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet, do not be too loud in speaking to him [as you may have been to one another], lest your deeds will be made devoid of all virtue without your realizing it

Inna allatheena yaghuddoona aswatahum AAinda rasooli Allahi olaika allatheena imtahana Allahu quloobahum lilttaqwa lahum maghfiratun waajrun AAatheemun

Inna Al-Ladhīna Yaghuđđūna 'Aşwātahum `Inda Rasūli Allāhi 'Ūlā'ika Al-Ladhīna Amtaĥana Allāhu Qulūbahum Lilttaqwá Lahum Maghfiratun Wa 'Ajrun `Ažīmun

The hearts of those who lower their voices in the presence of the Messenger of God are tested by God through piety. They will have forgiveness and a great reward

Inna allatheena yunadoonaka min warai alhujurati aktharuhum la yaAAqiloona

Inna Al-Ladhīna Yunādūnaka Min Warā'i Al-Ĥujurāti 'Aktharuhum Lā Ya`qilūna

Most of those who call you from behind the private chambers do not have any understanding

Walaw annahum sabaroo hatta takhruja ilayhim lakana khayran lahum waAllahu ghafoorun raheemun

Wa Law 'Annahum Şabarū Ĥattá Takhruja 'Ilayhim Lakāna Khayrāan Lahum Wa Allāhu Ghafūrun Raĥīmun

Had they exercised patience until you had come out, it would have been better for them. God is All-forgiving and All-merciful

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo in jaakum fasiqun binabain fatabayyanoo an tuseeboo qawman bijahalatin fatusbihoo AAala ma faAAaltum nadimeena

Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū 'In Jā'akum Fāsiqun Binaba'iin Fatabayyanū 'An Tuşībū Qawmāan Bijahālatin Fatuşbiĥū `Alá Mā Fa`altum Nādimīna

Believers, if one who publicly commits sins brings you any news, ascertain its truthfulness carefully, lest you harm people through ignorance and then regret what you have done

WaiAAlamoo anna feekum rasoola Allahi law yuteeAAukum fee katheerin mina alamri laAAanittum walakinna Allaha habbaba ilaykumu aleemana wazayyanahu fee quloobikum wakarraha ilaykumu alkufra waalfusooqa waalAAisyana olaika humu alrrashidoona

Wa A`lamū 'Anna Fīkum Rasūla Allāhi Law Yuţī`ukum Fī Kathīrin Mina Al-'Amri La`anittum Wa Lakinna Allāha Ĥabbaba 'Ilaykumu Al-'Īmāna Wa Zayyanahu Fī Qulūbikum Wa Karraha 'Ilaykumu Al-Kufra Wa Al-Fusūqa Wa Al-`Işyāna 'Ūlā'ika Humu Ar-Rāshidūna

Know that the Messenger of God is with you. Had he yielded to you on many of the matters, you would have been in great trouble. But God has endeared the faith to you and has made it attractive to your hearts. He has made disbelief, evil deeds and disobedience hateful to you. Such people will have the right guidance

Fadlan mina Allahi waniAAmatan waAllahu AAaleemun hakeemun

Fađlāan Mina Allāhi Wa Ni`matan Wa Allāhu `Alīmun Ĥakīmun

as a favor and a blessing from God. God is All-knowing and All-wise

Wain taifatani mina almumineena iqtataloo faaslihoo baynahuma fain baghat ihdahuma AAala alokhra faqatiloo allatee tabghee hatta tafeea ila amri Allahi fain faat faaslihoo baynahuma bialAAadli waaqsitoo inna Allaha yuhibbu almuqsiteena

Wa 'In Ţā'ifatāni Mina Al-Mu'uminīna Aqtatalū Fa'aşliĥū Baynahumā Fa'in Baghat 'Iĥdāhumā `Alá Al-'Ukhrá Faqātilū Allatī Tabghī Ĥattá Tafī'a 'Ilá 'Amri Allāhi Fa'in Fā'at Fa'aşliĥū Baynahumā Bil-`Adli Wa 'Aqsiţū 'Inna Allāha Yuĥibbu Al-Muqsiţīna

If two parties among the believers start to fight against each other, restore peace among them. If one party rebels against the other, fight against the rebellious one until he surrenders to the command of God. When he does so, restore peace among them with justice and equality; God loves those who maintain justice

Innama almuminoona ikhwatun faaslihoo bayna akhawaykum waittaqoo Allaha laAAallakum turhamoona

Innamā Al-Mu'uminūna 'Ikhwatun Fa'aşliĥū Bayna 'Akhawaykum Wa Attaqū Allāha La`allakum Turĥamūna

Believers are each other's brothers. Restore peace among your brothers. Have fear of God so that perhaps you will receive mercy

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo la yaskhar qawmun min qawmin AAasa an yakoonoo khayran minhum wala nisaon min nisain AAasa an yakunna khayran minhunna wala talmizoo anfusakum wala tanabazoo bialalqabi bisa alismu alfusooqu baAAda aleemani waman lam yatub faolaika humu alththalimoona

Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Lā Yaskhar Qawmun Min Qawmin `Asá 'An Yakūnū Khayrāan Minhum Wa Lā Nisā'un Min Nisā'in `Asá 'An Yakunna Khayrāan Minhunna Wa Lā Talmizū 'Anfusakum Wa Lā Tanābazū Bil-'Alqābi Bi'sa Al-Aismu Al-Fusūqu Ba`da Al-'Īmāni Wa Man Lam Yatub Fa'ūlā'ika Humu Až-Žālimūna

Believers, let not a group of you mock another. Perhaps they are better than you. Let not women mock each other; perhaps one is better than the other. Let not one of you find faults in another nor let anyone of you defame another. How terrible is the defamation after having true faith. Those who do not repent are certainly unjust

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo ijtaniboo katheeran mina alththanni inna baAAda alththanni ithmun wala tajassasoo wala yaghtab baAAdukum baAAdan ayuhibbu ahadukum an yakula lahma akheehi maytan fakarihtumoohu waittaqoo Allaha inna Allaha tawwabun raheemun

Yā 'Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Ajtanibū Kathīrāan Mina Až-Žanni 'Inna Ba`đa Až-Žanni 'Ithmun Wa Lā Tajassasū Wa Lā Yaghtab Ba`đukum Ba`đāan 'Ayuĥibbu 'Aĥadukum 'An Ya'kula Laĥma 'Akhīhi Maytāan Fakarihtumūhu Wa Attaqū Allāha 'Inna Allāha Tawwābun Raĥīmun

Believers, stay away from conjecture; acting upon some conjecture may lead to sin. Do not spy on one another or back-bite. Would any of you like to eat the disgusting dead flesh of your brother? Have fear of God; God accepts repentance and is All-merciful

Ya ayyuha alnnasu inna khalaqnakum min thakarin waontha wajaAAalnakum shuAAooban waqabaila litaAAarafoo inna akramakum AAinda Allahi atqakum inna Allaha AAaleemun khabeerun

Yā 'Ayyuhā An-Nāsu 'Innā Khalaqnākum Min Dhakarin Wa 'Unthá Wa Ja`alnākum Shu`ūbāan Wa Qabā'ila Lita`ārafū 'Inna 'Akramakum `Inda Allāhi 'Atqākum 'Inna Allāha `Alīmun Khabīrun

People, We have created you all male and female and have made you nations and tribes so that you would recognize each other. The most honorable among you in the sight of God is the most pious of you. God is All-knowing and All-aware

Qalati alaAArabu amanna qul lam tuminoo walakin qooloo aslamna walamma yadkhuli aleemanu fee quloobikum wain tuteeAAoo Allaha warasoolahu la yalitkum min aAAmalikum shayan inna Allaha ghafoorun raheemun

Qālati Al-'A`rābu 'Āmannā Qul Lam Tu'uminū Wa Lakin Qūlū 'Aslamnā Wa Lammā Yadkhuli Al-'Īmānu Fī Qulūbikum Wa 'In Tuţī`ū Allāha Wa Rasūlahu Lā Yalitkum Min 'A`mālikum Shay'āan 'Inna Allāha Ghafūrun Raĥīmun

The bedouin Arabs have said, "We are believers." Tell them, "You are not believers, but you should say that you are Muslims. In fact, belief has not yet entered your hearts. If you obey God and His Messenger, nothing will be reduced from your deeds. God is All-forgiving and All-merciful

Innama almuminoona allatheena amanoo biAllahi warasoolihi thumma lam yartaboo wajahadoo biamwalihim waanfusihim fee sabeeli Allahi olaika humu alssadiqoona

Innamā Al-Mu'uminūna Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Billāhi Wa Rasūlihi Thumma Lam Yartābū Wa Jāhadū Bi'amwālihim Wa 'Anfusihim Fī Sabīli Allāhi 'Ūlā'ika Humu Aş-Şādiqūna

The believers are those who believe in God and His Messenger, who do not change their belief into doubt and who strive hard for the cause of God with their property and persons. They are the truthful ones

Qul atuAAallimoona Allaha bideenikum waAllahu yaAAlamu ma fee alssamawati wama fee alardi waAllahu bikulli shayin AAaleemun

Qul 'Atu`allimūna Allāha Bidīnikum Wa Allāhu Ya`lamu Mā Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Mā Fī Al-'Arđi Wa Allāhu Bikulli Shay'in `Alīmun

(Muhammad), say, "Do you teach God about your religion? God knows whatever is in the heavens and the earth. He has the knowledge of all things

Yamunnoona AAalayka an aslamoo qul la tamunnoo AAalayya islamakum bali Allahu yamunnu AAalaykum an hadakum lileemani in kuntum sadiqeena

Yamunnūna `Alayka 'An 'Aslamū Qul Lā Tamunnū `Alayya 'Islāmakum Bali Allāhu Yamunnu `Alaykum 'An Hadākum Lil'īmāni 'In Kuntum Şādiqīna

(The bedouins tell you that) you owe them (a great deal) for their embracing Islam. Tell them, "You are not doing me any favors by embracing Islam. In fact, it is God who has done you a great favor by guiding you to the faith. (Think about this) if you are people of truth

Inna Allaha yaAAlamu ghayba alssamawati waalardi waAllahu baseerun bima taAAmaloona

Inna Allāha Ya`lamu Ghayba As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Allāhu Başīrun Bimā Ta`malūna

God knows whatever is unseen in the heavens and in the earth. He is Well Aware of what you do
