Waalssamai thati alburooji

Wa As-Samā'i Dhāti Al-Burūji

By the heaven with its Houses

Waalyawmi almawAAoodi

Wa Al-Yawmi Al-Maw`ūdi

by the Promised Day

Washahidin wamashhoodin

Wa Shāhidin Wa Mash/hūdin

by the Witness and the Witnessed

Qutila ashabu alukhdoodi

Qutila 'Aşĥābu Al-'Ukhdūdi

perish the People of the Ditch

Alnnari thati alwaqoodi

An-Nāri Dhāti Al-Waqūdi

The fire abounding in fuel

Ith hum AAalayha quAAoodun

Idh Hum `Alayhā Qu`ūdun

above which they sat

Wahum AAala ma yafAAaloona bialmumineena shuhoodun

Wa Hum `Alá Mā Yaf`alūna Bil-Mu'uminīna Shuhūdun

as they were themselves witnesses to what they did to the faithful

Wama naqamoo minhum illa an yuminoo biAllahi alAAazeezi alhameedi

Wa Mā Naqamū Minhum 'Illā 'An Yu'uminū Billāhi Al-`Azīzi Al-Ĥamīdi

They were vindictive towards them only because they had faith in Allah, the All-mighty and the All-laudable

Allathee lahu mulku alssamawati waalardi waAllahu AAala kulli shayin shaheedun

Al-Ladhī Lahu Mulku As-Samāwāti Wa Al-'Arđi Wa Allāhu `Alá Kulli Shay'in Shahīdun

to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is witness to all things

Inna allatheena fatanoo almumineena waalmuminati thumma lam yatooboo falahum AAathabu jahannama walahum AAathabu alhareeqi

Inna Al-Ladhīna Fatanū Al-Mu'uminīna Wa Al-Mu'umināti Thumma Lam Yatūbū Falahum `Adhābu Jahannama Wa Lahum `Adhābu Al-Ĥarīqi

Indeed those who persecute the faithful, men and women, and do not repent thereafter, there is the punishment of hell for them and the punishment of burning

Inna allatheena amanoo waAAamiloo alssalihati lahum jannatun tajree min tahtiha alanharu thalika alfawzu alkabeeru

Inna Al-Ladhīna 'Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Lahum Jannātun Tajrī Min Taĥtihā Al-'Anhāru Dhālika Al-Fawzu Al-Kabīru

Indeed those who have faith and do righteous deeds—for them will be gardens with streams running in them. That is the supreme success

Inna batsha rabbika lashadeedun

Inna Baţsha Rabbika Lashadīdun

Indeed your Lord’s striking is severe

Innahu huwa yubdio wayuAAeedu

Innahu Huwa Yubdi'u Wa Yu`īdu

It is indeed He who originates and brings back

Wahuwa alghafooru alwadoodu

Wa Huwa Al-Ghafūru Al-Wadūdu

and He is the All-forgiving, the All-affectionate

Thoo alAAarshi almajeedi

Dhū Al-`Arshi Al-Majīdu

Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious

FaAAAAalun lima yureedu

Fa``ālun Limā Yurīdu

doer of what He desires

Hal ataka hadeethu aljunoodi

Hal 'Atāka Ĥadīthu Al-Junūdi

Did you receive the story of the hosts

FirAAawna wathamooda

Fir`awna Wa Thamūda

of Pharaoh and Thamud

Bali allatheena kafaroo fee taktheebin

Bali Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Fī Takdhībin

Indeed the faithless dwell in denial

WaAllahu min waraihim muheetun

Wa Allāhu Min Warā'ihim Muĥīţun

and Allah besieges them from all around

Bal huwa quranun majeedun

Bal Huwa Qur'ānun Majīdun

Indeed it is a glorious Quran
