IdhÄ As-SamÄ'u Anshaqqat
When the heavens are rent asunder
Surah 84
The Splitting Open
سُورَةُ الانشِقَاقِ
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Ayah 1
Itha alssamao inshaqqat
IdhÄ As-SamÄ'u Anshaqqat
When the heavens are rent asunder
Ayah 2
Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqat
Wa 'Adhinat LirabbihÄ Wa Ĥuqqat
in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them
Ayah 3
Waitha alardu muddat
Wa 'IdhÄ Al-'ArÄ‘u Muddat
when the earth is stretched out
Ayah 4
Waalqat ma feeha watakhallat
Wa 'Alqat MÄ FÄ«hÄ Wa Takhallat
and throws out of itself all that it contains
Ayah 5
Waathinat lirabbiha wahuqqat
Wa 'Adhinat LirabbihÄ Wa Ĥuqqat
in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds)
Ayah 6
Ya ayyuha alinsanu innaka kadihun ila rabbika kadhan famulaqeehi
YÄ 'AyyuhÄ Al-'InsÄnu 'Innaka KÄdiÄ¥un 'Ilá Rabbika KadÄ¥Äan FamulÄqÄ«hi
Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds)
Ayah 7
Faama man ootiya kitabahu biyameenihi
Fa'ammÄ Man 'Ūtiya KitÄbahu BiyamÄ«nihi
The reckoning of those whose Book of records will be given into their right hands
Ayah 8
Fasawfa yuhasabu hisaban yaseeran
Fasawfa YuÄ¥Äsabu ĤisÄbÄan YasÄ«rÄan
will be easy
Ayah 9
Wayanqalibu ila ahlihi masrooran
Wa Yanqalibu 'Ilá 'Ahlihi MasrÅ«rÄan
and they will return to their people, delighted
Ayah 10
Waamma man ootiya kitabahu waraa thahrihi
Wa 'AmmÄ Man 'Ūtiya KitÄbahu WarÄ'a Žahrihi
But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs
Ayah 11
Fasawfa yadAAoo thubooran
Fasawfa Yad`Å« ThubÅ«rÄan
they will say, "Woe to us
Ayah 12
Wayasla saAAeeran
Wa YaÅŸlá Sa`Ä«rÄan
They will suffer the heat of hell fire
Ayah 13
Innahu kana fee ahlihi masrooran
Innahu KÄna FÄ« 'Ahlihi MasrÅ«rÄan
They lived among their people joyfully
Ayah 14
Innahu thanna an lan yahoora
Innahu Žanna 'An Lan Yaĥūra
and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again
Ayah 15
Bala inna rabbahu kana bihi baseeran
Balá 'Inna Rabbahu KÄna Bihi BaÅŸÄ«rÄan
This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do)
Ayah 16
Fala oqsimu bialshshafaqi
FalÄ 'Uqsimu Bish-Shafaqi
I do not need to swear by the sunset
Ayah 17
Waallayli wama wasaqa
Wa Al-Layli Wa MÄ Wasaqa
or by the night in which things all come together to rest
Ayah 18
Waalqamari itha ittasaqa
Wa Al-Qamari 'IdhÄ Attasaqa
or by the moon when it is full
Ayah 19
Latarkabunna tabaqan AAan tabaqin
Latarkabunna Å¢abaqÄan `An Å¢abaqin
that you will certainly pass through one stage after another
Ayah 20
Fama lahum la yuminoona
FamÄ Lahum LÄ Yu'uminÅ«na
What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe
Ayah 21
Waitha quria AAalayhimu alquranu la yasjudoona
Wa 'IdhÄ Quri'a `Alayhimu Al-Qur'Änu LÄ YasjudÅ«na
Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves
Ayah 22
Bali allatheena kafaroo yukaththiboona
Bali Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Yukadhibūna
In fact, they reject the Quran
Ayah 23
WaAllahu aAAlamu bima yooAAoona
Wa AllÄhu 'A`lamu BimÄ YÅ«`Å«na
but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts
Ayah 24
Fabashshirhum biAAathabin aleemin
Fabashirhum Bi`adhÄbin 'AlÄ«min
(Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment
Ayah 25
Illa allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum ajrun ghayru mamnoonin
IllÄ Al-LadhÄ«na 'Ä€manÅ« Wa `AmilÅ« AÅŸ-ÅžÄliÄ¥Äti Lahum 'Ajrun Ghayru MamnÅ«nin
except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward
